About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2, Granite Counters, Hardwood Floors

Sea Oats cottage is a gracious getaway for two in scenic Port Aransas on Mustang Island. This beautiful newly constructed home was built as a Vacation Rental. Located on the 'quiet end' of 11th Street in Port Aransas, the Sea Oats sits just below the historic Chapel on the Dunes, which is the oldest consecrated church in Port Aransas, now popular for private weddings on Mustang Island.

Proud owner Jim Atwill has planned each area of the construction with your comfort and luxury in mind. All finishes in this home are high end, from the red oak flooring to the travertine tile spacious shower to the Texas pink granite on the counter tops. Finest stainless steel appliances appoint the kitchen. There is even a laden herb garden right outside the kitchen door for your culinary creations. Make no mistake, there is no accommodation in Port Aransas that comes close to the comforts you will feel in the Sea Oats Cottage. Sleeping for 2 adults only, relax, get away, rekindle, rejuvenate, and relive those past vacations when times were slower. No children or pets.

Why Bee Gee McBride, Property Manager Bee Gee's Coastal Quarters chose Texas Gulf Coast

Newly constructed as the first Accessory Dwelling Unit in Port Aransas, the design plays off the Katrina cottage plan and was designed by the owner's brother, an artist in Santa Fe and the plans were drawn by a well known Santa Fe designer.

What makes this cottage unique

Local craftsmen added their expertise to this design which makes good use of every inch of the space in this gorgeous cottage. From the appliances, fixtures, lighting and furnishings each piece fits perfectly in place and the whole of the creation is much greater than the unique parts that went into it. Not fussy, but uniquely high end finishes from the red oak flooring, granite counter tops, luxurious linens, no detail has been overlooked.

Contemporary, great location and quiet

  • 5 of 5

I was very happy with the accomodations and the fact that it was near the "Chapel on the Hill" and also next to an empty lot, deck side.

The deck was the biggest draw for me and nice to be able to go out in the mornings and hear the ocean and smell the sea air. I felt like I had space to breathe and was happy taking a short walk to the beach.

The check in was easy and helpful and the owner takes pride in his rental. He came by to check on things and to leave home grown tomatoes. There was complimentary coffee, soaps and cable T V. And if you just wanted to watch a movie, that was available.

Overall a great rental in a nice neighborhood

Beautiful cottage, relaxing stay

  • 4 of 5

We looked at dozens of properties in Port A before settling on the Sea Oats cottage. The cottage is located just a few blocks from the main street and close to the beach. Everywhere is an easy walk, even to the small grocery just a few streets away.

Almost everything about the cottage is well-designed and practically perfect for two. The wraparound porch is a stunner, though, and even on a warm and humid day, the breeze made hanging out and reading a truly relaxing experience. The cottage comes with just about everything you need for a wonderful getaway.

Our only issue, and it was a sizeable one, was with the mattress. It's seen better days, and sags quite a bit. While almost everything was super well-appointed, with beautiful details and thoughtful touches, an uncomfortable bed can ruin an otherwise perfect vacation.

We'd love to return the cottage, and can see it being a regular getaway.

Outstanding property with a great owner

  • 5 of 5

I reserved Sea Oats for my parents' 40th anniversary. They loved the cottage and had a wonderful time. The owner went out of his way to make sure they had a great time, including something extra which they really appreciated. It was even better than I had hoped for them. Great cottage owned by a gentleman. Thanks.

My wife and I plan on staying there soon as well.

Clean and cozy. It was a perfect hideaway retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Sea Oats cottage. It is secluded and surrounded by vegetation but still minutes away from the main Port A spots.

Ultimate place to stay for two!

  • 5 of 5

Jim's vision for this little place is spot on! Perfect for two in every way. Comfortable, cozy and quaint. So much so you hope for a rainy day so you can stay inside. Or, sit out on the covered porch rain or shine. Kitchen has everything you need. Living room is generous. Bedroom is just enough space. We slept like babies on what felt like a cloud. Bathroom shower is fantastic! Towels are thick, soft and absorbent. Enough space for two people to get ready. Closet space for folded and hanging clothes. Nicely appointed space with lovely little extras...locally made soaps and fresh from the hive honey. Sleepy little neighborhood. Cottage situated at the end of the street, very little traffic. A short safe walk to the beach! Convenient location to stores (even by foot if you enjoy walking). Lots of windows and natural light. Ceiling fans. Regulated air conditioning. Chapel foot traffic respectable. This is definitely our new getaway! Haven't left yet and already can't wait to come back! Thanks Jim for creating the perfect space for two! Property manager, Sue, is terrific! She was johnny-on-the-spot at answering our questions. Check-in is a breeze and accommodating if you are getting in late to Port A. Oh, and I can't forget to tell you how everything is VERY clean and fresh. I could keep going but I think you get the picture! Enjoy!
