An elegant, yet Rustic Log Cabin nestled in the heart of the North Country
At the Rusty Compass Retreat you will find all of the comforts that you are looking for! A new build in 2016 has an elegant Rustic flare to it, with "Rust" used in all of the accents! 2 bedrooms on the main floor with a queen sized bed in each, and a loft with 2 twin sized beds. The bathroom has an amazing earthy tiled, and very roomy shower. On demand hot water, so after a day of any activity you can rest assured that you can cleanse the day off of you and relax in the large living space. The kitchen is fully equipped with an apron front copper sink, full sized refrigerator and stove, and plenty of counter space. We provide you with clean towels and linens, complimentary soap and shampoo, and all that you will need in the kitchen.
The wrap around porch has views of Magalloway Mountain, downtown Pittsburg, and the smaller mountains as a backdrop, with a gas grill if you prefer to cook outside.
We are located about 200 yards from snowmobile trail 128, about a 1/2 mile from the Junction of 20/128, with direct access through the back of the property, and 1/2 mile from a great stretch of fishing on the Connecticut River. ATV access is not direct, but there is plenty of room to park your trailers, and plenty of room to unload your snowmobiles with our horseshoe driveway.
We built this log home with our own hands, entirely with lots of love and care, and that will reflect immediately when you walk through the door.

My passion for the North Country, the Outdoors, and building brought me to the beauty of Pittsburg. For my dream cabin, I had a builder build the shell, which I was able to help with for several weeks. When the builder was finished I completed the rest of the cabin from the studs out. Walls, flooring, trim, kitchen, bathroom, all of it! All of the details in the finish work were my creation. I love them all! From the sealant of the exterior, to every decoration hanging inside, they were done with my two hands. I have a passion for creativity, which I believe reflects in all aspects of this awesome getaway!

What makes this Cabin unique
The wrap around porch is a dream for anyone who likes the outdoors. Sitting out there while it rains is simply amazing. Constant protection from the elements, but still being comfortable outside is something that I truly love about it!

Rusty Compass Cabin is a beautiful cabin set in an idyllic location .
We arrived at Rusty Cabin after a long snowy drive and were welcomed into a warm, cozy cabin set in the hills. The wood interior was beautifully decorated and provides the cozy ambiance you’re looking for in a country cabin. The trails are literally out the door and still close to the town. If you’re looking for the quintessential cabin in the country for your getaway this is it!!
Fantastic Snowmobile Getaway

Don’t think you could ask for anything more!
Beautifully built, cozy cabin
My family of four and I spent a couple nights at the Rusty Compass Retreat and it was everything we wanted and more! The open floor plan and comfortable bedrooms allowed us to spread out and not feel cramped while we were in the cabin. It was meticulously cleaned and prepared for renters (towels, wifi, bedding, shampoo/conditioner, cooking utensils, etc.) to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as comfortable.
The reason we were in the Pittsburg area was actually to look for an investment property for ourselves, and we were somewhat disappointed nothing on the market seemed to compare to the Rusty Compass. It's absolutely one of a kind and everything you're looking for for a cozy cabin getaway!
We have direct access to Snowmobile Trail 128, and are located 1/2 mile from a great Fly Fishing spot on the Connecticut River!
