We were in Glen Ellen for our daughter's nuptials and this exquisite property provided us with an amazing sanctuary

in the middle of the hubbub leading up to the big day. It was wonderful to have the serenity and seclusion the house provided. And since we're all table tennis nuts, there was that stimulation as well! And it was great for our friends, who came in from all parts, to pop up and see us, have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, before the big day. In my opinion, the photos on the website don't do the property justice. It was much larger than I thought. Plenty of space for 3 couples. And so quiet. Great for birdwatching too (thanks for the provided binoculars). And we were walking distance to Glen Ellen Star, our new favorite restaurant! We very much look forward to returning to Chauvet when we have more time to enjoy this exquisite house. Thank you!

Friends weekend

  • 5 of 5

We loved this beautiful house and property in Sonoma. There were 3 couples - we meet every October for an adult get-away. This place was perfect for 3 couples - great kitchen, separate bathrooms, ping pong, horse shoes, board games, books, etc. Great places to run very close to the property. The property is beautiful and the layout of the home is well thought out. Love it - we would definitely come back again!

Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at this beautiful property. The 4 of us 40-something professionals really appreciated the smart design and beautiful aesthetic of the home and property - every square inch had clearly been well thought out. The "natural modern" design is very calming, sophisticated...and very "California."

The property is very quiet, yet close enough to stroll into town to dine at a handful of great restaurants, and shop at the darling little market. (Sidebar - we happened to hit the "heatwave" where the temps were into the 100's - thank goodness for the pool as there is no a/c. I am sure there are only 2-3 days per year when it might be needed).

We rented a car and found a great wine tour service to drive us around in our rental car to see various wineries (Intimate Wine Tours out of Napa). It was a great way to go. Beyond that - we were so content to stay "home" and listen to music on the Sonos by the scrabble...have some wine...attempt to play ping pong...cook in the chef's kitchen...peruse the many beautiful coffee table books...and admire the beautiful birds, deer, and apple orchards adorning the large property.

Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Chauvet House for three nights with another couple and our children. We were looking for a weekend away at a beautiful house with a great pool. The house was wonderful and the layout was perfect for our two families. The outside area was beautiful and the pool was amazing, we felt very secluded even though we were a few minute walk from town! We cooked at the house and had takeout one night from a local restaurant. The property far exceeded our expectations and as others have said, the pictures do not capture the beauty of this property. While we never felt the need to leave the house, there is great mountain biking and hiking close by as well as everything that Sonoma has to offer. The property manager was very helpful and quick to answer any questions and very accommodating. We would highly recommend this place and we would definitely stay again.

Beyond My Expectations -- Absolutely Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Chauvet House for 3 nights as part of our wedding weekend. We got married at a local park with a few of our friends but wanted to have a "compound" for our friends to gather for meals and fun activities. I found the house online after researching many properties in the area and thought the style and layout would work well for our group (i.e. large kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, pool, cool style, etc.). The house has great pictures online but once we arrived I knew I found the right place!! We loved the stunning grounds filled with tall trees, all the seating areas (1 with a fire pit), lounge chairs by the pool--outside is its own private oasis. We ate every meal outside!

The inside was just as spectacular. The interior is open and easy to move around. It has great furnishings and very well stocked kitchen. Our "cook" loved all of the nice pots/pans, range, refrigerator, etc. The kitchen lacks nothing! Many of our guests also marveled at the house and wanted to stay longer! I wish we had more time than just our 3 days too! It was so relaxing – I truly didn't want to leave. Liselle, who handled all my questions prior to arriving, was a gem. She never seemed bothered by my questions and always answered them timely. I can’t wait for a return visit to the amazing A++ property!

Far Exceeded Expectations

  • 5 of 5

This home is fabulous. The photos of the property do not do it justice and we were all surprised by how much better it was in life than on the website. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the master bedroom is huge, ideal for us as a couple travelling with a toddler, our nanny and adult friends. The interior of the house is beautiful, spacious, tasteful and - everything worked perfectly, was well designed and comfortable. Every single lightbulb and piece of equipment was in tip top condition - as someone who travels and rents homes frequently, this is a rare convenience. Luxurious linens, towels, bathrobes definitely put this home way ahead of others. The privacy of the property was particularly appealing, and as the garden matures and the grove of pear and apple trees grow to full size it will be a magical 'hidden' garden. This is not a complaint, rather a niggle/observation - the pool is surrounded by slabs and then gravel, so to get from the house to the pool it is necessary either to walk across the gravel barefoot of find flip flops - my toddler struggled a bit with this idea. For older children/adults this isn't a problem ... and of course there are 'house' flipflops by the door from the house to the pool - indeed every comfort is catered to in this home.
