About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 1 Half Baths, Sleeps 11

This cedar-planked vacation home, tucked away on the green hills overlooking the beach, has a nautical design reminiscent of a boat - only much more spacious and elegant. Sahhali Ocean Vista House is a wonderful location for up to 11 guests to enjoy a private hot tub, breathtaking ocean views, and the quaint beach town of Neskowin in any season.

The great room features tall, vaulted wood ceilings and numerous large windows for gazing out at the ocean. The view is equally stunning on a clear sunny day or during a dramatic winter storm, and the room's soothing blue-and-white color scheme has a bit of modern flair thrown in for fun. A comfortable sectional couch is arranged to make the most of the views and is a lovely spot to sip some hot chocolate while contemplating the seascape outside. In addition, a number of cozy chairs provide seating around a flatscreen TV with a DVD player.

Perfect for reunions and entertaining, this house boasts not one but two kitchens. A large kitchen on the main floor contains everything needed for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Plentiful granite counter space provides ample room for any kind of culinary project, whether you're baking bread or reheating leftovers for a midmorning snack.

Whatever you whip up, there is bountiful seating that includes a breakfast bar in the kitchen, a formal dining room with space for six, and an additional rustic wood dining table that seats eight overlooking the water. A magical, relaxing spot, it looks to be right out of a home design magazine. There are also plenty of outdoor spots to relax on one of the multiple decks and breathe in that fresh ocean air!

Downstairs, along with the bonus kitchen, is a family room with a sleeper sofa and loveseat. A bedroom holds a full-size bed with a twin bunk bed above. This level also has a full bathroom and is perfect for kids or family members that want their own space.

On the second floor is the oasis-like master suite with a king-size bed, tall ceilings, and more of those postcard-perfect ocean views. You can create a cozy little nest in the morning, lounging in bed with the paper, coffee, some baked goods, and the sounds of the ocean through the open windows. The connected master bath contains more of those million dollar views, a jetted tub, a walk-in shower that has three shower heads, and a heated towel rack to make you feel especially pampered each morning!

The large sleeping loft is just down the hall, holding two queen beds with dark blue-and-white striped bedding, surrounded by more large windows. There is also a roomy desk area with amazing views - the perfect spot to sketch in a travel journal, write postcards, or perhaps play a board game. The two bedrooms, loft, and two-and-a-half baths comfortably sleep a total of 11 guests.

Other amenities include a washer, dryer, and plenty of patio furniture. The home is dog-friendly, so don't forget to bring along your four-legged family members (although a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).

The quiet and secluded town of Neskowin has a long, typically uncrowded sandy beach that is perfect for exploring, picnicking, or catching up on that pile of beach books. For an iconic photo-op, take in the tree-lined basalt outcropping known as Proposal Rock. Legend says it was named after the proposal of Charles Gage to Della Page, around the turn of the century.

For golfers, there is a charming course right in town. Six miles to the north is Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge, an area with many wildfire viewing opportunities and sweeping view points of the Pacific Ocean. If you are tempted to venture out, most dining options are located 13 miles south in the town of Lincoln City, with even more dining and entertainment choices (including the renowned Pelican Brewery) in nearby Pacific City.

Spend your days relaxing, surrounded by the blue of the Pacific and the green of the trees in this beautiful ocean-view home.

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Diamond in the rough

  • 3 of 5

I rented this home with several girlfriends for a weekend getaway. Great space for a large social group, with many 'zones' for to break off into smaller groups. Love all the windows and deck space facing west, and the hot tub on the forested east.

Note, the loft bedroom is open to the living area below; not ideal for those that may retire earlier than others.

Other reviews have complained about a lack of kitchenware, towels, and maintenance. I'd say these things have been improved. We still brought a lot of our own supplies due to other reviews, but I found the house suitably equipped. The things I'd most note are a few broken chairs (one barstool, one dining-style chair) and Cadet heaters (master bedroom, at least). Most of us were cold for a lot of the stay, the home only heated by Cadet (wall) heaters. There is a pellet stove, which isn't mentioned in the listing, but is detailed (as a fireplace) in the rental agreement, which we would have liked to use, but there were no pellets in the house.

The water issue added stress, being a large group (7), but even with everyone showering, we didn't even get the 50% light.

There is some clutter on the east side of the house, where there is a fence/gate in disrepair and a patio furniture graveyard, and the windows could use washing, though that would be a big undertaking given the terrain.

I agree with other reviewers the house could use more TLC, but I still love it and recommend it and I feel the rate is fair all things considered.

Ps. The Hawk Creek Cafe (a short drive away) is terrific and surprisingly affordable.

nice rental

  • 4 of 5

The only concerns we had with this property were the HOA regulations that put a damper on the rental. There is a major concern about water use, outside lights, and noise. For just the two of us the water wasn't any issue but we would have worried about bringing a group here (which the house is ideal for). Every other property we have rented with Vacasa has been fantastic and not had these concerns or potential big ticket fines attached.

I loved my trip here!

  • 5 of 5

Thi house is so beautiful everybody who i went on this trip with was so happy and enjoyed every second. We didnt expect a big trip to the beach because we went during a storm, but when we did decide to walk down there it wasnt easy to get to. Which sucked but we made it and it was jice. If we went during summer the walk wouldve been nicer. We didnt look at the picture of the pool table before renting so the pool table isnt what we expected but we stil had a lot of fun with what we got. The reminders about lights was nice. Overall it was a great trip and the house was so nice we didnt want to leave!

Fantastic view and spacious home

We had a ladies weekend and we had plenty of space to spread out and a great kitchen to cook in. The best part is the spectacular view of the ocean and the surrounding forest setting
