We are uniquely situated minutes from 2 mountain towns - Bethel, ME and Gorham, NH. Each location offers great eateries and outdoor opportunities. We also have many outdoor activities immediately on the property. The size of this property allows for 18 people to stay comfortably; finally get your whole family or old friends together!
We had my entire family together for my parents' 50th anniversary, all 13 of us. This house was wonderful, very comfortable for that many people. The backyard was great, the kids even got to have a dip in the brook in the back and we had a nice fire a couple of nights. My only complaint was that alot of screens had holes that allowed bugs in and keeping windows closed in July just isn't possible. (Mentioned to landlord and he said he would look into it)I would definitely go ,back, lovely area and close to NH.
We recently stayed at the farmhouse for three nights. It was a gathering of my husband and myself with our three adult sons, two daughters-in-law and two grandkids ages 1 and 3 ½. Nine of us. We wanted a place to spend time together and yet have space to find quiet alone time. This home is just as described and shown in pictures. It is a great layout. No one felt crowded. Three went kayaking one afternoon, and the rest of us checked out a swimming hole nearby. We grilled out on the deck every night and easily all fit at the large picnic table. We had a fire in the fire pit every night, roasting marshmallows and watching fireflies and waiting for the stars to come out. There were four chairs out at the fire pit, and we brought four lawn chairs from home. The large back yard is one of the best things about this property, and we greatly enjoyed it. I had hoped the lawn would be freshly mown, and sure enough, it was. We also enjoyed all fitting around the dining room table for breakfasts, and appreciated the high chair and booster seat. Also the crib. We were very comfortable here.
Also, the owners promptly answered all my emailed questions before our arrival.
Thank you, Hayley and Dan!
This was my second time to the property, and it was just as great as i remembered. Plenty of space. House was clean and comforting.
Cant wait to stay again!
We stayed with a group of extended family and friends for a few day ski vacation. The house worked out great for the group - lots of space for everyone to spread out and relax after returning from the slopes. The owners were great - very responsive to any questions we had and even offered to allow us a later check out due to bad weather if we needed it. The ride to Sunday River was very easy and convenient. We would definitely stay here again!
Dan, thank you so much for renting this charming house to us for our skiing weekend at Sunday River! All three families were so happy when we entered the house--we all appreciated the space. The house was extremely clean and comfortably furnished--really liked the antique touches. We had two non-skiing adults so they really liked having the two living rooms. Dan was very responsive to our questions. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a large house to rent.
We had a fantastic time at the house. All the appliances and living spaces were very comfortable. The back yard and surrounding area were beautiful as always. We were surprised to see a home behind the home. I lived in the house about 40 years ago and really like the way the home was kept. Not a lot of changes and still had the creeky stairs and floorboards in some of the rooms. Definitely a home for a few families to visit at once or even for a single family looking for space.
