This cedar-planked vacation home, tucked away on the green hills overlooking the beach, has a nautical design reminiscent of a boat - only much more spacious and elegant. Sahhali Ocean Vista House is a wonderful location for up to 11 guests to enjoy a private hot tub, breathtaking ocean views, and the quaint beach town of Neskowin in any season.
The great room features tall, vaulted wood ceilings and numerous large windows for gazing out at the ocean. The view is equally stunning on a clear sunny day or during a dramatic winter storm, and the room's soothing blue-and-white color scheme has a bit of modern flair thrown in for fun. A comfortable sectional couch is arranged to make the most of the views and is a lovely spot to sip some hot chocolate while contemplating the seascape outside. In addition, a number of cozy chairs provide seating around a flatscreen TV with a DVD player.
Perfect for reunions and entertaining, this house boasts not one but two kitchens. A large kitchen on the main floor contains everything needed for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Plentiful granite counter space provides ample room for any kind of culinary project, whether you're baking bread or reheating leftovers for a midmorning snack.
Whatever you whip up, there is bountiful seating that includes a breakfast bar in the kitchen, a formal dining room with space for six, and an additional rustic wood dining table that seats eight overlooking the water. A magical, relaxing spot, it looks to be right out of a home design magazine. There are also plenty of outdoor spots to relax on one of the multiple decks and breathe in that fresh ocean air!
Downstairs, along with the bonus kitchen, is a family room with a sleeper sofa and loveseat. A bedroom holds a full-size bed with a twin bunk bed above. This level also has a full bathroom and is perfect for kids or family members that want their own space.
On the second floor is the oasis-like master suite with a king-size bed, tall ceilings, and more of those postcard-perfect ocean views. You can create a cozy little nest in the morning, lounging in bed with the paper, coffee, some baked goods, and the sounds of the ocean through the open windows. The connected master bath contains more of those million dollar views, a jetted tub, a walk-in shower that has three shower heads, and a heated towel rack to make you feel especially pampered each morning!
The large sleeping loft is just down the hall, holding two queen beds with dark blue-and-white striped bedding, surrounded by more large windows. There is also a roomy desk area with amazing views - the perfect spot to sketch in a travel journal, write postcards, or perhaps play a board game. The two bedrooms, loft, and two-and-a-half baths comfortably sleep a total of 11 guests.
Other amenities include a washer, dryer, and plenty of patio furniture. The home is dog-friendly, so don't forget to bring along your four-legged family members (although a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).
The quiet and secluded town of Neskowin has a long, typically uncrowded sandy beach that is perfect for exploring, picnicking, or catching up on that pile of beach books. For an iconic photo-op, take in the tree-lined basalt outcropping known as Proposal Rock. Legend says it was named after the proposal of Charles Gage to Della Page, around the turn of the century.
For golfers, there is a charming course right in town. Six miles to the north is Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge, an area with many wildfire viewing opportunities and sweeping view points of the Pacific Ocean. If you are tempted to venture out, most dining options are located 13 miles south in the town of Lincoln City, with even more dining and entertainment choices (including the renowned Pelican Brewery) in nearby Pacific City.
Spend your days relaxing, surrounded by the blue of the Pacific and the green of the trees in this beautiful ocean-view home.
*Please be advised that water usage at this home is limited to 300 gallons per day. Thank you!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
Nice home to go and relax. Love the openness of the main floor. Needs a little TLC.
the Hawk Creek Cafe was an excellent place for dinning out.
This home is in a quiet neighborhood high above the ocean, so a very peaceful getaway. The views were amazing and the home itself is very spacious and clean. The hot tub was super clean, too, and not too chemical filled which isn't always the case in rentals. I would definitely come here again. There are a couple things the owners could do to make this a 5 star place. First, the window is broken in t he open position in the master bedroom which was an issue as we visited in February. Also, the smoke alarm in the master had a dying battery and was chirping loudly... and the gorgeous vaulted ceilings made it extremely hard for us to deal with it. In the description of this house and in the rental agreement, a lot was made of the expensive imported fireplace... yet it was broken when we arrived. None of this was a deal breaker for us, but when we called to report the broken things, we were told by the maintenance man that the fireplace had been broken for years. A couple light bulbs were burned out too and the coffee grinder was broken. I recommend that the owners put things like light bulbs and batteries on a replacement cycle so this doesn't happen in the future. The last thing I'll say is the kitchen was very barebones as far as cooking supplies. Plenty of plates and silverware but no baking dishes or sheets, big bowls or containers of any kind, one pot and one pan, etc. luckily we saw that in the other reviews and brought a lot of our own stuff but even so I wasn't prepared for how little there would be. I do want to assure anyone using this review to book this in the future: it was a fantastic space and I feel lucky to only mention little things like this. Still, I think it's good to share and hopefully it will encourage the owners to update these little things for the future.
The hubby and I enjoyed a late valentines retreat. The house is beautiful and clean. We took the walking trail down to the beach and it's a beautiful little hike. Only complaint I have is the hot tub was not as clean as it could have been. There were floaties, scum built up on the back side and no chlorine in it. The jacuzzi tub on the other hand is super awesome! We arrived Friday evening and woke up Saturday morning to a large herd of elk in the field below us. It was breathtaking with the view and sound of the ocean. There was also a doe and 2 fawns in the backyard. We are out while we were there which was good because the house is not really equipped for cooking. Plenty of glasses and plates though. We will definitely return as Over we had a great experience here in this beautiful house.
This spacious home is a delight. Plenty of room for a crowd, very clean, beautiful views, quiet and private. These are our most important considerations, and the house delivered on all counts. There were just two of us, so the water restrictions weren't a problem at all. The house has a huge kitchen, but if you plan to do serious cooking, you may want to bring your own cookware. We hope to return this summer with our grown children.
Slept our group of 11 great! We were there for 3 nights celebrating my mothers 60th birthday as well as the New Year. The house was incredibly clean when we arrived. Most everything in the house worked great except for the toaster (which my husband repaired) & the pellet fireplace (maybe we just couldn't figure it out?). One warning: this kitchen doesn't come stocked with any materials for storing leftover food - so bring zip locks or Tupperware. The bedding in the loft was slightly tattered but all other beds where well dressed & comfortable.
The neighborhood has some odd rules like - only 1 car in the driveway at all times & all outdoor lights off at 10pm. This wasn't a big deal for us, just strange. The house also has a 300 gallon water limit which we never hit. But we also avoided accessible showers etc.
Overall, it was a fantastic location for our festivities & group. Lots of space!
