This 4000 sq. Ft home has got it all from restaurant quality appliances in the kitchen, and an outdoor hot tub looking over the ski runs of the whitefish mountain resort. The open floor plan of the main floor allows for everyone to be together and is ideal for entertaining. The master bedroom is on the first floor with a beautiful master bath. A king size bedroom is upstairs with it's own separate sitting room and bathroom. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom in the basement. The basement has another living room that has a pool table as well. Two fireplaces inside and two fireplaces outside on our expansive decks. This home screams 'mountain home'!!
We have been traveling with our two children to Whitefish for the past 6 years each summer and each winter. We have grown to love the area and the people and finally needed to have our own mountain home to share with others. We cannot express the beauty of the area. You'll have to come see for yourself!
Heather Solomon purchased this house in 2013
The location is ideal for all winter activities. The views are spectacular in all seasons and you don't have to drive anywhere in the summer or winter to go hiking or have an array of activities at your finger tips. Every season is a new adventure, which is one of the reasons we love Whitefish so much!!
Ski trail access only 150 ft. from this private home. Two car garage with a ski room to leave all your winter play gear. Relax outside in front of one of the two outdoor fireplaces or in the hot tub. Less than an hours drive from Glacier National Park.
My husband and I rented the house for the Thanksgiving Holidays as our 4 adult children and their spouses came for 4 days. The house is a gem. Very spacious and easily accommodated everyone without feeling crowded but has a warm feel. The guys really enjoyed the great room downstairs with a TV for football and a pool table. The bedrooms are well spread out giving privacy with easy access to bathrooms. The pictures of the house are spot on accurate. The house is well appointed with plenty of dishes, linens, towels etc... The decks are expansive with lovely views and wood fireplaces on each level. We did not use the hot tub but it is located on the lower level deck with a fireplace which makes for a nice setting. It is an easy 15 minute drive into downtown and only 30 minutes from the airport. The neighborhood is easily accessibly from the main road and we enjoyed lovely evening walks admiring the views and beautiful surrounding homes. Ski season had not started yet but this would be an awesome property for skiers. You are literally steps away from the the village and runs. We went to dinner at the StillWater Fish House the day after Thanksgiving and it was fantastic. McGarry's is also another lovely restaurant for dinner and Buffalo Cafe for breakfast but there are plenty of coffee shops and eateries downtown. We used a car service, Wildhorse Limousine for one of our late arrivals and early departures from and to the airport who provided excellent service. Paul the property manager was accessible and gracious. All in all this was a great family weekend in a beautiful home in a perfect setting. We would rent this property again and highly recommend it. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home.
I would recommend this property to anyone! It was amazing! Clean, beautiful and everything we could have wanted. My husband and I went here for our one year anniversary with 2 other adult couples to explore Montana and mainly Glacier National Park! Fall was the perfect time to visit, not many tourists so we felt like we had the whole town and park to ourselves! The hot tub and pool tables was a huge hit! Only regret is that we didn't stay longer! A huge thank you to Heather for helping make our stay as perfect as possible! We will be back! Thanks again
Our group of eight adults and one infant stayed at the Solomon's beautiful property on the Big Mountain to celebrate a milestone birthday. The home is spacious and comfortable, giving our group plenty of room to spread out. We loved drinking coffee on the porch and making fires, morning and night. It was wonderful to relax in the hot tub and soak in the peaceful mountain view. The kitchen had everything we needed and was spacious enough to easily cook dinners for our group. At the Solomon's recommendation, we hired Beth Dix from Delectable Desserts to cater a birthday dinner one night. I can't say enough amazing things about Beth. She put together a three-course dinner for us, which was absolutely excellent in both the quality of the food and the presentation. The birthday cake she made was one of the best I've ever had -- puts many wedding cakes to shame!
The property is a short drive into Whitefish and is also right around the corner from the Whitefish Mountain Resort. We enjoyed making day trips into Glacier National Park as well. I can't say enough great things about this house!
Also, of note to any future travelers with infants and small children, we rented baby equipment from Glacier Baby Outfitters. They were very professional and easy to work with. We rented baby toys and a playpen for my daughter. The house has ample space for a pack n play or travel crib in one of the many spacious closets.
We wouldn't hesitate to return to this house if we ever have the opportunity to go back to Montana.
Beautiful home in Whitefish.
The house was as pictured on line with plenty of space to spread out.
The outdoor fireplace was wonderful in the early morning and evening. Warmed ourselves in the area and enjoyed having wine and dinner after long hikes in the park at the table outdoors. A great way to relax and watch the sun setting through the trees.
The kitchen was nicely appointed with plenty of dishes and glasses. Wish there was more salt, olive oil and a few other staples but we went into town and replaced what we needed.
The master bath was wonderful, the bathroom on the upper level was very small but adequate. Plenty of big fluffy towels which was great.
We didn't get to use the sauna and tried to start it up a couple of times with no success. In all fairness we could have called the house manager but since it wasn't a priority we didn't bother.
All in all a beautiful home which we would return to.
The house was as described and provided for an awesome stay in Whitefish and a great home base for us to spend time in Glacier National Park. The town of Whitefish is very quaint and we enjoyed the restaurants, brew pub and the distillery. The house itself is well equipped for dining in and we enjoyed the outdoor fireplaces, hot tub and sauna. Thanks Heather, we had a great stay and would highly recommend your place to any one we talk to.
The house was really great and had plenty of room for all. Everything including the furniture was large, rustic and built to last. We all really loved the overall feeling and architecture. Having the outside fireplaces and hot tub on the deck was a huge plus. I normally am out on the slopes all day and don’t spend much time in whatever house or condo we end up renting, but this year was an exception as I broke my shoulder (skiing) 1.5 weeks before we came to Whitefish and thus I was confined to quarters for the entire 10 day stay. If you are going to be uncomfortable and suffer, I could not think of a better place to do that then here. I am also a diehard Villanova Basketball fan and the house had all the right sports channels available and so I got to see all the games (helped make up a bit for not being able to ski).
The entire family enjoyed the stay and the place was large enough to provide separation if you wanted it. Access to the slopes was also very convenient.
Big mountain towers above the resort town of whitefish with views to the gorgeous glacier national park, flathead valley, and even the canadian rockies. The resort has over 3,000 acres and a vertical drop of 2,500 feet. There's plenty of snow every winter, and high-speed quads move you around the aptly named mountain. Great tree skiing, too, and a friendly local vibe makes big mountain a great montana destination. Fantastic restaurants on the mountain and down below in the town of whitefish make this a great place for foodies.
The summer time on the mountain has just as much to do if not more than in the winter. The resort at big mountain offers, zip line tours, walking in the tree tops, scenic lift rides, mountain biking, hiking, day spa, and much more. A short distance away is horseback riding, white water rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, glacier national park and much much more.
