We love the North Fork and have rented various homes over many, many summers. When the opportunity to purchase this lovely cottage came our way we couldn't resist. We are Long Island natives who love the out of doors. My husband is a competitive kayak racer and avid fisherman. I enjoy a good book, time spent in nature, especially by the water and a delicious meal with family and friends whether prepared at home or at one of our favorite restaurants. While we currently reside in Nassau County our goal is to retire to this cottage in a few years. We're happy we can share its natural peace and beauty with you.
Mary Or Emery Korpi purchased this bungalow in 2013
The perfect combination of waterfront - with no risk of flooding! - surrounded by nature. Close enough to encourage walking and biking to the magnificent Peconic Bay. Kayaking right out of our back yard and bird watching from every window and all 3 decks!
Wonderful outdoor space combined with cozy yet open plan cottage. We really enjoy relaxing on the deck and watching the water birds fishing in the creek. Osprey circling above - great white egrets wading through the creek at low tide - geese, ducks and swans swimming
by while we watch through the large windows with great views.
I had a wonderful stay at the Cottage in Laurel. Perfect size for my little family reunion. Beautiful views and everything you could need. Mary was so helpful and friendly. Very clean and inviting. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
This is the 2nd year in a row that my friends and I stayed at the cottage. A very lovely home with all amenities!
The cottage was perfect. My family and I are considering another visit next year! We didn't get a chance to use some of the perks (kayaks, bikes, beach) because of weather and schedules but maybe next time! The owners were helpful and accommodating. Cottage was clean and tidy. They thought of everything- even down to toys for my son to play with! We all had a wonderful time.
Wonderfully located, very well appointed with lots of toys for all! A glorious week of al fresco dining amongst the beautiful countryside, sharing with varied and exciting wildlife . ..including snappers!
Mary and Emery were so helpful in making arrangements for our stay, super quick correspondence and always going the extra mile to help make our stay super special.
There is plenty to do at the Cottage or if you want, in the local vicinity . . .why would you want to go miles away?!! We might even break the habit of a lifetime and actually return to a place we've enjoyed it was so good.
This was our third year staying at the Corpi's home in Laurel. There are so many reasons why we keep coming back. The house is perfect for our family- we have two small kids (4 and 7) that LOVE spending time at the house. The disc swing was a super-bonus for us this year! The kids loved it. They are content running around the yard, chasing bunnies, fishing off the dock and saying hi to the swans that feel like old friends at this point. We spent most days at Veteran's beach which is ideal for all of us. Great swimming with lifeguards, catching jellyfish and collecting shells. The playground at Veteran's is always fun. We spent a day at Breakaway Beach on the Sound- rocky but crystal clear water and not as much sand in our lunch! We hiked up to the Orient Point Lighthouse again and it was amazing! The four of us swam with the fish every day and had an amazing week! Lobster rolls in Greenpoint and daily Magic Fountain ice cream were highlights. This is the kind of low-key vacation that I want to replicate every year. Thank you for a great stay!!!
This was a surprise adventure weekend for my husbands 50th birthday. The house was awesome.Everything is clean and neat and waiting for you!! The goodie basket upon arrival was great. We took daily trips to the local wineries and all of the highly recommended food venues. After a long day out and about it was great to come HOME!! We can's wait to do it again!! Thank you Mary and Em for a sharing your "little piece of heaven."
