About Jeff Clary

I moved to New Orleans in 1993 to attend Tulane University. And the City that Care Forgot wasted no time sucking me in. As a young man, this Uptown neighborhood met my every want and need - a half block from Mardi Gras, a quick stumble to some of the best live music in the city at Tipitina's and Les Bons Temps, fine eats at Dick and Jenny's, and plenty of libations within striking distance. Now I am older, with three children, and though my needs have changed the neighborhood still provides - ice cream at Creole Creamery, snowballs at Hansen's Sno-Bliz, two playgrounds, a children's library, and pizza. And of course Mardi Gras.

Great, sunny place to call home base!

  • 5 of 5

The owner Jeff was great- easy to work and communicate with and provided great tips for the area - food, places to go, etc. Bright, large apartment with everything you need. Lots of closet space, kitchen has all you'll need. Nice front porch to put your feet up on at the end of the day. Plenty of on street parking and lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Definitely hope to stay here again!

The location was perfect, near stores and restaurants and a short walk from our son's house. We had a few issues that Jeff responded to quickly. the place was clean and ready for us when we arrived.

Due to $180 worth of cleaning and insurance makes it over priced for short stay

Spend some time on plumbing and add some additional co-ax and power cord so TV can be moved to be viewed in the living area as well as in bed. Quiet area with good parking and area aminaties.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the location. Prices are generally adjusted for "Special Event" weekends like Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, and Halloween (any excuse for costumed grown-ups shenanigans is a good one here). The Voodoo Music Experience and Halloween meant that your travel dates coincided with a weekend where there is considerably higher demand. I hope you had the opportunity to make it out to the festival grounds. If you are looking to stretch your dollar a little farther, come visit on a quieter weekend. It's also good to note that there are price breaks for longer stays. There is a price break for any stay of 1 week or more, and another price break for any stay of 1 month or more.

We had a wonderful stay! The house is just perfect! Enough for a family of four! Great location, charming decor, clean and cozy! Amazing neighborhood! We felt like locals! Near my favorite supermarket whole foods and a great variety of restaurants on magazine street! The owners wife Vitoria was helpful and extra sweet! We had such a wonderful thanksgiving!

around the corner from the best bar in the world!

  • 4 of 5

Great location -- a block from Magazine and the best bar in the world (Le Bon Temps!), easy to get uptown and downtown. The neighbor below didn't care for two seven year olds above him/her, although I think only one or two of his/her banging on the ceiling/floor was warranted. The front room gets light early as they're are sheers on the windows, which made sleeping in tough. Adults could push through the light issue, but if you travel with kids or light-sleeping adults, they'll need to stay in the bedroom.

All in all, great location and price.
