Aloha, My husband and I were born and raised in Hawaii and both grew up in Kailua. We have never left! Kailua is a little bit of heaven on earth. We invite you to come and enjoy Kailua and our lovely and welcoming home.
Why Judy chose Kailua
Location, Location!!! If you want to be close to the beach and close to kailua town, we are centered between the two on Kailua Rd., just walk the sidewalk a block and half each way. Comfortable remodeled original Hawaiian Hale (home) with a great deck, for eating and relaxing in a lush tropical setting, with an awesome ocean breeze! http://youtu.be/3KnSNFWH4oQ - check out this arial video of Kailua - Breathtaking!!!
What makes this House unique
Everything is so close! Kailua Beach is amazing to walk, run, swim, kayak, snorkel, and just relax. great places to eat and shop, and hiking less than a mile away. You will love Kailua!

Great location—close to beach and town. Beautiful yard and very comfortable.
We stayed here for five weeks and It was perfect! We loved being able to walk to the beach, restaurants, or target! The home was very comfortable. We used the washer & dryer, beach chairs, boogie boards, grill, and loved the beautiful little yard and front porch. There are so many nice beaches close by Kailua, Lanikai, Bellows, Sherwood, and we loved the Makapuu hike (we did it 5 times and saw whales every time!). The only down side was one bathroom for a three bedroom, but we knew it when we booked and made the best of it. There is an outdoor shower but it’s cold!
I would stay here again in a heartbeat and have recommend it to friends and strangers already!
Thank you so much for staying with us! We are so glad you enjoyed our vacation home, location, and our little town of Kailua. We are planning on running hot water to the outside shower soon! Please come back again!
An outstandingly presented, equipped and located property, and fairly priced.
Simply put, this doesn't feel like a rental property - it feels like a home, and a beautifully presented one at that. Judy was a very considerate owner who did her best to accommodate us on our arrival day, and also responded promptly to problems with the internet connection (which were effectively resolved). The location is excellent, about 10 minutes walk from the beach in one direction, and the same distance from the town centre in the other.
The only point worth noting is that the property is not a stand-alone house. It is divided into three separate, but adjoining, rental units of which this is one. The laundry and grill are shared and conversations can be heard from the adjoining unit. It wasn't clear to us from the listing that this would be the case, but it didn't detract from our stay as it turned out.
Overall, we would highly recommend the property and would certainly stay again in future.
Great location, neat and clean and well stocked
Only down side for a 3-bedroom is the single bathroom. Otherwise, perfect house!
A lovely 1950's house with authentic Hawaiian scale and feel.
This small home has a wonderful, simple vibe that our group loved.
It is SO clean it is impressive. I property manage vacation homes so I know.
We had five adults in our group and we used the cruiser bikes each day for quick trips to the beach or town. Very easy. We lived on the porch and ate breakfast and dinners there when we were "home".
One bathroom takes some getting used to, but it works. There are other rental properties with this property but we felt private. We used the studio outdoor shower often which helped , as the studio was not occupied.
The significant noise from Kailua Road is the one negative for this rental.
Just think of it as "the ocean waves..."! Judy's gardens are lovely and well maintained.
Jim stopped by and gave us some suggestions for dinners and hikes and he was spot on for us. We did them all.
The photos don't do this property justice in my opinion.
Rent this place!
I just got home after an 11-night stay at this property with my family (3 adults and 2 children ages 8 and 6). It was wonderful! We really appreciated all the extras that the house came with - bikes, lots of boogie boards, snorkel gear, and coolers, plus all the things we usually have to purchase when we rent VRBO properties (trash bags, hand soap, cooking spray, etc.). The owners kindly left us a welcome gift of chocolate macadamia nuts and coffee, so we were all set for our first morning!
We spent lots of time on the front porch relaxing when we weren't out exploring. The location is great - a short drive or walk to Kailua Beach, which is the BEST beach! It's not too crowded, has perfect soft, white sand, clear water and just the right size waves. We explored other beaches but Kailua was our favorite! It's a great spot to watch the sunrise if you're up that early. It's also very close to Kailua Town, where there is a Target, a grocery store, a Starbucks, plus lots of local shops and restaurants. We liked Maui Tacos and Formaggio.
The house is on a busy main road, but the parking area is right on the road (and plenty spacious), then there is a tall fence surrounding the property and the yard, so we actually never felt like we were on a busy road because the parking area and fence really shield you from it. The house actually felt quite secluded.
The only downside to the house was the lack of air conditioning in the living area and kitchen. The bedrooms have air conditioning and are very comfortable. But the main area of the house is not air conditioned and could be quite warm even with the windows open and the fans on. We really didn't spend much time inside at the house except when we were sleeping so it wasn't a big deal. We mostly stayed in the bedrooms or on the porch. There is just the one bathroom but it is spacious. If we were living there permanently it would be a problem but we managed 5 people for 11 days just fine.
Stop thinking about it and rent this house!
Perfect, cozy house right near the beach!
Perfect place for our family of 5...3 minute drive (if that) to Kailua beach, the most beatiful beach on oahu, imo. Judy is a perfect hostess who responds very quickly & helps with everything to make your stay a breeze. Will definitely be staying here again! Mahalo for everything Judy! Aloha
