Lovely , Clean, Comfortable Ranch Close to everything!
About Jade Dixon
After living in LA, NYC & London, I moved to the area to help my daughter pursue her career in the Equine Industry. We moved to KY with 1 horse , We soon acquired more. So we needed a larger property for all the horses. Then we bought a new horse farm a little further in the country. My daughter and I still love this house and miss the spaciousness & fast access to everything. Our loss is your gain. We have enjoyed having many visitors over the years that have really appreciated the home and all it has to offer!
Jade Dixon purchased this House in 2004

1 star ranch
I don't even know where to start - this was by far the worst of the Homeaway properties we've stayed at. We were a family of 7, including 2 children and 2 small dogs. The owner surprised us by meeting us at the property on arrival. During our stay, a car drove up to the house where our cars had been away and left when the passengers realised the house was in fact occupied (the owner denied any knowledge of this "visit"). The house was permeated by a suffocating, musty, damp smell that we couldn't dispell over our 4 days there. The towells were musty and had stains on them that couldn't be washed out, though the bedding was clean. The house needs a thorough clean - there were crumbs in the kitchen drawers, the dishwasher was dirty and smelly, the dishes and cutlery looked dirty so we bought our own single-use sets; the sofa beds looked dirty and smelt badly, too; the window panes were dirty, with dead bugs and spider webs. Wi-fi and one of the two TVs stopped working after 1 day, as did the lights in an en-suite bathroom and one of the bedrooms. The garden furniture was rusty and dirty and there were CCTV cameras outside the property, which the listing hadn't mentioned and we hadn't consented to. The property is just off a motorway (again, not mentioned in the listing) and so it's very loud. The owner must've had some unpleasant experiences with guests, as the "welcome note" stated the towels would be counted on departure. She also requested we strip all bedding off and put it in the wash on leaving (we think this should be done by housekeeping). All in all, despite the owner stating in the welcome note she wished the guests a pleasant stay, this was anything but and we wouldn't recommend the ranch to anyone.
Good place to stay!!
The house was very conveniently located, close to shopping, restaurants and the softball complex, which was our reason for visiting Bowling Green. Jade, the owner, was wonderful to make sure we had all we would need, extra towels, shampoo, paper products and even the makings for s’mores for the teenagers.
We appreciate the time taken to write a review. We work hard to make sure renters have the best possible stay!
Less than expected
Property needs some up dates. Fairly new kitchen and decorated well but lots of dirt in couches and large “dust bunnies” everywhere. It was very hot while we were there but wouldnt have used the sun room anyway because of the spider webs and dirt. Beds were clean and comfortable but close to highway so not real quiet. Description of property is miss leading. May have had that “Spectaculer view” but couldnt see it for the weeds that were taller than me! And the firepit pic is definately not whats on the property. We’ve stayed in several Home and away properties and this is the first one we have been disappointed in. Has potential to be worth the nightly rent charged but needs some work.
No good dead goes unpunished. After repeated requests to check in early. We allowed the guest to do so. We always try to make sure the house is 100% clean. We also always ask renters to let us know immediately if anything is not up to par. We would have been glad to send housekeeping to come back to clean anything that was less than perfect. When notified a fan only had 2 speeds, I asked when I could have someone come fix it but was told 3 times it was unnecessary. I will no longer allow guests to check in early when it is a same day check out of renters in the morning to new renters checking in the evening Because of this renter and this review that is less than truthful. What is also not mentioned is guests clearly had more staying then what they stated when making the reservation...
Also no homeowner appreciates towels being used to wipe down cars. Making them unusable. Paper towels & cleaning rags are supplied and would be more appropriate than ruining towels.
The sun room is a 3 season room as stated.
The surrounding fields are mowed every couple of weeks however due to rain everyday for several weeks, it was not possible. We do harvest the fields for hay for the horses.
As a favor to renters the fire pit has wood covered in plastic to keep it dry. The plastic may not be picturesque but it works to keep the wood dry. Lots of renters have enjoyed the fire pit with dry wood. The picture is of this fire pit was taken by the guys that built it and posted it.
We do everything to make the property as nice as possible. However we have no control over the weather.
The house has rand new windows to keep noise to a minimum. The bedrooms also have sound machines in each room to help sleepers fall asleep with privacy and to the sounds of waterfalls or summer breezes.
We always ask if anything is not 100% clean or in working order to please let us know ASAP So we have a chance to make it right.
This review proves reviews are real but also highlights how renters abuse the system to throw accusations at owners after they themselves have broken rules.
Comfortable and convenient
We stayed here for the weekend with a group playing softball. The house was affordable with plenty of space, and very convenient to get to shopping, eating places, as well as the ball park. Jade was very friendly and accommodating.
We are always happy to have renters that enjoy their stay and appreciate the time taken to write a review.
We came for a wedding and stayed a few days to visit the caves and Nashville. The house suited our needs perfectly! The house was clean, nicely decorated, well supplied with everything and just as advertised!
Very enjoyable! We plan on coming back next year!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review and please do come visit again!
Great 70's Ranch with nice location Highly recomme
The house has a galley kitchen with 2 ovens and well supplied with everything from pots and pans to dinnerware. We found it to be clean and comfortable. There was more than enough of everything from shampoo to toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
The dark out drapes were nice after a night of too much drinking! LOL
We had a great time! The owner was nice to let us check in early and check out late. So much nicer than a hotel!! No creepy guys at front desk!!
We appreciate the time taken to write a review!
