Why Mary Ellen Warner chose Bay St Louis
The owners return to the Gulf Coast regularly for rest and relaxation. They are pleased to have the opportunity to restore and preserve this historical 100 year old cottage, 'La Petite Cachette' (Little Nook). They love their home and want to share this restored piece of coastal history.
What makes this Cottage unique
This Creole home is one of the few 'Biloxi Cottages' to survive after Katrina. The typical 'Biloxi Cottage' is a locally popular vernacular house that is typified by a gable roof, undercut gallery, and four bay facade with doors in two central bays. 'La Petite Cachette' is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a special property that seamlessly blends the history of a past lifestyle with the modern luxury of today. The 'barge board' bookshelves and hardwood floors are incorporated with the modern luxury of the private pool, WIFI, and flatscreens.

Great visit! Clean, great pool area.
Relaxing, comfortable and would definitely return.
Adorable & private
We rented the guest quarters for extended family while we stayed in the main house below. This adorable apartment was perfect for our family who came to visit from New Orleans and join our little vacation in BSL. It allowed them privacy when needed but we could all be together for meals, games and family fun time. The apartment provided everything you would need and more. Just pack a bag and you feel right at home. Pool was a blessing during the hot July weather!
Quaint Cottage Home
This is my first vacation without my husband. Being a mother of two baby girls, it can be nerve racking traveling alone. However, Ms. Mary’s home was definitely a home away from home. This historic home was cozy and comfy. I can be a bit OCD with cleanliness and the house checked all my boxes from the squeaky clean bathrooms to perfected kitchen. The bed was so soft and sheets smelt fresh. The home was stocked with all the essentials and then some. The pool was perfect in every way. Ms. Mary welcomed us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. I felt safe, secure and enjoyed every moment of our stay. My mom lives 5 minutes away and I can’t wait to come and stay again. Thank you for making this vacation one of the best!
The kids and adult as alike had a blast
As a family vacation this was so great! We rented the top space and my sister in law and her family rent the bottom half. It was such a wonderful experience!
Great place for a long weekend.
Quiet, shady, relaxing retreat.
Sparkling clean. Rented entire house. Many wonderful books. Nice pool with everything we needed. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Good location. Very comfortable.
This guest quarters are located upstairs in a house on the National Historic Register. It is the camel-back section of a double shotgun home. The guest quarters have been completely renovated and are very private and comfortable. The house is part of a historic district in Bay St. Louis.
