Camden Cabin Rental Photos and Description

16' X 22' One Room Cottage On A 60' Knoll. 360 Waterviews

The perfect cottage getaway, Oak Island is one of the most magical islands in all North America.

The views of the mountainous mainland and surrounding islands provide a magnificent backdrop to the beauty of Oak Island. Enjoy vistas of Penobscot Bay; explore the island's rocky coastline; walk the gentle slopes of the island's extensive trail system past sumac, juniper, gooseberry, spruce, and wild cherry trees. The meadows are blanketed with extravagant shows of blooming scarlet, pink and white beach roses, wild strawberries and raspberries . Kick back and relax while you watch the seals, porpoises, and hundreds of birds, including bald eagles, which make their home on the island each day. The island is 17 acres at high tide and 27 acres at low tide and has 5 separate beaches separated by rocky outcroppings.

Oak Island is a gem. If you like camping, you'll be just don't need a tent. If you're okay with vats of water for cleaning dishes and yourself, you'll be fine...there was an outhouse-didn't use it (we brought our own loo) didn't go out at dusk b/c the mosquitos came out, but they were gone in the's Maine... - we went with a 5-year old and he had a great time climbing rocks - exploring the island - collecting rocks, sand dollars, sea urchins, etc...loved seeing sunsets and sunrises... loved going out on the lobster boat with Barney... we brought food for the week and it was fine - the fridge works great! You can get mussels during low tide and cook them up. The beaches at low tide are wonderful! There are sailboats and lobster boats and islands to see all day. You can kayak around the island - sunrise was a great time. We brought our own linens. We had a wonderful and memorable time. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner and the property manager. What a unique experience.
