There is a $1,000 security deposit and a $150 non-refundable cleaning charge. You pay for electricity and for your Shores photo ID cards, and we pay for everything else. The payment terms are one half when the lease is completed and the second half six months before the lease commences.

You will be a guest of our family. Please know that we fell that we are responsible for your happiness while you're on your vacation in your condo. Read our reviews to know why our service and this condo are different. Our family has owned a number of condos at The Shores since the early 1970s. This is our only condo that it not booked for two or more years in advance.

Please know that a family member of the owner will thoroughly inspect your condo the evening before you arrive. A family member will greet you and take you through the condo, La Princesa, and The Shores, showing you everything you will enjoy during your stay. You will be asked, "Is everything just right?"

The following is a description of this upscale and large condo, the La Princesa Tower, The Shores Complex, Coronado, and San Diego.

Your one bedroom, one bath condo is extremely large, 1,200 square-feet, and is the largest one bedroom, one bath at The Shores. Your balcony is 26 feet long, not 15 feet long, and has an head-on ocean and Point Loma view from the 12th floor. The photos that you see on VRBO are exactly what you see standing on the balcony or in the living room or bedroom looking directly toward the ocean, the sunsets, and Point Loma. The condo has central heat/air supplied by a quiet heat pump. This condo is quiet, and you hear nothing but the surf.

Although your condo in La Princesa Tower is centrally located within The Shores, you can walk in three minutes to The Shores' gym and to one of the world's most beautiful beaches and six minutes to Coronado's shops, dining, and entertainment, including the world famous Hotel Del Coronado. Just eight minutes from your door, Orange Avenue in Coronado is dotted with delicious, reasonably priced and hometown as well as exotic restaurants and delis, grocery stores, museums, and curio stores. You can drive across the Coronado Bridge to enjoy SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, the Gas Light District, and a hundred other attractions.

Coronado Shores amenities include 24/7 doormen, roving security guards, and staffed entrance gates. You will have absolute security and privacy. The huge, four separate pool and Jacuzzi complexes, which are located next to the beach and overlook the ocean, Point Loma and the Coronado Islands, have Club Houses with a bar and scheduled activities. The acres of landscaping are lush and meticulously cared for and have Streams, ponds, and waterfalls.

Storage and parking are generous. The bedroom has a large walk-in closet as well as loads of in-unit storage space, with additional storage areas and your private parking space for one car in the underground in the secured garage. There is ample parking in front of La Princes for your second vehicle and your guests as well as throughout The Shores.

For more information and photos, visit, and specifically look at the gorgeous amenities, the pool temperatures, and the La Princesa Tower in which your unit is located.

Each rental does not include the last day of your monthly or your term lease. We need this day to make the condo pristine for our next guest. Yes, we take an entire day to clean the condo, which means going through everything and checking and cleaning it.

The rates include everything, except for electricity, landline phone, and your photo ID.

Contact owner, Bill, first at and then at (619) 400-9581. We will be happy to answer all of your questions.

A Gem Of a Property On a Gem Of an Island

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this marvelous property was as advertised and then some. A personal tour by the owner himself on New Year's Day started it out perfectly and it only got better from there. The unit was very clean and well maintained and everything we needed was in place. The view of the Pacific from the over sized balcony was the icing on the cake. And the ocean side multiple pool and whirlpool complexes were exceptional. And the town of Coronado is very welcoming. We felt like we lived there after a week or so. Wonderful restaurants and one of the cutest, quaint downtown areas anyone could ask for. Quite frankly, we never left the island as we have seen all of the sites off island on previous trips. We can't wait to come back. My wife and I highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed.

This was a first in many ways at The Shores.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at The Shores in Coronado, California 17 times. (My husband says 16 but he's wrong.) We have stayed at 6 of the 10 Towers. This was the first time that our emails were answered quickly and in detail. The owner actually met us in the lobby and showed us the spacious and beautiful condo and how to use the appliances. No broker or owner ever met with us before. We DIDN'T "re-clean" the condo. We've always spend a half to a full day re-cleaning. (We can't stand other peoples' dirt.) The oven looked like it hadn't been used. The blenders, the choppers, the frying pans, the flat wear, and all of the other stuff were perfectly arranged and shiny clean. There are robes, extra towels, barbeque stuff and everything we needed. They had corn-on-the-cob plates and spike holders. They had everything. The views are beautiful and--and this is important--they look just like the photos. In previous years, we had places where you had to go out to the balcony and make an about face to see the views. The condo is quiet. We leave all of the sliding glass doors and windows open all day and all night and must have silence. (The condos that face Orange and the Silver Strand and the Bay aren't quiet.) The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished. The bedroom has a walk-in closet that as large as the second bedroom in the two-bedroom condos at The Shores. Everything you'll need is there and it's top notch. There was a bouquet of flowers and a wonderful basket of fruits, cookies, breads, cheeses, juices, and wines. (We gave the wines to the doorman, because Hubby and I swore off booze 20 years ago.) After we were there for about 3 days, a family member called and asked is everything was just right. Imagine that. The people who take care of the building really cared about us and helped us. (We're not Spring Chickens anymore.) I know that you'll think I'm nuts but we're certain that they laundered the bed pillows. I can't think of one thing that wasn't just right, and my husband will tell you that that is close to a miracle.

Impeccable Service and Condo

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to find this condo on VRBO and contact the owner two years ago. He and his staff are outstanding! They are so responsive and customer service oriented; always a pleasure to interact with. The condo is extremely clean and inviting. Very spacious. The view is spectacular. The kitchen is very user-friendly and beautiful. The dining room table is large. The chairs are easy to move from the table to the living room. The sofa bed is very comfortable. There is a lot of closet space and room to put away your belongs. The linens are a nice quality. The welcome basket of goodies is such a warm gesture. We cannot say enough positive things about the owners, the unit and how they have elected to furnish and decorate the space.

We were pampered guests in paradise. In our time of need, we were generously assisted.

My husband and I spent two "so-called winter months" in this beautiful, large, impeccably decorated, and thoroughly outfitted condo. The owner's family were professional, swift, and polite indeed in concluding these arrangements. This condo was Spring Clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the large size of the balcony. We loved the appliances, such as the Professional Profile that has infrared cooking to prepare moist salmon with a crust! There was everything that anyone would need, such as grilling utensils and lighters and corn-on-the-cob dishes/holders, etc. No beach resort in all of Europe can top The Shores. When we arrived, this family was delightfully helpful and showed us all around. All of the extra bedding for the sofa-sleeper was ironed and placed into clear plastic boxes in the closets. The walk-in closet was like a small bedroom. There was a lovely basket awaiting us of all kinds of goodies and wines. We saw this unit the year before when we staid at the Hotel Del along with other units at The Shores, and this was the only one that actually had the views that were depicted in the VRBO photos. (Incidentally, do not stay at the Del.) That is, the views that are shown for this condo are what you see when you are seated or lying in the rooms. Everything was perfect in this condo, in its Tower, and within the gardens, water features, pools, spas, tennis courts, gym, and beach walks of The Shores. WE HAVE ONE MORE PERSONAL THOUGHT. On a side note, and my husband I feel that it is appropriate to mention this and my mother absolutely insisted that I add this here, we wish to mention the extraordinary caring nature and kindness of the owner and his family. During our stay, when my husband and I flew to San Francisco for three days to attend a wedding, my elderly mother, who was there at the condo by herself, suddenly needed oral surgery. Members of the owner's family took her, stayed with her, and brought her back. They brought her ice cream and checked in on her periodically. They called us a number of times each day with an update on her. We were very much taken back by this kindness.

Owner's Response: Dr. and Dr. Swiss Family Robinson, Thank you for your very thoughtful and kind review. (We are directed not to mention names.) As you know, this is a family run business. My Dad started buying condos at The Shores in 1973, and our rentals have always been run by family members. When people stay at our condos, they are our "guests." We feel that we're responsible for their happiness. Having said this, we're always finding room for improvement. That's life. Thank you, Family Members

A month in paradise

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is as described, and shown in the photos.....and then some!

The owner is a delight to deal with. Any queries are answered quickly and correctly . We were shown around by a family member as Bill was on vacation, and we realised we were in for the best vacation ever. The welcome basket was much appreciated and the apartment was spotlessly clean ( and we are fussy!!!) It is extremely well stocked with ample glasses, China, utensils etc and all of good quality which all adds to the enjoyment. We cooked a lot in the apartment and at the Barbeques, and were never short of anything.

The bedroom was very large, and comfortable, and it was delightful to hear the ocean when the sliding door was left open. The closet space everywhere is amazing, and on arrival it was great to be able to hang everything up with space to spare and hide the cases so that we could pretend we never had to leave.

The complex is simply stunning. The pools are warm and inviting and there are always loungers available ( beach towels provided in the apartment). The security staff were friendly and efficient, and the quiet pool was generally quiet as promised.

We went with high expectations and these were not only met....but exceeded in every respect. Will we return? Are you a heartbeat!

My husband and I stayed at this condo from April 1 through June 29, 2015. That was our first vacation in this condo and our eleventh stay at The Shores. Dealing with the owner and his family was a pleasure. They replied to our emails quickly and their responses were clear and detailed. This condo is high up, is set back from the beach, has a breath-taking head-on view of the beach and Point Loma, has an especially large balcony, and is quiet. (We have learned that The Shores condos that face The Silver Strand and the Bay are not quiet.) The description and photos in VRBO are accurate. This unit has upscale furnishings and is outfitted with top-of-the-line appliances, sheets, dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, etc. We were greeted by the owner and shown around the condo and the building. There was an unexpected and lovely greeting basket filled with fruit, bread, crackers, cheeses, candies, sodas, wine, and the like. The condo was squeaky clean. In fact, the oven and refrigerator looked as though they had not been used. (On two previous vacations at The Shores, we had to ask the broker and an owner to please “re-clean” the units, and then ended up cleaning the units ourselves!) The sheets for the large and comfortable sofa-bed were folded and placed into zipped plastic containers in the closet. The sofa-bed was quite comfortable for two of our grandchildren who visited us. Everything was complete, new, and organized. The entertainment centers in the livingroom and bedroom are on the walls and the media equipment of both is out of sight. (We always have difficulty with the controls due to senior moments.) We made our return reservation during our first week there. Finally, we noted that all of the sheets had been crispy ironed with lemon scent. All of these touches made us feel very, very special. We highly recommend this family as hosts and this condominium.
