Beautiful, peaceful retreat
Loved our stay at Casa Amarilla. Private, perfectly situated in a quiet community. Private pool, laundry, separate bedrooms and plenty of windows to open to catch the afternoon breezes made it a perfect place for 2 couples. Kitchen was well stocked with all amenities (coffee maker, tea kettle, pots, pans, etc) .Property management was readily available to help with being locked out. Beaches, shops and resteraunts were all within walking distance. We will definitely be back!
Love the home and it’s proximity to the beach. We’ll be back
Thanks Scott. Come back anytime!
Great location, pool was just right, and food in area restaurants was so good.
Beds were comfortable.
Very Peaceful, worth the trip!
Casa Amarilla, along with Nova, Heinz, and Erica were all wonderful. We really enjoyed our time in playa grande. The house is as advertised, and worth a visit. Very quick 5 minute walk to the beach, and options for diner within walking distance. There is also a mini mart a few minutes walk from the house as well.
Relaxing home in laid back area with easy beach access
We stayed here for a week and had a great time. Playa Grande is much more laid back than the tourist Tamarindo across the estuary. The staff at Bula Bula were friendly and helpful in directing us, and we ate there a bunch of times since it was convenient and tasty. It's a short walk from the house to the beach, and we went out to watch the surfers and catch the sunset almost every night. In the Playa Grande peninsula there are a bunch of small hotels, bistros and cafes, and we were able to eat out somewhere different almost every night. Some surprisingly great food (Cafe Mar Azul was brilliant). We only went to Tamarindo one day, but it was easy to take the water taxi across the estuary to visit, the only downside is you have to be back by 5pm, when they stop running.
The house itself is smallish, but cozy. Has AC units in every room. We didn't have any real trouble with insects in the house, but there were a few house geckos who came out at night, I assume they were eating any intruding bugs. The pool is pretty much as you see in the pictures - it gets a lot of leaf materials, especially when the winds are up, but that's what you get for having beautiful trees shade the pool in the heat of the day. We just used the pool scoop to stay on top of it since the pool guy only comes twice a week.
We saw lots of birds and wildlife in the area too, which was great. Morning birds weren't terrible, but they started at daybreak.
Erica was super helpful in finding us tours and very responsive to our email.
Great place to relax and enjoy Costa Rica, nice location close to the beach close to nice restaurants, very enjoyable.
