For even more recreation, Truckee is just two miles away, and Kings Beach/Lake Tahoe are just six miles. The convince of staying so close to the gondola for skiing and not having to drive from Northstar are the best part of this efficient room. We enjoyed walking through the village after skiing. The beds have a foam mattress over an old mattress. They are long over due to be replaced. There were no coffee filters for the mini coffee pot. The unit is well used at the end of ski season and needs some through cleaning and a restock of supplies.
Our main problem with this unit was that the parking permit for the assigned space was taken from the room by the previous occupant. Vacasa was not responsive to the urgency for getting a replacement permit. I was told to move my car from the assigned parking place, and hope my car would not get towed or ticketed. I left many voice mails and Vacasa did not return my calls. Late the next day, I finally reached a real person. I had to demand that a replacement permit be brought to me in snowy weather. The customer service person tried to tell me that the roads were too bad for driving (which was not true). This unit was not worth the hassle or waste of a ski day to solve Vacasa's problems with the unit. I will not stay in a Vacasa unit again. Vacations are a time to relax and ski.
We absolutely loved this place and the location, fell in love until we went to bed. The beds in this place need to be replaced. My guess is they are the original beds from the condo. So great place but bad nights sleep!
This condo was perfect for our little family of 4. It is lovely, has all amenities, and is steps from the gondola. A new bar has been set in Northstar!
The price is considerably less than other units and the location is only a few minutes walk to the gondola. Both are pluses. Plenty of good quality towels. Beds comfortable. The unit is in need of updating. I would describe the unit as "worn". Four lights were not working and needed bulbs replaced. The so called kitchen area is tiny with no real counter space for preparing food. Bring your own coffee filters for a 4 cup coffee maker since none are provided. Appliances consist of microwave, toaster, 4 cup coffee maker and small refrigerator. One sink doubles as a kitchen sink and bathroom sink. Also bring eye covers for sleeping. Lights from outside are on all night and keep the room light. This could be a good place if you are on a tight budget and don't mind being in a place that needs updating or expect to prepare a major meal besides breakfast.
Burnt out light bulbs. Batteries need replaced in TV remote. Drapes thin. Light from outside comes through. Need eyeshades. Very small area for preparing any food. Surface area usable is approx 10 inches by 8 inches. The 4 cup coffee maker, toaster, and utensil caddy take up most of the counter space.
Only positive is the location and the price.
