About Jeff Clary

I moved to New Orleans in 1993 to attend Tulane University. And the City that Care Forgot wasted no time sucking me in. As a young man, this Uptown neighborhood met my every want and need - a half block from Mardi Gras, a quick stumble to some of the best live music in the city at Tipitina's and Les Bons Temps, fine eats at Dick and Jenny's, and plenty of libations within striking distance. Now I am older, with three children, and though my needs have changed the neighborhood still provides - ice cream at Creole Creamery, snowballs at Hansen's Sno-Bliz, two playgrounds, a children's library, and pizza. And of course Mardi Gras.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The owner was very accommodating! He responded accordingly to our calls and requests. The apartment had everything that we needed for a 5 night stay. It is close to a lot of cafes and shops in Uptown. Overall the neighborhood had a really good feel for a low key stay in New Orleans

Everything we needed was within walking distance and we took advantage of it. Bakeries, restaurants, bars, and Magazine Street.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay! The house is just perfect! Enough for a family of four! Great location, charming decor, clean and cozy! Amazing neighborhood! We felt like locals! Near my favorite supermarket whole foods and a great variety of restaurants on magazine street! The owners wife Vitoria was helpful and extra sweet! We had such a wonderful thanksgiving!

around the corner from the best bar in the world!

  • 4 of 5

Great location -- a block from Magazine and the best bar in the world (Le Bon Temps!), easy to get uptown and downtown. The neighbor below didn't care for two seven year olds above him/her, although I think only one or two of his/her banging on the ceiling/floor was warranted. The front room gets light early as they're are sheers on the windows, which made sleeping in tough. Adults could push through the light issue, but if you travel with kids or light-sleeping adults, they'll need to stay in the bedroom.

All in all, great location and price.

I could not recommend this property more highly. Great location and nicely appointed accommodations. Could not ask for anything more. I really appreciated the great selection of books in his library.

Great apartment!

  • 5 of 5

I actually stayed here in October 2013 and forgot to leave a review at the time. I was in town for a few days for business, and I had a wonderful stay! I usually stay at hotels, but decided it would be nice to have a different experience, and I'm so glad that I found this apartment. The place was clean and cozy. If I had my own apartment in New Orleans, this is probably what I would want it to look like. I wasn't too sure about the area at first, but I found that it was very close to a street with lots of shops and restaurants, which was nice. I had a car, so I was easily able to get around to other areas in New Orleans. Not sure if that would be a problem for folks without a car. The only problem I ran into was a broken doorknob, but the owner came to fix it promptly. I would definitely stay here again!

Pleasant,attractive and convenient

  • 5 of 5

Our threesome were so pleased with the location, decor and amenties available in this apartment. as the saying goes we lacked for nothing. No strangers to visiting Nola all agreed we'd be happy if this place was where we really lived. Jeff was very helpful for our early arrival stowing our bags and flexible on check out which is a plus when you are coming and going by plane for sure and trying to maximize your time in the city.If you lack an auto the bus is a short block away and frequent. Favorite new spots explored required transit but worth it ... Bachanal in Bywater, Little Gem in CBT where Kermit gave quite a performance and The Three Muses on Frenchtown. Got some amazing coffee down Magazine @ District D where many treats are served and loved Sucre as Easter.
