About Robert Heinrich

I am a caretaker in charge of a very special home.

Robert Heinrich purchased this castle in 1995

Why Robert Heinrich chose Lake Winnipesaukee Area

This property is a well kept secret. The home was built in 1897 as a grand victorian cottage by AV Lincoln, the largest property owner in Charlestown,MA which was at the time the epicenter of Boston. Mr. Lincoln was the real-estate consultant for the railroad, which was booming at the time. Mr lincoln sighted the home perfectly in sech a way that it always is sunlit with the undisputed best view of Winnipesaukee and the Ossipee mountains anywhere.

What makes this castle unique

Every day is beautiful from The Lincoln Cottage, rain or shine. Watching a weather event from here is alost as good as a sunny day. Everything you need for a home away from home is here at the Lincoln Cottage.

A Vacation To Remember!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (3 generations) just returned from a most memorable week at the "Lincoln Cottage." In a word it was fantastic! The warmth and charm of the house is unending. The comfort of the rooms from top to bottom, and the delightful wrap around porch over looking beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee were all grand. For those who love to cook (and my family loves to cook and eat) the kitchen is a show stopper. It had everything we could want to prepare delicious meals. The beach was a perfect place for all of us to gather each day and to enjoy the refreshing, clear and clean lake. Evening campfires with delicious "S'mores" were a great way to end each day. Finally, Robert is a very gracious and engaging host. Thank you Robert for a truly wonderful week!

An Amazing Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most incredible weekend at this home. Everything you could need for a relaxing, fun time is there. Robert, the owner, was very responsive to questions from the time I made the reservation all the way through the end of our stay.

The private beach area was a perfect spot to relax in the evening around the fire pit, and the boathouse worked well for docking the boat we rented for a day from a nearby company.

The house has multiple areas that are great for gathering your group, whether for meals, playing games, watching a movie in surround sound, or just chatting on the wraparound porch with incredible views of the lake. Also, if you enjoy cooking, this is the house you'll want to rent! The high-quality appliances are great for making any meal for a large group. Before we even left our group was talking about how much we'd love to stay here again.

Stunning views, wonderful host, we may be back!!

  • 5 of 5

A large group of friends and I spent a long weekend at the Lincoln Cottage and we may be back, it was that great. The house is stunning and so historic. Every piece of furniture tells a story. Every floor has breathtaking views, but the third floor takes the cake on that. The kitchen is fully equipped, and coming from a profession chef's wife, that says something.

A few things to note if you're renting the property with small children: there is a road between the house and the boat house, which doesn't show in the pictures. You need to cross the road to get to the boat house. That being said, the road is quite calm and we didn't have a problem. Also: it being an old house, the floors creak and you have to take extra precaution after putting the babes to bed to move quietly about the second and third floor. The third floor is not the safest for young children. Some windows are floor height, and the staircase is steep. As long as you've got the right stuff (baby gates recommended), it works beautifully.

Robert was a very personable host; he gave my Husband and I a detailed tour before all of the other guests showed up. We were stunned by the beauty of the home and the fact that he's willing to share it with others!

Despite the large size and beautiful deck, our group of 13 adults spent a bulk of the time in the amazing kitchen, but I guess that's what happens when you love food and organize your entire weekend around it :-).

Beautiful deck, rocking chairs for all. Just overall one of the nicest places we've stayed.

Thank you for sharing with us, Robert!!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much. I agree with almost everything you said except that the lower panes of the windows on the top floor are secured inn place, only the top portion moves. one would have to climb over 4 feet to fall out. I sleep under the floor that you said creeks. I find Its good to know what time the youngsters finally went to bed....

PERFECT 3 GENERATION LONG WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5

We just got home from an amazing long weekend at the Lincoln Cottage with our children and grandchildren. The house was way beyond our expectations. From the gourmet kitchen to the 3rd floor pool and game room, the oversized dining room, and the beautiful porch with a gorgeous lake view the house had more than everything that we could have possibly wanted. I would definitely recommend this lovely home and hope to rent it again myself.

Beautiful Home Great For A Weekend With Friends

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Lincoln Cottage for a weekend with a group of friends. The house is huge and held our group perfectly. The kitchen is amazing and was big enough to allow everyone to hang out and socialize while cooking. The 1st and 3rd floor are a perfect set up for drinks and playing cards at night. Robert was a pleasure to work with. We hope to rent the home again next winter
