I am Hawaiian and from the area. My family and I live just down the street. I invest in real estate and own several homes throughout the islands. We love to travel and visit new places around the world. After visiting so many places we learned about what a traveler needed. We decided to provide such a place with our own vacation rental.
Lavish Getaways purchased this townhome in 2013
Hale Maluhia is by far the most beautiful property I own in Hawaii. We put just over $3 million dollars into it. We built it similar to the quality of your up scale resorts. Granite countertops, luxury appliances, beautiful flooring, very clean! Here you can relax in either a 3bed or 4 bed townhome. The property has very beautiful professional landscaping with palm trees and coconut trees. You can walk to the beach which is only 900 feet away. Enjoy the real Hawaii vacation by staying in the local area, rather than the normal over crowded Waikiki.
Plenty of parking (2 designated covered stalls, plus extra stalls) - BBQ Grills - Large property to play outside - North Shore beaches just minutes away - Most beaches in the area always empty!
We had a group of five adults and two infant twins, five months old. Great play to stay! Plenty of room, and a very clean, well maintained property. At first appearances the property location looks a little questionable but the surrounding neighbors keep to themselves or give a friendly aloha wave now and then. It is easy walking distance from the beach and well located for places like the Polynesian Culture Centre, Turtle Bay and some other beautiful park beaches heading further up the North Shore. Roosters crowing will let you know when it's 5am but after a couple of days they are hardly noticeable and after all, this is the country. There were a couple of nights the locals partied but if you close the windows it muffles the sound and during the week there was no noise at all. There were plenty of towels, and a well stocked kitchen for cooking. A box of chocolates in the fridge was a nice touch. Thank you! Jenna dropped in to make sure we were all doing well and had no problems. The place was relatively cool with the many fans that were supplied and the beds were super comfy! The TV could have been a little bigger but we weren't there to watch Netflix so that's no big deal. We bought our own snorkel gear and left a body board that we purchased but the water shoes sure came in handy. All in all this is a great place to stay and if we come back to the North Shore again we likely will look in to this place again. Food tips: North Shore Tacos just up the road, yum! Giovanni Shrimp truck, yum! Mike's Huli Chicken truck, yum! Ted's Bakery, I'm going through withdrawals, yum! And of course good old home cooking because the kitchen is perfect!
Mahalo and Aloha, Jenna!

We were extremely happy with this home. I believe it is better than the pictures show. We stayed here with our seven children. It was the perfect amount of space for our family. It felt like a home away from home. It is an easy walking distance to the beach. The neighborhood seems nice. Roosters crow at 5 am every morning, but that didn't bother us, as we have chickens of our own. If the windows are shut, you can't hear them anyway. This spot is perfect on the North Shore. Easily accessible to Honolulu or the West Side of Oahu. There is a nice grocery store just up the road, and Turtle Bay Resort which has public access. If we ever come back to Oahu, we will definitely stay here again.
I rented a 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom units on 8/30 thru 9/6 for my family of 17 people. We were very disappointed to find the units very uncleaned and not what it looks like from the photos online. Here are a list of our complaints: floors dirty, windows/screens dirty (especially front doors), refrigerator exterior grimy (dispenser tray full of water), interior of kitchen cabinets filthy, some mattress covers and skirts had tears on them, bedroom sheets & towels smelled, pillows should all be replaced, mold on shower curtains, tubs not clean, vaccums don't work, cloth on dining table chairs in 4-bedroom unit were dirty and torn. Fans dirty--like sauna in rooms. We bought cleaning solutions at Long's and spent several hours wiping everything down, and washing bedroom sheets & towels.
I selected this place because of the online photos and positive reviews, but this property is not what is advertised.
We will not return to this property and will not recommend.
If you are looking for a "resort" atmosphere, consider staying in Waikiki. If you love amazing ocean & mountain views, access to multiple / great water sport locations in minutes and awesome local cuisine (i.e. food trucks, Romy's garlic shrimp, Wily Wily's shave ice, Angel's macadamia nut ice cream, Mike's Huli Huli chicken, Teds chocolate ahupia pie) then this location for you. It is a beach house with the security of a complex but be prepared to wake up with the roosters as they roam the neighborhood. This wasn't an issue for my group (5 people ages 17 to 51) as we were out from dawn to dusk soaking up all the island has to offer. Our unit was a 3br / 1 ba lower, street unit. Parking was great but living room gets street / parking lot noise so plan accordingly. Kahea was great to work with and readily accessible throughout our stay. Loved having a unit with laundry. Came home with clean clothes! Thanks for everything!
We loved our stay! It was very clean and very accommodating for our large group. The house was stocked with everything we would need plus more. Thank you for helping us to have a great experience here in Hawai'i. We will definitely be staying again!
We just got back from a wonderful 7 night 8 day vacation with the family to the North Shore in Oahu for our daughters College Graduation. There was 8 of us in our party. Three couples and 2 teenage kids. For the price and location the 3 bedroom, 2 bath town home turned out to be a great place for us to stay. It was very clean, and roomy and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the kitchen which had plenty of space and all the pots and pans and utensils we needed for our stay. We also enjoyed the large fridge which fit our week supply of food from a trip we made to Costco when we arrived. The washer and dryer were also plenty large. There was also plenty of closet and drawer space. The bathrooms were ordinary but very clean and worked great for what we needed. Also had plenty of bathroom towels that were provided. Most of our time was spent on the beach, but we enjoyed dinners at the town home. The only problems was the trash can was full when we arrived and apparently was not emptied on Friday we arrived. So we had to find other places to dump trash. That was taken care of on the following Friday when we left. Also there is only one barbecue for the four town homes so had to share when others where using it. The boogie boards were both broken and so was one of the snorkels. But we had our own beach stuff so we were fine. The 8 beach towels provided worked great. Things I would remember to bring...extra laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, soap and shampoo. There is not enough for the whole week. The roosters can also get very loud all night and into the morning, but it's Hawaii roosters are everywhere. We enjoyed all the fans in every room and had a nice breeze with all the windows open. So overall we had a great trip and were very happy with the kind of place we rented for the price and location. It was quick access to the north shore which is where he hung out for the majority of our trip! Hope this helps!! Aloha!
Hauula Hawaii - the best place to get to know Real Hawaii! Most visitors stay in Waikiki and end up going to over crowded beaches. Stay on the North Shore and experience the real Hawaii life style. Laid back community - Hauula is beautiful with lots of white sandy beaches and no one around. Enjoy your private beach any time! This property is only 5 mins from the Polynesian Cultural Center!
