|Minimum Stay||3 - 5 nights|
Private post and beam style chalet tucked way back in the woods with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Minutes from stores and attractions yet so wooded and quiet. Endless amount of things to do in the area all four seasons. Drive back the long gravel drive to this wooded oasis. The many decks and porches will beckon you to sit and relax but the saline pool will beg you to dive in. Inside you'll think you just stepped into a log cabin. So much beautiful wood work and soaring ceilings. The floor to ceiling fireplace will call out for a blaze but the chefs kitchen will distract you and get the taste buds working over time. The down stairs bedrooms are sizable and very comfy and there are two full baths on this level. Travel up the spiral stair case and check out the third bedroom which is a master. Once you slip into that two person jetted tub the cares of the world will slip away.
My husband and I purchased this property so many years ago. He's gone now and I don't use it as much as we did. Think it's time to let others enjoy it!
We needed an escape from our hectic city lives and jobs. This place has helped to keep us sane over the years.
Plenty of privacy, very comfortable layout, killer kitchen, nice pool. Plenty to do nearby. Fireplace.
We rented this house for a week away from NYC. Easy to get to, a great location and very quiet. The house was exactly as described, wood inside and out. Not a show house, but clearly a loved and lived in place, with everything we needed. The pool is great, deep enough to jump in at one end and shallow at the other and heated! Bedrooms are all a good size, and we had 3 couples staying in comfort (one couple per room), each with their own bathrooms. Everything worked, really well, fast wifi (I'd guess 50MB download, 5MB upload), central A/C worked great, and we had 90 degree days. Kitchen had every kind of pots and utensils we needed, and more than enough plates and mugs. Dishwasher, washer/dryer/ gas BBQ, cable TV, all great. The manager was incredibly attentive, checking in via email every day, and preempting everything we needed. Our little 9lb dog loved the week as well. We had a great time with absolutely nothing to complain about. We're planning on coming back.
Thank you for the wonderful vacation. The house was perfect for us and our dogs. The grand-kids loved the pool. And the peace and quiet was good for the soul.
We stayed here in July and were very pleased with the property. It is a lovely chalet type house with a large swimming pool surrounded by a deck. The house was well appointed and comfortable, and was pet friendly. It is nicely secluded in the woods and the house was spotless. We would highly recommend this house but not for the last week in July, because we want to come back next year!
The property manager did everything he could to make our stay comfortable, but the property was just not ready.
The chef's kitchen was not well equipped, the spectacular double oven Garland stove didn't actually work. The heated pool was only occasionally heated, and started draining at one point. But the most stunning disappointment was the smell. Clearly the owner is a pet-lover (you can see all the dog beds in the interior photos), and the hair, the smell of pets, and the smell of curry powder, was overwhelming. We spent the first entire day of our vacation cleaning, including an hour on the gas grill (important, because the stove wasn't working). We spent the second day with the property manager trying to get the pool to work (apparently, the people before us had fiddled with the controls in a really bad way). It worked for a while, and then stopped later. Eventually we were able to clean the house pretty well, and air it out, but if anyone in your group is really allergic to pet hair that could be a big deal.
This could be a really nice place. The property manager really pulled out all the stops to do what he could, and we really appreciated that. Just about everything that went wrong for us could be completely fixed by now ... certainly before we'd go back we'd call the manager and make sure those things are ready.
The setting for this cabin is absolutely gorgeous. The location is "just right" for Saugerties and Woodstock ... and both of those towns are terrific fun. The deck was wonderful. We were a bit surprised that the pool is an above-ground pool (from the pictures it looks much more built in than it really is), but still ... that decking is built right up to the pool so it works out great. And that fireplace is just beautiful. Bottom line: There's a *lot* to like about this cabin. But be cautious, and check with the manager before renting.
Hope this helps!
This rental is a hidden secret.The wood work in house is awesome.Well stocked kitchen clean big-screen TV and a stereo perfect.The pool is refreshing clean and located right outside the back screen door.The deck is real inviting and relaxing just been power washed.The house is very private surrounded by woods and very peaceful .I really enjoyed my stay and plan on returning soon.
Located in the Catskill Park with endless things to do. North Lake, South Lake, Minnewaska, Mohonk are all nearby. Endless trails to roam and views to die for. The Hudson River is very close by for boating and fishing. Woodstock and Saugerties are very near and two of the coolest little towns out there.
