This is the place to stay if you plan to visit Asheville!
My husband and I visited Asheville in early July looking to hike, explore breweries, and of course, visit the Biltmore. When we arrived Collin and his sweet family were there to greet and welcome us to the area. We were thrilled to see the room was extremely clean, comfortable (most comfortable bed of all time), and close to everything. There were delicious treats, wine, and a good selection of beer for us in the fridge. Collin is a friendly, helpful, and laid back host who offered us great suggestions on breweries and hikes in the area. We will definitely be staying at The Rankin House again!
It is so great to hear such kind words! I’m so glad y’all enjoyed your stay! Please come back again soon!
The Rankin house is gorgeous and in walking distance of downtown!
We had an absolutely amazing time, the room is beautifully furnished and has all the things you need. The home baked good that greets you when you first arrive is delicious! The balcony outside is perfect to sit and relax. The bed is really comfortable, definitely prepare yourself for sleeping longer than intended as you can truly unwind. When you want to go the center of downtown, it’s around a 10–15 minutes walk at a leisurely pace. I definitely recommend the Rankin house inn, we had a beautiful time and will definitely will go back!
Comfortable with a great location
My husband and I recently enjoyed a two-night stay in Aunt Betsy’s room for our anniversary. My husband loved the firm, king-sized bed, and I liked the historic charm of the place. The owner, Collin, leaves you all the comforts of home, including towels, bathrobes, a coffee maker with lots of assorted coffees and creamers, and a bottle of wine with wine glasses and a cork. Unfortunately, my husband and I did not even notice the mini fridge stocked with beer and water until it was time to leave. Best thing about the place though is the location! Five minutes from downtown and 10-20 minutes from everywhere else, makes it pretty much perfect. Poor Collin even had to get up at 3 o’clock in the morning to help us get into the bathroom, after we somehow locked ourselves out of it. He was a real good sport about it. (Be careful of the small latch on the inside of the bathroom door so you don’t do the same thing we did!) The only thing that could’ve made the experience better is perhaps a few more bath towels. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay when you’re in Asheville !
Great private stay close to downtown.
The house was convenient to downtown. Owners left a wonderful selection of goodies in the room. We had a great stay!
Great location and very comfortable room!
Everything you need to enjoy a getaway to beautiful Asheville, and a perfect location for downtown. Collin was a terrific host and the room was clean and comfortable!
I’m so happy to hear how much y’all enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the kind words. Please stay with us again soon.
Mostly good but with a few reservations
The room was cozy and convenient to downtown. The hosts left lots of nice little goodies for us I ncluding wine, beer and some yummy breakfast items which was really appreciated. The only reason I couldn’t rank it higher was the very noisy children outside our door playing in the courtyard at 8:00 am. This was the first vacation we’d had for a long time and the noise of the kids for two hours first thing in the morning was not very relaxing. Had I known small kids were on-site and would be playing unsupervised outside my door in the morning I probably would not have rented this unit so might be nice to include that in your description of the property for others to make an informed decision. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.
I'm so sorry about the noise! Honestly, this type of thing is not typical. First few days out of school for the summer and coming off of a long stretch of very rainy weather. I did not realize that my kids were being as loud as they must have been... Again, my apologies.
