About Farmer Pierre
We are a family farm. A collaborative effort in farming holistically and in harmony with nature. We are a medium sized farm. We are dedicated to making the most of the land and in a way that gives back to nature and the community. We undertook this as a means to create a food solution for our kids and their kids and their kids... and yes that adds up to a very large number.
Farmer Pierre purchased this Farmhouse in 2015
Why Farmer Pierre chose Avondale
We chose this property as it was located in a favorable distance to each of our children and their families. It had a sizable amount of land on which we could farm sustainably. The house was in need of a lot of love and care which we gave it!
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Sitting on the porch, or in the hot tub, or lounging under a tree by the pond you will see cows, goats and chickens going about their day. Foraging, grazing or taking a dip in the river to cool off. You will see protect barn swallows swooping down to grab a bug. You will see hawks and perhaps the eagle that lives down by the river. Nature is in abundance and all around. It's peaceful and beautiful.

Couldn't ask for a better multi family vacation home
We stayed at the house in early August 2019.
The house was impeccable. Very clean, very new. The furniture and kitchen and bathroom fixtures were new. Everything about the house was new.
We had four families with 6 children ranging in age from 2.5-10 and none of them were bored at any time during our 4 day stay. Farmer Aaron took us all on a guided tour of the active farm and showed us the livestock on the farm. The kids also made their own tie dye T-shirts in the front of the house.
The kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware and tableware. Plenty of cookware and grilling utensils as well. There isn't really a need to bring food from home as there are a bunch of supermarkets in the local area. There is a super long wooden table in the dining room that accommodated all 16 of us easily.
Media room is awesome - recliners along with blankets to snuggle in. FYI - the AC is super cold!
Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and there is a communal bathroom right off the pool (with access from the pool and from the inside of the house) which is super convenient.
Saltwater pool was great; there are some pool noodles available but we brought our own. Just be advised that the pool is 6 feet deep in the deepest area. Hot tub was also very nice especially at night after a round of golf. The house comes with a ton of towels so there's no need to bring extra from home.
Washer and dryer is on the first floor which makes life easy washing the aforementioned towels.
You will know when the cows are close;
The dogs are a little anxious at first but they will warm up to you very quickly;
The grill might need a good scrubbing, but just leave all the burners on high for 30 minutes before cooking to turn everything into ash.
All in all we are very grateful for finding this wonderful home within 3 hours drive of us (we are from NYC and Long Island)
Definitely going to look at booking the house again in the near future. The house is perfect for multi family and extended family stays, especially with children. And thanks again Farmer Aaron for your hospitality!
Awesome all around
Great site. Perfect for large families!
Working Farm is a blast
The kids loved having the chickens roaming around all week. It was fun having the farmers work the farm during the day. The pool and hot tub were a big hit with everyone. The movie room was a nice respite at night. The bedrooms and bunk rooms were ideal for large families. The kitchen and dining area with the large barnwood kitchen table was room for all of us for meals and for gathering during the day.
Farm Livin’ Is The Life For Me
Our family had an awesome time on the farm. Plenty of space for all 16 of us. The house was very clean and well maintained, and had every luxury we could ask for. Farmer Aaron met us upon arrival and gave us a brief tour of the house, and was available during the entire visit should we have any questions or issues. The whole family loved the heated saltwater pool, and the “kids” young and old had a blast playing video games in the in the theater room. We also took the farm tour and the hydroponic tours while there. Farmer Aaron and Farmer John took the time to show us all the ins and outs of the farm. The kids got to pet the chickens, goats and bunnies. They help collect the day’s eggs, and we even bought some to take home. Our only regret was that we had other plans on the day we left that prevented us from buying some of the fresh beef available from the farm. All and all, it was a 5 star experience, and we were all talking about when we might schedule our next trip back!
Thank you Farmer Pierre, Farmer Aaron and Farmer John!
This is a special, very unique getaway. The farm is real and fun. The house is large and inviting and perfect for a big group. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming.
