West Novato is serene and quiet -- away from the noise of the highway. A two minute drive to lakes and pasture lands with beautiful views of Mt Burdell and popular walking paths.

Indian Valley golf course on Stafford lake is a 5 minute drive west. Five more minutes you can visit The Marin French Cheese Company, which is the oldest cheese manufacturer in the USA and a unique part of American history . Known by locals as The Cheese Factory and by its brand name, Rouge et Noir , Marin French has produced hand-crafted Artisan soft-ripened cheese since 1865.

Drive another 20 minutes and you're in Point Reyes Station- home to Cow Girl Creamery, art galleries, and shops.

Old Town Novato has history museums, a fun Irish Pub (Finnegans), 2 wine tasting rooms, 2 breweries, antique stores, Whole Foods, & many eclectic restaurants. Hop Monk Tavern is a popular entertainment venue with great food, and their own brewery. Another favorite is the historic Rancho Nicasio Road House owned by Bob Brown (famed manager of Huey Lewis and the News). Sometimes there are big surprise performers & only a 20 minute drive through beautiful West Marin. The Larkspur Ferry Terminal is 20 minutes south on 101. Ferries leave hourly for San Francisco but the Golden Gate Bridge is just a 30 minute drive.

Historic Sonoma Square and the beginning of Wine Country is a 20 minute drive. There are more than 370 wineries for you to enjoy in Sonoma County alone. Napa Wine Country-home to around 400 wineries-is just 30 minutes away.

When you arrive we'll offer dozens more places to see and experience-all that are within 45 minutes!

Week in burning Napa and Sonoma Valley

  • 5 of 5

We had planned this trip since early summer. 2 daysbefore leaving, Robin called and told us if the fires. We still went and had a delightful time in this great little cottage. Very well located, very clean, comfy beds, fluffy towels

Owner's Response: Thank you, Sandy! I'm so glad you had a good time in spite of the having to make changes to your itinerary. (The fires are mostly contained 9 days later) If we can accommodate you on your next trip, we'd love to see you again! Thanks, Robin

Quail Cottage getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Quail Cottage far surpassed our expectations. Every detail for a comfortable stay was met. Robin saw to it that our "inbound", "during" and "outbound" visit was graciously attended to. She gave perfect directions to destination points, engaged in lively conversations, and attended to any need or request that we had. We enjoyed the hot tub each night after our daily outings and then slept soundly wrapped in crisp sheets on wonderful mattresses. We enjoyed light meals outside on the deck and in the evening, we were able to watch a little TV on the big screen she had on the wall.

All in all , the Quail Cottage was a "10" for a vacation accommodation, home away from home.

Thank you so much Robin for your hospitality in making our visit totally fabulous!

Fabulous Host and a Cozy Private Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Quail Cottage is well taken care of private guest home that is very comfortable for a couple, a pair of couples, or small family.

We used the home as a base for exploring wine country, San Francisco, and the NASCAR race in Sonoma. It is central to all these locations.

Robin was a fabulous host. It's the little things that make a house a home, and she has thought of them all. We were truly very comfortable and happy, feeling right at home for the week.

I highly recommend Quail Cottage for your next NorCal adventure!

May Golf Trip

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Quail Cottage for two nights while our son was in a golf tournament. Robin is absolutey the best!!! From the moment we made the reservation, I knew we were going to be well taken care of. The cottage is extremely clean and super cute! We spent a lot of time on the patio and in the hot tub. The cottage is well stocked and had everying we needed to cook our meals. We will definitely be back and can't wait to see Robin again!!!
