About Konstantina Gourgiotou
Born and raised in Athens, Greece. Studied French and Greek Literature at the University of Athens and obtained also the certification as an interpreter French/Greek/French. Pursued a Masters Degree at Rutgers the State University of New Jersey where I taught for two years. After I graduated from there I moved to San Francisco, CA where I went back to school to become a software engineer. Lived there for fifteen years working as a software engineer. We (my late husband and I) formed a software engineering company which I sold when I was left alone and decided to move back to Greece. Dedicated my time to being a full time mother in Greece and raised both children to two wonderful adults. Have travelled extensively in the previous years and now I feel content discovering the natural beauty of so many little villages in this country. Maybe later I ll resume travelling in some other exotic places. Have been involved in some community work, studying italian, reading and enjoying a peaceful life. Decided to share my home with some selected individuals who wish to form memories in this area respectfully enjoying the premises.
Konstantina Gourgiotou purchased this Villa in 2002
Why Konstantina Gourgiotou chose Saronikos
When returned to Greece I chose to live in Lagonissi because it is a very privileged area close to everything and yet quiet. The area the villa is located is the old center of Lagonissi very close to the main road Leoforos Kalyvion where you can find everything at a 400 meter distance and also close to the coastal road and the beach at 800 meters. I love the coastal line and have created lots of great memories in this property!
What makes this Villa unique
Close to all the amenities but away from the noise in a quiet private street that all the owners of the villas in the strip decided not to pave it so that it is not used as a short cut to the main road from speedy drivers! Very bright and well situated with the 900 meter lot the guest has all the amenities required for a relaxing vacation. Lots of windows and lots of light, many seating areas in the yard, a nice swing for kids and adults alike, a basketball hoop, and a nice game room to enjoy. Lots of books to your disposal and a lot more...
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Exceeded All Expectations – one of the best rentals!
Amazing villa within walking distance (10-15 mins) of everything: beach, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and some very nice bakeries. The house is super clean, smells nice, is very well looked after, it has all the modern amenities. A wonderful, fully equipped kitchen with “everything”, lovely bedrooms with crisp sheets, multiple bathrooms, lots of toiletries, lots of towels and all the day to day basics required. The Kitchen is very well stocked, and the dishwasher was a great plus! The pool is a very good size, very refreshing and wonderful. The yard is impeccably maintained, has lots of space and an assortment of things for kids. The other review mentioned the lack of overhead showers … not sure what they meant since we found two showers inside and one outside. The house also has a bathroom with a bathtub. The yard is very private and has a serene feel away from it all. There is also a BBQ (coal-based) outside which we used and multiple shaded areas with tables and comfy chairs.
We found the general area very quiet, full of friendly people during our daily walks. We did not have a car, taxis were easy to arrange and convenient for day trips to other beaches, Athens and the Temple of Poseidon. There is also public transportation close by which we did not use. If you plan on lots of day trips a rental car would be more cost effective.
Given how busy Athens can be, this house is an Oasis close to everything and yet secluded enough to make you feel like you are at one of the islands. The owner is fantastic, super accommodating, speaks impeccable English and was always just a call away to answer any question we had. The whole experience gave us the feeling that we were looked after by family.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only negative thing is that we are now spoiled from this experience and it will be hard for other places to live up to this place! Wish we could give it 100 stars.
Great property and location
Lovely property and very helpful owner. Location is fantastic for local amenities, the beach and day trips, though a car is recommended. Only reasons not a full 5 star review are: no sunscreen allowed in the pool, €50/day pool heating charge, no overhead showers available in the house and that dogs in the local area are constantly barking (so light sleepers may struggle but imagine that problem exists for many similar properties in Greece).
Thank you for your feedback and I am glad you had an enjoyable stay, though disappointed it was not 5 stars. I wanted to clarify a few points in response and for the benefit of future guests who read this review.
I fully understand the need for sun protection for all.Unfortunately we have had bad experiences in the past with guests applying large amounts and not allowing sunscreen to be absorbed into their skin before entering the pool. This has resulted in damage to pool because:
• The water PH gets disturbed
• The pool lining is full of oil and dirty and very hard to clean
• The pool machinery is damaged from the excessive oil.
I will be more explicit with guests about this in the future so they understand the reasoning behind this and leave adequate time before entering the water.
Pool Heating Charge
This was conveyed when you initially showed interest in heating the pool and so I am less sympathetic here! I informed you up front of the daily cost and you opted to turn it on for a day. For this reason, to complain about it afterwards feels unfair. This cost is not arbitrary and definitely not designed to generate a profit for me. It covers the cost of fuel and electricity to heat the body of water for a 5m by 10m pool. Both of those utility costs are exorbitant in this country as a result of the financial crisis and government taxes, which is why the rates seem high to tourists. It also does not cover the cost of extra visits by the pool technician to turn the heating on / off.
The house is equipped with shower heads in all bathrooms. Overhead showers are not common in Greece, we hold the shower heads and direct them wherever is needed! If this was an important consideration for you I would suggest asking for it before making the reservation. I would have been happy to take photos of the bathrooms for you.
We live in quiet suburbs slightly outside the city and while we do not have a dog, our neighbors do. You are the first guest to make this complaint but unfortunately there is little we could do about it. If I had a device that could turnoff the dogs’ barking I would take it to Shark Tank to get funding and become a millionaire!
Thank you for the feedback and know that you are more than welcome to stay with us again.
Tolles Haus, nette Vermieterin, alles in Gehnähe
