Guestbook comments from the owner

Our crew from Marietta Ga., came and stayed in Gatlinburg for the 41st year in a row. This year we chose to stay in the Smoky Mountain Lodge. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the snow, the spacious lodge and the camaraderie amongst friends. Included in our stay was a low country boil, finding bear prints in the snow, a Super bowl party, numerous shopping excursions and lots of laughter. We all agree that this is the best view we have had at any of our stays. We will definitely return!

Very Relaxing and Terrific View

  • 4 of 5

We had a terrific stay at the lodge. It was a unique set up that really lent itself to our 24 person group. The view from the main lodge was every bit as amazing as described. Moreover, Tammy was helpful and got us situated nicely. The only thing I could say that could improve was the towels had a mildew and musty smell to them and many of the dishes needed some pre-cleaning in order to use. With that said, I can tell you that those things were MINOR in comparison to the experience. Will use again, no doubt!

The 3 houses were perfect for our small family wedding.

  • 5 of 5

There was plenty of room for our 31 guests the rooms were comfy and each one made you feel at home. There were plenty of games to be played and books to read. However we were busy having a wonderful wedding reception on the deck. The owners/ house keepers we worked with were awesome and very responsive. I would highly recommend these rentals !

Amazing Venue for our Life & Business Coaching Group Meeting

  • 5 of 5

We lead a Life & Business Coaching Group comprised of couples and singles from all across the country. We meet together 3 times a year in various locations for 3 days of mastermind sessions. This venue was perfect in our search for a more "getaway/retreat" style venue vs meeting at a hotel venue, yet still having the ability for folks to "have their own space"! We even had two couples bring their kids and this venue was plenty of space for the kids to have fun while the adults met undisturbed during the business sessions. No complaints or even improvement suggestions from the group on their units...everyone wants to come back to this venue again!!! Several of us stayed a few extra days in the Main Lodge, which was where we stayed all week and it proved to be THOROUGHLY stocked and we were not lacking for a single thing. So nice to have 3 separate buildings so close together. We did have some unanticipated needs during the stay and Tammi was amazing...super responsive and an absolute pleasure to work with. We have had experience with 2 other VRBOs and this was by far the EASIEST check out process EVER! Makes for departure to be so much less stressful and I wish other VRBO owners would do the same. We'll absolutely be coming back and highly recommend this place for anyone considering it.

Epic Family Reunion 2016

  • 5 of 5

First, I want to thank you for allowing our family to be your guests for our family reunion August 5th-8th, 2016! We had the most wonderful time together and we had plenty of space to be together or take a little break for some down time. We had some unexpected visitors with the bears but it made for some excitement and great pictures! The only thing that I can say negative is that the areas not used as much were not cleaned as well and had some spider webs in the cottage shower and a few of the apartments smelled very musty. We were able to easily take care of these minor issues. Now I have to compliment Tammi for being amazing to work with from the very beginning and throughout the entire experience!! I am so thankful we stumbled upon this little heaven on earth and we are already talking about our next reunion and it will be there! Thank you all!! Much Love, Heather

Loved our family reunion!!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely spot to meet with three generations. The location suited our family coming from Virginia, Kentucky and South Carolina. The CA and CO young nieces flew in and out of Knoxville, an hour and 20 minutes away. We needed all the bedrooms and appreciated the king beds. There are many interesting bedrooms and apartments, often with full kitchens, and plenty of baths. The kitchen in the main lodge suited us with enough chairs and dining space and the picnic tables on the deck made for lovely dinners.

The rooms were clean with updates in the bathrooms. The main lodge kitchen is great with three coffee pots. One had grounds still in it, but that is so minor I feel jerky even mentioning it. There is a lot for the cleaning crew to do between guests.....and I appreciated how clean everything was.

We enjoyed one of the hot tubs for a short while....it is very nice....but this July has been just too hot. Love to return in the fall and spend evenings in the tub.

I definitely recommend your lovely lodges and cottage. It is not easy to find lodging for a big crowd where you can cook and relax all together......this is a gem!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review! We are so glad your family had a great time. Sorry for the coffee ground oversite. You are right....it is easy to miss some of these things when you only have 5 hours between guests to get the entire place clean! We hope you come back again! Laurie

Rented all cabins had 32 people at the sight.

  • 4 of 5

The rooms need to be cleaned better kids playing went under bed has not been cleaned for awhile. View was great off the back deck! Some of the other views need to have trees trimmed or removed to improve view. The placed needs sprayed for critters of all kind! Overall the place was very nice to have a family reunion. Family Could eat together, with lots of chairs inside and out. Hot tubs were a hit! Need better directions to swimming pools. View from family room was beautiful with the ever changing smokies! Left some clothes accidentally will see resolution. Kitchen had about anything needed we brought items we did not need. The restaurants we went to were very good. The family at different times did a lot tubing, helicopter rides, tram to top of mountain, horseback riding, zip lining, titanic, ghost tour, Cade's cove, dome, hayfield McCoy show, fishing on cheeokee lake, and more all of which we had positive feed back. Overall the entire family had a great time. If you rent ride up to cabins is and will be scary for some. Narrow roads with no room on sides. Called owner for garbage pickup because animals she was very good about pluck up. Had bear on property with in flordia they are referred to as ring tail black panthers, commonly referred to as coon.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write this nice review! I will go over your housekeeping issues with the staff. So sorry you found a few things below par. We are always happy to come back and address any housekeeping issues while the guest is in house. The houses are sprayed every month for pests. Not sure what you meant by critters. If it was the bear and racoon, consider yourself lucky! To see a bear while in the smokies is not as common as some think and most think it is a highlight of the trip. There are 3 different ways to get to the lodge. Some are more winding than others. To flatlanders, I am sure they are all a bit daunting. However, when in the mountains.....you get the mountains! Hope you come back again! Laurie
