|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
I offer a spacious 128 square meter (1377 square feet) two bedroom apartment in a quiet courtyard building on Nevsky Prospect, the most famous street and the focal point of the historical center of St. Petersburg.
The Master bedroom has king bed (180 x 200 cm) and connected luxury bathroom with jacuzzi, bidet, heated floors, heated towel holder, and more.
The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed (160 x 200) plus an extra single bed (90 x 200).
The kitchen features gas stove, full sized oven, microwave, full size refrigerator, expandable dining table with 6 matching chairs, dishwasher, washing machine, all dishes and silverware for 6, full supply of pots, pans and more.
The living room features an L shaped sectional couch that can be converted to a double bed. There is also an executive sized desk and comfortable leather office chair.
The second floor loft features a second bathroom with tiled in shower plus a medium sized sauna that can accommodate 2.
There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the apartment, 4 separate air conditioning units, free high speed WiFi, cable TV, safe, Etc.
I can provide baby crib or inflatable air mattress bed for small extra fee (for delivery, set up, and extra linens).
All linens and towels are provided. The apartment is exceptionally clean and I take great pride in it. I clean it myself.
The apartment is conveniently located on the 3rd floor and there is an elevator (some stairs still required). The windows face a quiet courtyard, but the entrance of the apartment is just 30 meters from the Nevsky Prospect entrance way - the best of both worlds.
There are supermarkets, ATM/Bankomats, money exchanges, coffee houses, cafes/restaurants, fast food, flower shops, wine stores, post office, and everything you could possibly need all within very short walking distances (5 minutes or less). Bars, nightclubs, movie theaters, live music, and pretty much every kind of entertainment imaginable is all within equally short walking distance.
All the historical sites in the Center can be reached by foot, typically within 15 minutes or LESS. There are also busses that go up an down Nevsky Prospect constantly. The nearest Metro station (M. Mayakovskaya) is 1 or 2 minutes walk. The main train station (Moscow Railway Station) is less than 10 minutes walk from apartment. Nevsky Prospect is approximately 30 minute drive from Pulkovo Airport when there is light traffice - or closer to an hour with heavy traffic.

Irina Rodgers purchased this apartment in 2002
My family inherited this apartment a number of years ago and put a lot of sweat into making it the home it is now. It's simply too big for me to live in by myself, and after a few years of renting it long term, I've decided to rent it out to visitors and let others enjoy it's magnificent location. There's nothing quite like living on Nevsky Prospect. It might be the greatest people watching street in all the world. And it's so close to so many famous sites.
It's just rare to find such a large apartment in the historical center, because most large apartments have been broken into smaller units or even turned into mini-hotels. The extra size lets us add the extra elements like sauna, 2.5 bathrooms, expandable dining table, etc.
I feel one of the best benefits of renting this apartment is me. I'm your local friend and knowledge base in St. Petersburg. Do you need help with visa support to Russia? No problem, I can arrange that for you. Do you need help buying theater tickets or train tickets? No problem, I can do that for you - even offer some tips. Do you need help getting a local SIM card (mobile phone account)? No problem, I can do that. Do you need your refrigerator stocked before you arrie? No problem, just give me a list of what you need. Do you need a baby crib? No problem, just let me know in advance. Do you want somebody to pick you up from the airport for a reasonable price? No problem, just send me your flight info and I'll have somebody waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. Do you need help arranging tours? I do that for a living. And so much more. I've spoken English all my life, and I'm always just a quick phone call from talking to you.
This apartment is conveniently located on Nevsky Prospect and very close to the Metro. Irina was a please to work with throughout the process -- very quick to respond to e-mails, completed the visa invitations and arranged our transportation to and from the airport. We were met by Chuck, the property manager (an American who has lived in St. Petersburg for the past decade so obviously English is not a problem) and he gave a thorough tour of the property.
Our son spent 2 nights on the sofa bed and claimed it was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this apartment.
The only possible issue for someone might be the steps as mentioned in a previous review although they are not steep and the bathtub/shower in the Master Bath is very high so for a short person or elderly person the other bathroom would be better. These certainly were not a problem for us.
Our group of friends enjoyed our stay in Irina's apartment immensely. Every major consideration was perfect: It was clean; it was modern and comfortable; it was in convenient location, it sure seemed safe; and Irina was wonderful host who made us feel we had a friend in St. Petersburg.
If I had to dig deep for something to complain about or something to warn others about, probably it being on the 3rd floor without an elevator comes to mind. Technically, the building has an elevator, but the way the building is laid out, it's not very practical to use - too complicated to explain here, but if you saw it, you would understand.
The elevator aside, this apartment in the center of St. Petersburg is really perfect for groups or big families.
Our stay in St Petersburg was incredible due in no small part to Irina and her amazing apartment.
Irina assisted from the very beginning of our travel experience to the very end. She was unlike any owner I have ever dealt with. She was always there to assist from Visa application to tours of the city. The location of this apartment was amazing! We walked everywhere!! I highly recommend this apartment and look forward to coming back some day!
My husband and I and the couple we travel with often stayed in Irina's apartment for seven nights. We've used VRBO and other sites to book apartment stays throughout Europe and this was one of the best. It was spacious, clean, very well located - our home away from home! As others have commented, it is right on Nevsky prospect, steps to restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, metro and tram, but very quiet and peaceful in the aparment. Easily walking distance to the main attractions, but we used the efficient and inexpensive public transportation as well. We arrived on the Sapsan train from Moscow and the train station is just a few minutes walk to the apartment. Communication with Irina from the moment we booked was excellent and very helpful. She was there to meet us promptly and we even arranged a walking tour of the city with her for the next day. Wifi in the apartment worked well and we had all the other comforts of home. Highly recommended!
Great property in a great location on Nevsky Prospect. Walking distance to several major attractions such as St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Savior on Spilled Blood, and the Hermitage (there are also several trolleybus stops and a metro station conveniently located nearby if you are tired of walking after a day of sightseeing). Dozens of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops within walking distance as well. Once we booked this property for our stay, the property owner, Irina, emailed with us to ensure that the apartment would be set up to suit our needs. She also let us know that she provides several tours in both Russian and English (we didn't have time for a tour but were very interested). Irina met us right on time the day of our arrival and showed us around the apartment to make sure everything was to our liking. She was also very helpful recommending things to see, where to eat, etc. The property faces an interior courtyard, and so provides a central location without all of the noise of facing Nevsky Prospect. Everything about the apartment was fantastic. It has been recently remodeled and was very clean and well maintained. The sauna was a fantastic bonus, and was a great way to relax at the end of each day. The photos and description of the property are very accurate. There were plenty of glasses, dishes, and cookware so that we could make dinner and feel right at home. Would highly recommend this property!
My family couldn't have been happier with Irina's apartment in St. Petersburg. Everything was exactly as shown online, but it seemed larger in person; probably because of the high ceilings. The location was perfect for us. We walked 5-10 minutes from the train station straight down the main street of Nevsky Prospect and we were there. It was about a 15-minute walk to the main square; with so many interesting things to see along the way. Irina was such a joy to meet and work with. She answered all our questions and gave us so many wonderful recommendations on dining and entertainment options, as well as what were the best times to visit the many great tourists sites we had on our to-do list. With her excellent English and attention to service, she gave us peace-of-mind right from the start.
I would be hard-pressed to find any faults with my stay, but if I had to mention one thing, it would be that the elevator stops sort of between floors. It's not a problem, but just seemed unusual to us; although we found out this is not unusual in many buildings there. You just need to walk up or down a set of stairs each time you use the elevator. This would only be of concern for those using a wheelchair.
Thanks to Irina for a great stay. St. Petersburg is a beautiful and amazing city; and our home there for 4 nights was absolutely perfect.
Nevsky Prospect is the hub of center of the city. St. Petersburg isn't just a historical city with sites. It's a living, breathing metropolis that is growing by the day and Nevsky is it's heart. In addition to the touristic sites the city is famous for, Nevsky Prospect and the many sidestreets around it are filled with restaurants, cafes, pubs, bars, nightclubs, live music venues and more. St. Petersburgers come to Nevsky to experience the most active part of the city, and there is a melting pot of foreigners and Russians enjoying the atmosphere.
Within walking distance (or very short taxi) of my apartment, these are some of what you will find:
Palace Square and Hermitage Museum
Saviour of Spilled Blood Cathedral
Peter & Paul's Fortress
Political Museum of Russian History
Alexander Pushkin's Apartment
Dostoevsky Memorial Museum
St. Petersburg Conservatorie Theater
There are literally 100's of restaurants within 15 minutes walk of apartment, suitable for any budget and every cuisine.
There are many bars and clubs nearby. Here are some districts where a number of places have sprung up close to each other
Konyushney Square - About 20 establishments ranging from pubs to trendy clubs
Sadovaya Street - A number of very trendy clubs
Liteiny Prospect - A series of crowded clubs mostly for younger crowds.
bars and clubs are cosntantly closing and new clubs opening. Tell me what you are interested in, and I can advise you. I may even join you.
St. Petersburg Metro System
The Metro/Subway system is a tourist attraction in itself with most of the central stations decorated in architecural splendor. It's also a very convenient and inexpensive way to get around the city, wiith tickets costing about $1. Trains come every 5 minutes when it's slow, and 2 minutes during peak times. The nearest Metro Station to my apartent is Metro Station Mayakovskaya. This is a green line station and it connects underground to the Redline station Vosstania.
St. Petersburg Circus
An often overlooked site is just 10 minute's walk from apartment. Russian Circus performers are famous world wide.
Something you are interested in that you don't see here? Just ask. I've lived in St. Petersburg for many years and am a licensed tour guide. There's probably nothing I can't help you with.
