Totally away from it all.
Surrounded by forest and serenity.
End of the road.
Incredible, rare setting with Hot Tub and river.
Right on the beautiful, running Upper Tallulah River. Hiking right out the door in the Nantahala Forest. Fly fishing, bird-watching, waterfall viewing and so much more that nature has to offer. The house is custom-built with the high-end amenities.
This house is simply one of the most unique we have ever rented. From the stone fireplaces to the hot tub out on the patio next to the river, the amenities are first class. We wanted to just getaway and relax and this was the perfect place for an escape. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to be surrounded by nature and in a a incredible mountain home.
As a frequent VRBO client, I can say this is the most high end property I have stayed in. The house has such class and character, every upgrade. The setting is too beautiful to describe....a memory for a lifetime! The drive up the mountain road was a bit long and scary, but well worth it. The only downside was the road in front of the house, although infrequently traveled, forced me to watch my dog while outside.
We were able to admire the quaint home of Bilbo Baggins in Lord of the Rings, but did you wonder where Gandalf lived? Well, I think we found it! After opening the massive hewn wood front door we felt like we entered a fantasy world fit for wizards, elves, and especially us humans. We enjoyed our magical weekend and can't wait to return for our anniversary next year.
Wow, what a truly unique cabin! We stayed with our family of 5 (2 adults/3 kids) and had an amazing time! Ellesor was a pleasure to work with and catered to our every whim and question. The proximity of the cabin to the river is simply astounding with nearly every window in the house having a water view. The grounds were so cool, with multiple fire pits, patio spaces, a flat grass yard, hot tub, excellent outdoor lighting & a kids playscape (nice surprise!) It is extremely private and secluded. We were even blessed with 2 inches of snow on our last night! We spent it sitting in the hot tub as the snow pelted our faces! We would definitely recommend anyone coming to be prepared to stay for the duration (cook meals there), as the drive back down to town is quite long and really would take a lot of time out of the day. The cabin is stocked better than any place we have ever stayed, with awesome pottery, dishware, firewood, etc. It also has such modern amenities as gourmet oven and stove top, bar, TV, DVD, internet access, etc. Word of warning, cell service is non-existent, but the owner allowed for use of the land line phone at the cabin whenever needed. Not recommended for multiple couples as there is only 1 King bed and a small bunk room with bunk beds. We squeezed our 3 kids in the bunk room and it worked out great. There are also large couches that could accommodate teenagers as well. We spent one afternoon going hiking to Denton Falls, which is is about a 2 mile drive (or hike) back down the road. The waterfall is gorgeous and the hike allows for you to nearly stand under the falls for pictures. We will definitely go back in the spring, summer, and fall. The winter stay was great, but it was a bit cold to truly enjoy all the outdoor amenities this cabin had to offer...we highly recommend it for those wanting true seclusion, romance, and/or a family getaway!
The manager of this cabin, Ellesor, is wonderful and very responsive. This unique cabin is very secluded and magical with the massive stone fireplaces, beautiful river views, interesting details of stone, granite, slate, brick, and wood. From the interesting beams to the incredible walk-in shower this is a great place to relax far away from it all.
A great getaway from the hustle an bustle! Ellesor is a wonderful host and followed up throughout our stay to make sure we had a great time. I couldn't have asked for more!
If you want to get away from it all, this is your place! A Thanksgiving that will always be remembered!!
