great time

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this cabin for a snowboarding trip with 4 friends, great cabin! It was exactly what we needed at a very reasonable price. Steve was very easy to work with and was reachable by phone whenever we had a question. I was a bit worried about getting stuck in the snow but the driveway was cleaned prior to our arrival. Great sound system! Plenty of kitchen ware, having a ping pong/ pool table was pretty awesome, would recommend this cabin to friends. Thanks Steve!

Memorable weekend

  • 5 of 5

I am not exaggerating but Steve is a really nice person to work with. I was a bit reluctant to finalize my plans since almost every other weekend rain or thunderstorms were predicted. Well after having a little one, we have to make sure that we can stop at will. But as soon as we made up our minds, I contacted Steve. Luckily his property was still available. It was going to be very late in the night to reach tahoe, so Steve made sure that the house was accessible and lights were turned on so that we could get in the house easily. The house has a rustic cabin feeling but in a good way. It is spacious. 4 of us and our little one had plenty of space to ourselves. The house has everything including utensils, pots, bread toaster you name it. There are also some spices, salt etc. We cooked only once. The pool table upstairs was in a good condition. There was a ping pong table top which we didn't use. The property was true to it's description in the posting, in fact much better in person. There were soap bars, hand soap, lotion, plenty of towels and many more things. Also, unlike many other rentals, at least this is what I have read and personally had to do once at another rental, we didn't have to put the linen or towels in the washer. Only things we had to do, when we left, were putting the dishes in dishwasher and start the dishwasher then put the trash out in the containers inside garage.

When I spoke to Steve on phone, I asked him if we have to carry our towels or also if there is anything else let me know now. Steve's reply was "You just have to show up." I laughed when Steve told me that but it was literally a matter of showing up and enjoying vacation.

Lira's grocery store is about 2.5 miles away. Stock up there if needed.

At the end of our trip, we felt that we were not doing justice to the beautiful property by staying only 2 nights. We even pondered extending vacation by 1 more day. But beating traffic the next morning and reaching office would have been a nightmare. So with heavy heart we didn't extend the stay. Steve was generous enough to let us stay beyond check out time since getting our little one ready took a while. We reached late on the day of arrival so Steve even told us that we could stay until dinner on the day of departure if we wanted to, which was a nice gesture on his part. Even for the slightest of issues Steve is a phone call away and takes care of it immediately. Thank you Steve. We will definitely be back.

comfortable and homey

  • 4 of 5

The home is comfortable and clean. Steve the owner called to make sure everything was ok. We really appreciated a king size bed and roomy bathroom upstairs. Also, it was well stocked with all the things you forget to bring or buy at the store, ex: soap, syran wrap, foil, baggies, etc. The place is ready for you to enjoy your vacation! We love cooking breakfast and would've enjoyed an electric skillet for pancakes, so maybe we'll find it next time. The old fashioned waffle maker makes awesome waffles though! Thanks Steve! Hope to come back soon.

Comfortable and met our needs

  • 4 of 5

Well you never know what you're going to walk into with all the rentals in Tahoe. We were pleased that this rental had that homey feeling. We could tell that possibly this is was a family home and appreciated all the little things you might have to buy or forget. First off, we loved that there is actually a comfortable king bed upstairs! My husband and I appreciated feeling like we had the whole upstairs ourselves. Also, I appreciated that there was garbage bags, soap, plastic wrap, toilet paper, etc. We loved playing pool and having flat screen tv's in more than just the living room. The heat worked great, and the kitchen was sufficient with coffee filters, soap, and whatever you might need to cook your favorite meal. I would suggest to the owners to do whatever they can to lighten up the place, a bit dark, but like I said, comfortable! There are a lot of lamps, but doesn't get much sun. Also, we really would've loved a pancake grill as breakfast is a big thing for us and the pots and pans do the job but had to reuse the one big one for our pancakes and everything else. Just a suggestion but overall, I'd definitely bring my family back! Good and quiet neighborhood too! Thank you Steve for calling and making sure all was well with us.

What a fun and great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here during President's and Valentine day weekend with 3 couples. The place is very comfortable for all of us. I specifically love the entertainment system (HDTV, CD changers, phone connector, and large speakers) and the game room upstairs with pool and ping-pong table. It is like a mini loungue / bar within the house =). There is also gaming system (XBOX) with many games for kids but I did suggest the owner to move it upstairs to fully utilize. The kitchen is very well stocked and house is quite clean. Location-wise, the house is very close to the Sierra Resort and only like 10-15 mins drive to Heavenly and downtown. There wasn't a lot of snow this time we went up, but still had a blast ! Overall, great stay! Thanks Steve for the accommodation !

Across the street from this property is a lot that is owned by the U.S. Forest service. The lot backs up to the national forest. It's a perfect hill for children to sled on. It's about 100 feet across the street. In Christmas Valley it snows almost 2 to 1 as it does in town. This area always has snow!!!
