Overview

Coastal Oregon House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 11)

This cedar planked vacation home, tucked away on the green hills overlooking the beach, has a nautical design reminiscent of a boat - only much more spacious and elegant. Sahhali Ocean Vista House is a wonderful location for up to 11 guests to enjoy a wonderful getaway, a private hot tub, breathtaking ocean views, and the quaint beach town of Neskowin in any season.

The great room features tall, vaulted wood ceilings and numerous large windows for gazing out at the ocean. The view is equally stunning on a clear sunny day or during a dramatic winter storm, and the room's soothing blue and white color scheme has a bit of modern flair thrown in for fun. A comfortable sectional couch is arranged to make the most of the views and is a lovely spot to sip some hot chocolate while contemplating the seascape outside. In addition, a number of cozy chairs provide seating around a flat screen TV with DVD player.

Perfect for reunions, extended families, and entertaining, this house boasts not one but two kitchens. A full, large kitchen on the main floor contains everything needed for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Lots of granite countertops provide ample room for any kind of culinary project -- from baking bread, creating a pasta feast with Grandma, or just reheating some leftovers for a midmorning pizza snack. Whatever you whip up, there is bountiful seating including a breakfast bar in the kitchen and formal dining room with seating for six. Overlooking the ocean and surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows is an additional rustic wood dining table that seats eight in style. A magical, relaxing spot, it looks to be right out of a home design magazine. There are also plenty of outdoor spots to relax on one of the multiple decks and breathe in that fresh ocean air!

Downstairs, along with the bonus kitchen, is a family room with a sleeper sofa and loveseat. A bedroom holds a full sized bed, with a twin bunk bed above. This level also has a full bathroom and is perfect for kids or family members that want their own space.

Located on the second floor is the oasis-like master suite with a king-sized bed, tall ceilings and more of those postcard-perfect ocean views. The luxurious bedding and surroundings will make you feel unbelievably well rested. You can create a cozy little nest in the morning, lounging in bed with the paper, coffee, some baked goods, and the sounds of the ocean through the open windows. The connected master bath contains more of those million dollar views, a jetted tub and a walk-in shower that has three shower heads. There is even a heated towel rack to make you feel especially pampered each morning before starting the day's adventures!

The large sleeping loft is just down the hall, holding two queen beds with dark blue and white striped bedding, surrounded by more large windows. There is also a roomy desk area with amazing views, the perfect spot to sketch in a travel journal, write postcards or perhaps play a board game. The two bedrooms, plus loft, and two and a half baths comfortably sleep a total of 11 guests. Other amenities include a washer, dryer, and plenty of patio furniture. The home is dog friendly, so don't forget to bring along your four-legged family members, though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply.

.

The quiet and secluded town of Neskowin has a long, typically uncrowded sandy beach just perfect for exploring, picnicking or catching up on that pile of beach books. For an iconic photo op, take in the tree-lined basalt outcropping known as Proposal Rock. Legend says it was named after the proposal of Charles Gage to Della Page, around the turn of the century.

For golfers, there is a charming course right in town. Six miles to the north is Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge, an area with many wildfire viewing opportunities and sweeping view points of the Pacific Ocean. If you are tempted to venture out, most dining options are located 13 miles south in the town of Lincoln City, with even more dining and entertainment choices, including the renowned Pelican Brewery, in nearby Pacific City.

Spend your days relaxing, surrounded by the blue of the Pacific and the green of the trees in this beautiful ocean-view home.

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

The house was great, but if you plan on cooking, you might want to bring your own things, pretty limited supplies. Also, bring soap for the kitchen and bathroom. Other than that, it was a very nice place, beautiful views...

Wow!!!

 • 5 of 5

I hesitate to provide a good review, in fear of too many people renting it in the future and it not being available for me. It may not be the newest or most up to date house, but it has the MOST spectacular views of any home around. From panoramic ocean views (in almost every room) to views of Elk herds bedding down just below the property. Eating meals at the dining room table was difficult. Our food got cold, because we were so focused on the view!!! 5 Stars for the experience.

The fireplace doesn't work. You get a beach view but beach it like 30 min away if you walk there. Hot tub needs to be changed because all my swim clothes changed colors. They ran out of propane for grill we tried to call but no one answered so we had to waste our time to go to store. Also kitchen needs to be more stocked up. Also couldn't use jet tub upstairs because your worrying so you don't go over your water limit and also lights worrying they gotta be off by a certain time and some of the back porch lights didn't work. Wouldnt come back.

Great view. Won't rent this property again.

The view was the best thing about this property. Wish I would have read the reviews before I rented it. We spent too much time worrying about the water we could use and the lights we couldn't leave on past 10 and all of the fines we could get. The house was nice but not worth the money I spent on it. Windows were still dirty, deck still wasn't fully repaired, carpets were dirty. They said there would be stuff in the kitchen to cook with (spices, oil ect. ) there wasn't anything. Not even salt and pepper. We didn't bring any and a store is a long ways away. We were in town for my father inlaws birthday. Couldn't have anyone at the house because of guest and parking restrictions. Next time I will rent a place where I don't have to spend the whole time worrying about everything. Not very pet friendly either. No where good for them to relieve themselves. Taking them out at night is fun when you can't turn on the lights and there is no flashlight. Had to use the one on my phone.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We understand that it can be stressful for some guests to follow the city requirements and want to assure our guests that as long as you are mindful with water consumption there will be no problems. We will be sure to provide a flashlight in the home for emergency situations and nighttime doggie outings. We are glad to see that you enjoyed the great view!

The Good, The Bad & The Unfinished

 • 3 of 5

THE GOOD: The Sahhali Ocean Vista house in Neskowin is in a beautiful location. It was easy to find, and access into Lincoln City was good. The house is large and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped, bathrooms are clean and well-supplied with towels, LR couches and love seats are comfortable and cozy. We only used the upper level Master Bedroom and the loft bedroom - the beds were comfortable. The view from the house is gorgeous. The beach far below is a very nice beach. The inside of the home seems to be maintained well. Access to the beach was a bit of a hike. It's all up hill going back. THE BAD: When we arrived the kitchen floor was very sticky. The coffee pot was not appropriately cleaned. There was old food left on the floor of the side deck. The patio furniture on the deck was rusted and crumbling. The planks on the same deck were crumbling as well.No other patio furniture was available.Crumbs and other detritus were stuck on the pull-out cutting board in the kitchen. The windows are very dirty which impeded the gorgeous view below and beyond. We wound up cleaning two or three on our own!The crank windows were very hard to open and some were broken or stuck. The Vacasa binder with the directions and rules of the house was left on the table for us to peruse.Inside it said there were instructions on how to work the pellet fireplace. There were instructions tacked up on the wall next to the fireplace. We could not get it to work. After calling Vacasa., we were told that the owner/property manager had taken the working fireplace off the amenties list! Then why was it still in the Vacasa binder and instructions still tacked on the wall? When we reserved this house in 2/15, the website and our confirmation stated that there was a working fireplace. Two of the bedrooms are in the upper level, Master with a great Master Bath and the loft bedroom. Although those in the loft bedroom were inconvenienced with not having their own private bath or a closet in which to hang their clothing. Lower level BR had bunk beds but access to a full bath.

Loft BR should be switched to lower BR! THE UNFINISHED: There were several construction projects in progress - plywood boards were up on the deck fencing where glass should have been. The fireplace (as we were told by Vacasa later) was another project the owner/property manager was going to replace. The lower deck was not completed. VRBO and Vacasa should make sure that the house is completed before renting.

Kitchen is well equiped, bathrooms are clean and well-supplied with towels, LR couches and love seats are comfortable and cozy. We only used the upper level Master Bedroom and the loft bedroom - the beds were comfortable. The view from the house is gorgeous. We often saw Mule Deer and Elk grazing in a field below. The beach far below is a very nice beach. The inside of the home seems to be maintained well. We saw very beautiful sunsets almost every day. Access to the beach was a bit of a hike. We found it better to drive down to the end of the subdivision street and then take the walking path access. It's all up hill going back.

THE BAD: When we arrived the kitchen floor was very sticky. The coffee pot was not appropriately cleaned. There was old food left on the floor of the side deck. The patio furniture on the deck was rusted and crumbling. The planks on the same deck were crumbling as well. No other patio furniture was available. Two of the bedrooms are in the upper level - the Master with a great Master Bath and the loft bedroom. Although those in the loft bedroom were a bit inconvenienced with not having their own private bath or a closet in which to hand their clothing. The third bedroom in the lower level is equipped with bunk beds. It would be better if the bunkbeds were put in the loft bedroom and the queen size bed be placed in the lower bedroom where a full bath is readily available.

THE UNFINISHED: There were several construction projects that were in progress -- plywood boards were up on the deck fencing where glass should have been. The fireplace (as we were told by Vacasa later) was another project the owner/property manager was going to replace. The lower deck was not completed. VRBO and Vacasa should make sure that the house is completely rentable before placing on their web site.
