This cedar planked vacation home, tucked away on the green hills overlooking the beach, has a nautical design reminiscent of a boat - only much more spacious and elegant. Sahhali Ocean Vista House is a wonderful location for up to 11 guests to enjoy a wonderful getaway, a private hot tub, breathtaking ocean views, and the quaint beach town of Neskowin in any season.
The great room features tall, vaulted wood ceilings and numerous large windows for gazing out at the ocean. The view is equally stunning on a clear sunny day or during a dramatic winter storm, and the room's soothing blue and white color scheme has a bit of modern flair thrown in for fun. A comfortable sectional couch is arranged to make the most of the views and is a lovely spot to sip some hot chocolate while contemplating the seascape outside. In addition, a number of cozy chairs provide seating around a flat screen TV with DVD player.
Perfect for reunions, extended families, and entertaining, this house boasts not one but two kitchens. A full, large kitchen on the main floor contains everything needed for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Lots of granite countertops provide ample room for any kind of culinary project -- from baking bread, creating a pasta feast with Grandma, or just reheating some leftovers for a midmorning pizza snack. Whatever you whip up, there is bountiful seating including a breakfast bar in the kitchen and formal dining room with seating for six. Overlooking the ocean and surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows is an additional rustic wood dining table that seats eight in style. A magical, relaxing spot, it looks to be right out of a home design magazine. There are also plenty of outdoor spots to relax on one of the multiple decks and breathe in that fresh ocean air!
Downstairs, along with the bonus kitchen, is a family room with a sleeper sofa and loveseat. A bedroom holds a full sized bed, with a twin bunk bed above. This level also has a full bathroom and is perfect for kids or family members that want their own space.
Located on the second floor is the oasis-like master suite with a king-sized bed, tall ceilings and more of those postcard-perfect ocean views. The luxurious bedding and surroundings will make you feel unbelievably well rested. You can create a cozy little nest in the morning, lounging in bed with the paper, coffee, some baked goods, and the sounds of the ocean through the open windows. The connected master bath contains more of those million dollar views, a jetted tub and a walk-in shower that has three shower heads. There is even a heated towel rack to make you feel especially pampered each morning before starting the day's adventures!
The large sleeping loft is just down the hall, holding two queen beds with dark blue and white striped bedding, surrounded by more large windows. There is also a roomy desk area with amazing views, the perfect spot to sketch in a travel journal, write postcards or perhaps play a board game. The two bedrooms, plus loft, and two and a half baths comfortably sleep a total of 11 guests. Other amenities include a washer, dryer, and plenty of patio furniture. The home is dog friendly, so don't forget to bring along your four-legged family members, though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply.
The quiet and secluded town of Neskowin has a long, typically uncrowded sandy beach just perfect for exploring, picnicking or catching up on that pile of beach books. For an iconic photo op, take in the tree-lined basalt outcropping known as Proposal Rock. Legend says it was named after the proposal of Charles Gage to Della Page, around the turn of the century.
For golfers, there is a charming course right in town. Six miles to the north is Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge, an area with many wildfire viewing opportunities and sweeping view points of the Pacific Ocean. If you are tempted to venture out, most dining options are located 13 miles south in the town of Lincoln City, with even more dining and entertainment choices, including the renowned Pelican Brewery, in nearby Pacific City.
Spend your days relaxing, surrounded by the blue of the Pacific and the green of the trees in this beautiful ocean-view home.
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We had a greatly fun time at this location. It was a little further from the beach than expected. Took a good 15 minutes to get down to the water- part of the walk though is lovely once you get on the path. But was a downside to not be able to pop down there as easily. The kitchen is missing some key items (a good wine key/opener, cookie sheets, roasting pans) and the oven is a struggle to open/close. However, we had a lot of space, great seating areas, saw some wildlife, enjoyed the hot tub, etc.. Was a fun and beautiful time, but likely won't visit again due to proximity to the water.
We stayed here for 5 nights in August and were generally pleased with it. House sits probably 200 feet above sea level and it's a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach. First half of the walk is on street and second half down a trail. It was dry while we were there and there was no problem with trail. If wet it could be a little challenging. We did see a small mama black bear and 2 cubs on our first trip down. They ran away quickly upon seeing us. Plenty of deer in the neighborhood.
Beach is nice - no tidepools in this stretch - but plenty of nice sand and hardly anyone in either direction. Sunset, if it's clear, is quite spectacular.
Neighborhood consists of some really big vacation homes and was mostly empty during our visit. At ~3000 sq ft, this house was on small side, but plenty large for our family of 4. Master suite is very nice with a comfy king size bed and enormous bathroom. Our daughters slept in adjoining upper level room which is also quite spacious. We didn't use basement at all, but it could accommodate several more people. House was built about 20 years ago and a few things are a bit dated, but really very nice overall.
Water limit was no problem for us. We never even triggered the 50% level despite showering, washing clothes and dishes, etc.
Very relaxing place to spend a few days at a pretty reasonable price if that's what you're after.
The house was great, but if you plan on cooking, you might want to bring your own things, pretty limited supplies. Also, bring soap for the kitchen and bathroom. Other than that, it was a very nice place, beautiful views...
I hesitate to provide a good review, in fear of too many people renting it in the future and it not being available for me. It may not be the newest or most up to date house, but it has the MOST spectacular views of any home around. From panoramic ocean views (in almost every room) to views of Elk herds bedding down just below the property. Eating meals at the dining room table was difficult. Our food got cold, because we were so focused on the view!!! 5 Stars for the experience.
