I came to Hawaii from Rapid City, SD in 1994 to teach. I have families in Kansas, South Dakota, Oregon, Washington State, New Mexico, Virginia, North Carolina and Arizona. My husband and I bought this unit because of the closeness to everything and of course, the best oceanfront pool on Alii Drive. We furnished the unit with high end solid wood furnishings for your comfort.

We bought this property because of the pretty partial ocean view from lanai/porch of the unit, Oceanfront Pool and it is right on Alii Drive where You can easily walk to beaches, shopping, all tourist attractions are within 30 minutes away-less if you are a fast walker. The nice partial ocean view from the unit and oceanfront pool makes this the perfect place to spend your time in Hawaii. This complex has a combination of owners living in their units to long term monthly renters to short term vacation rental. You will meet many nice people with many Aloha during your stay. We have guests that keep coming back every year because they have made good friends here. The only thing we would change with this condo is the exterior brown trim on the building. I have made recommendation to the board to change the color of the trim the next time the building gets painted. If your dates are not available, check out VRBO Number 556521.
Very clean compare to staying at a hotel. Carpet and sofas are cleaned annually with spot cleaning as needed throughout the year to keep it clean and fresh for our guests. My husband and I had a fantastic time in Kona and at Kona Shores. The place had everything you would need (even a coffee grinder so that you can have freshly ground Kona coffee in the morning) and felt like home. Very clean and good value. It exceeded our expectations. The pool was a great way to relax at the end of the day. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had lots of space. It was great! We would absolutely recommend. Also, if you stay here (which is a great choice), try some food at Lava Java in town. It was delicious, we ate there 3 times! Staying here and visiting Kailua-Kona is a great idea and we hope to do it all again one day! (Also, this was a great location. Being on Ali'i Drive made it easy to get around. We didn't need a GPS.)
Property is in a somewhat dated condominium complex but beautifully furnished and prepared for our stay: kitchen fully furnished, beach gear - chairs, cooler, towels - furnished. No ocean swimming access - which is generally the case with lodging in Kona. View from pool of the ocean over the rocky shore is lovely. Owners very gracious to our request for early check in and late check out - for that last morning of snorkeling nearby! We loved Kona!
The room was spacious, well appointed, and very clean. The view from the balcony was lovely. We enjoyed sitting by the pool and watching the sunset. Restaurants, beaches, and shopping were close by. We were very pleased with our accommodations. I would highly recommend this Kona Shores property.
PERFECT place to stay for a couple. The unit is beautiful but most of all VERY comfortable. Everything was spotless and the condo itself well appointed. We had everything we needed to cook if we wanted to, the bathroom was full size when so often they are tiny in smaller condos. The lanai provided beautiful sunsets and a place to sip morning coffee. Having a dedicated parking space was awesome as well! The location is very good as it is close enough to the action if you want to go, but not in the middle of the congestion on Alii drive. Khammoui was wonderful with timely communications and directions. I would recommend this to any couple. We loved the fact there was no additional cleaning fee, and we hope that we left the condo in good shape as requested. Would we stay here again? ABSOLUTELY! Thank you for being such a conscientious condo owner/renter Khammoui ! I certainly hope we can return soon. Mahalo!
Clean and easy to get in and out of. Air conditioner worked great.We really enjoyed the Kona side of the Island it's beautiful.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stay in your condo. We needed a one night stop over and this was perfect. We arrived after dark, tired from our travels. It was nice to find a bed that was comfortable, a condo that was sparkling clean, and an air conditioner that kept us cool. We look forward to a future visit!
If you enjoy walking, you can stroll along Alii Drive to Alii Drive Farmer's Market for fresh local fruits, vegetables, sourvenier, restaurants, beaches, tourist activities, snorkeling, cloud forest to see parrots is only 10 minutes drive away.
