About the property

Welcoming two bedroom available in Rolando, 1 mile from San Diego State University. We occupy the lower level of this five bedroom, split-level house, and are offering the separate street level, top of the house, with two bedrooms, own kitchen, livingroom, bathroom, laundry, and front-door entry.

A small front porch is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring beautiful San Diego. Keyless entry is programmed with your own code. Enjoy a quiet evening with a nice meal and a family game night or put your feet up and watch a movie on the big screen TV.


Winter rates are $135 per night (2 night min.) $750 weekly or $2600 per month. Cleaning fee $80 with $150 refundable security deposit when check-out is satisfactory. Additional fees and/or taxes may be added by Home Away.


Check-in: 4pm (no later than 8pm unless otherwise arranged)

Check-out: 10am (so we can ensure a clean, well stocked home for the next guest)


Kitchen: everything you'll need to feel like home including a full-sized fridge, microwave, new dishwasher, and double-oven. Full-sized washer and dryer are also in kitchen.

Bathroom: simple with a tub/shower and includes soap, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, and first aid kit.

Living room: hard-wood floors, sofa, big screen TV with cable, DVR, and movie selection.

Dining room: canyon view, table for meals or work.

Bedrooms: queen beds, comfy linens, and west-facing bedroom has canyon view with beautiful sunsets. Both bedrooms have closets with hangars. Front bedroom has TV with cable, large chest of drawers, iron and ironing board.

Wifi: available throughout home.


Our home was built in the 1940’s. We are conveniently located in Rolando/College area, at the top of a canyon, with a view and evening breeze.

Bus, grocery stores, restaurants and fast food are within easy walking distance.

Kroc Center, San Diego State University, Viejas Arena, Trader Joes, Alvarado Hospital, MTS Trolley, and freeways are one mile away.

North Park's craft breweries are a ten minute Uber away.

Hike or climb at nearby Mission Trails or try an indoor route at The Grotto.

Everyone says everything in San Diego is 20 minutes away. Rolando is truly the norm- it’s a 20 minute drive from/to airport, train-station, cruise ship terminal, Coronado Island, Belmont Park's Big Dipper Roller Coaster, Mission Trails Regional Park, downtown/Gaslamp, Grossmont Hospital/College, deep sea sportfishing boats, Balboa Park, Chinese Historical Museum, Petco Park, Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Old Town, and beaches. La Jolla Cove is 30 minutes by car and is great for snorkeling and viewing seals. You can also rent kayaks at La Jolla Surf Systems or book surf lessons at Surf Divas in La Jolla Shores.

Safari Park is 45 minutes north.

The historical mining town of Julian (Laguna and Cuyamaca) is 90 minutes away. Anza Borrego State Park (desert) is 2.5 hours east of San Diego, and a wonderful weekend trip.

Try out the many restaurants in Tijuana, BC México, just 20 minutes away, or head further south to Valle de Guadalupe to taste wines of Baja California (passport or card is necessary to cross border). Temecula's wineries are 1 hour north by car.


We are native San Diegans; a friendly, hard-working family. We know the area well and can suggest the best taco shops or restaurants, mountain bike and hiking trails, craft beer scene, and local attractions.

Our “casa” is a great option for visiting professors, international teachers, traveling nurses, or family touring SD/visiting their SDSU student.

We look forward to welcoming you to our quiet, friendly, family home and neighborhood near SDSU and just minutes away from downtown and local beaches.


All people staying in the home must be identified on rental agreement and renters must agree to House Manual/Rules before check-in. All people entering the home including renters or guest visiting renters are subject to background criminal and Megan’s Law check.

Please no parties, loud TV, loud music, loud cars or motorcycles, yelling, fire-arms, smoking/vaping, rough-housing, excessive drinking, drugs, or illicit activity in or near rental at anytime. Do not remove, replace, or attempt to modify or repair anything in the home. This will result in immediate eviction, bad review, loss of security deposit, and additional costs for replacing items.

Please no pets. No guests not identified on lease are allowed in home after 9pm without prior approval from owners.

Window locks must stay locked on any windows that open to the second story if/when any child under 12 is in the home.

We are really happy to share with you with the items we have in our upstairs home. We have worked hard to decorate and stock the home to make your stay comfortable. Everything in the home belongs to us and our family who stay when they come into town. We thank you ahead of time for treating our things with care and following all instructions in the house manual. Please let us know quickly if something is broken or missing. We will review inventory list with you at check-in and check-out.
