Guestbook comments from the owner

Our crew from Marietta Ga., came and stayed in Gatlinburg for the 41st year in a row. This year we chose to stay in the Smoky Mountain Lodge. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the snow, the spacious lodge and the camaraderie amongst friends. Included in our stay was a low country boil, finding bear prints in the snow, a Super bowl party, numerous shopping excursions and lots of laughter. We all agree that this is the best view we have had at any of our stays. We will definitely return!

Big comfortable cabin perfect for large groups!

  • 5 of 5

Exactly as described but views are even better! Great for large groups as there is plenty of space to be together as a group or to separate out. Beds were made with nice sheets and comfortable beds. Close enough to town if you want to go but far enough away to feel out of the hustle bustle. Just an overall great experience and would definitely take a large group back there again! It was the perfect place to have my 50th birthday party!

Family Reunion made more wonderful at the logde

  • 5 of 5

Our first annual (?) family reunion. What a great location to set the standard for future reunions. The cottage was a perfect location for family patriarch and matriarch who were early to bed and early to rise. The Heritage House and its separate living quarters were perfect for the families and gave everyone their own space. The main lodge was perfect for the big meals and hanging out together. The kids loved the game room and all the things they could do. The view from the main lodge decks were magestic and breath taking. We were blessed to have this opportunity! And box fans in each room was awesome!! We all love to sleep with fans!!

Tips for future renters: bring hair dryers. There are is a big electric roaster and crock pot available. Also 2 electric griddles. Just make sure they are not on the same circuit as the coffee pots and microwave. :) There is also a hand mixer and electric knife, tons of silverwear and plates! No need to bring paper plates. Two dishwaters in the kitchen to keep everything washed. Bring extra kitchen dish towels or wash them like we did.

Thank you Tammi for everything. And God bless you and Laurie! Happy New Year!!

Very Relaxing and Terrific View

  • 4 of 5

We had a terrific stay at the lodge. It was a unique set up that really lent itself to our 24 person group. The view from the main lodge was every bit as amazing as described. Moreover, Tammy was helpful and got us situated nicely. The only thing I could say that could improve was the towels had a mildew and musty smell to them and many of the dishes needed some pre-cleaning in order to use. With that said, I can tell you that those things were MINOR in comparison to the experience. Will use again, no doubt!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review! I agree with you on the towels and we are replacing them. I also have spoke to our housekeeping crew about the dishes. We appreciate your constructive comments. Hope to see you again soon! And as a foot note, the Lodge was not affected by the fires.

The 3 houses were perfect for our small family wedding.

  • 5 of 5

There was plenty of room for our 31 guests the rooms were comfy and each one made you feel at home. There were plenty of games to be played and books to read. However we were busy having a wonderful wedding reception on the deck. The owners/ house keepers we worked with were awesome and very responsive. I would highly recommend these rentals !

Amazing Venue for our Life & Business Coaching Group Meeting

  • 5 of 5

We lead a Life & Business Coaching Group comprised of couples and singles from all across the country. We meet together 3 times a year in various locations for 3 days of mastermind sessions. This venue was perfect in our search for a more "getaway/retreat" style venue vs meeting at a hotel venue, yet still having the ability for folks to "have their own space"! We even had two couples bring their kids and this venue was plenty of space for the kids to have fun while the adults met undisturbed during the business sessions. No complaints or even improvement suggestions from the group on their units...everyone wants to come back to this venue again!!! Several of us stayed a few extra days in the Main Lodge, which was where we stayed all week and it proved to be THOROUGHLY stocked and we were not lacking for a single thing. So nice to have 3 separate buildings so close together. We did have some unanticipated needs during the stay and Tammi was amazing...super responsive and an absolute pleasure to work with. We have had experience with 2 other VRBOs and this was by far the EASIEST check out process EVER! Makes for departure to be so much less stressful and I wish other VRBO owners would do the same. We'll absolutely be coming back and highly recommend this place for anyone considering it.

Epic Family Reunion 2016

  • 5 of 5

First, I want to thank you for allowing our family to be your guests for our family reunion August 5th-8th, 2016! We had the most wonderful time together and we had plenty of space to be together or take a little break for some down time. We had some unexpected visitors with the bears but it made for some excitement and great pictures! The only thing that I can say negative is that the areas not used as much were not cleaned as well and had some spider webs in the cottage shower and a few of the apartments smelled very musty. We were able to easily take care of these minor issues. Now I have to compliment Tammi for being amazing to work with from the very beginning and throughout the entire experience!! I am so thankful we stumbled upon this little heaven on earth and we are already talking about our next reunion and it will be there! Thank you all!! Much Love, Heather
