Overview

Healdsburg House Rental Photos and Description

2+ BR, 2 BA, 50 Acres, Views, Huge Deck, 10 Mins to Healdsburg & Wineries.

Mill Creek is a mid-century modern home with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Just 10 minutes from Healdsburg square, it is completely private on 50 acres filled with Redwoods and Madrones. It's like being in your own secluded park.

The house has a complete, remodeled kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook a great meal. There are 2 remodeled bathrooms and a huge, furnished deck. Sit out, eat out, grill out, enjoy the privacy and views of the redwoods, madrones and mountain ridge. The huge stone fireplace uses BioFuel sparing the environment and producing great heat. Bring your music and stream to the built in sound system, or watch DirecTV on the 55' TV. The beds are great as are the sheets and comforters.

Hike our private trails, relax on the enormous deck, or take in the many wineries that are less than 10 minutes from the front gate. If you like biking, explore our street, Westside Road and West Dry Creek Road. Feel like getting wet? Rent a canoe and go out on Russian River. Wind down on the deck in complete privacy.

Healdsburg is just 10 minutes from the house and offers world class dining, shops and wine tasting. Our manual includes a list of our favorites. Great food stores and more are just 9 minutes from the house.

DRIVEWAY NOTE: Our home is on a hillside. The driveway is paved but contains curves and one switchback. Most drivers handle the driveway easily, but it is windy and steep. Please use caution, especially when wet.

SMOKING NOTE: Our home and property are completely non-smoking. Smoking is not permitted in the house or anywhere on the property.

It's hard to find complete comfort and privacy so close to Healdsburg and Wineries. Enjoy!

Pros and Cons

  • 4 of 5

The views from this property are gorgeous. You are located up on a mountain - totally secluded. It is very peaceful and quiet. We saw some of the most beautiful moon risings we have ever seen. The house is conveniently located close to wineries, the Safeway and the town of Healdsburg. The beds are very comfortable and the house is well stocked. The downside is that the house does not have central A/C. While the nights are cool, the days were very warm. However, they did have 2 portable AC units that worked well. The internet was off and on. We were not able to get a connection about half of the time - especially in the mornings. When we did get a connection, it was very slow. (we use AT&T so it should have worked) In addition, we were not able to fully enjoy the wrap around balcony due to the very aggressive yellow jackets. As soon as we tried to sit outside they would come around and there was no way we could eat outside with them buzzing around so aggressively. This is our 7th year in a row coming to wine country - always at the same time - and we've never had a problem with yellow jackets until this trip. With that being said, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. You just can't beat the location, privacy, peacefulness and views...

Beautiful surroundings and well stocked home

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at this home. The wrap around deck is really lovely with beautiful views of the hills and thick forest. It's a quick drive to Healdsburg and there are dozens of wineries in the immediate vicinity of the home. The house is well stocked and we found everything we needed. The floor to ceiling windows are beautiful. Only two recommendations- bring your own washcloths for removing makeup as the owners don't want you to use their white ones (would be nice if they supplied some darker towels for this), and if you have animal allergies, this isn't the place to stay as there have obviously been dogs in the home and there is hair on the couch and pillows. But overall, a nice place that feels quiet and serene.

Perfect setting for a getaway week or weekend

  • 4 of 5

This two bedroom retreat was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, secluded on a mountain top. But it was just minutes away from Healdsberg and wineries. We went on a bike tour and stopped at a number of boutique wineries. The accommodations were casual and relaxed. The bathrooms and kitchen had been upgraded and fit perfectly into this retreat. We experienced one minor inconvenience - no water pressure in the kitchen - but Eric jumped on the issie and tracked down a plumber to fix the problem. Overall, we had a great time and would return in the future. Would definitely recommend to our friends.

Beautiful place in the tree tops

  • 5 of 5

Talk about peaceful and relaxing, this is the place. Located at the top of a mountain along a winding road, with the tops of trees and view of other mountains is all you see from the beautiful floor to ceiling windows!

Jeff & Eric's place is well kept and well stocked. Both of the bedrooms had very comfortable beds and pillows. It was nice crawling under the fluffy down comforters each night.

We enjoyed having a fire in the fireplace each night and morning, so easy to do, just pour in the Bio-fuel and light it. Believe it or not it does warm the room.

Wish we would have had time to explore however it rained on day of arrival and other day spent doing Dry Creek Valley Passport wineries.

Thank you Jeff and Eric for your place and we would definitely stay again.

Just a side note, if anyone knocks at the door late at night looking for the Red Hair tiny house, it is at the bottom of the hill across the pond.

Woodsy Escape

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend stay beginning of April. The reviews about the driveway are on point; it is somewhat scary especially in the rain/dark to navigate, but totally worth it for the house at the top of the hill. Being up in the treetops with the sounds of nature was amazingly peaceful. The house was perfect for us (two 30yr old couples) with the 2 full baths and big bedrooms - the king in the master was very comfortable. We especially appreciated that the house was stocked to cook - all spices, oils, condiments, trash bags, cookware, pans, Tupperware, dishwashing liquid, sponges, paper goods etc. were provided. We made breakfast each morning (coffee maker, too) and grilled the first night. The porch is a lovely hang out spot though the mosquitos were a pest since it was rainy/wet most of our weekend. We played lots of cards and listened to music through the air play system. The cell service is pretty much non-existent, but the Wi-Fi was decent. The town square, Safeway grocery store and multiple wineries are very accessible while the house felt very remote. We'd definitely come back!

Owner's Response: Thanks Kate! We have great AT&T cell service usually. Depends on the carrier.

Hilltop Dream Home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely house in the woods for 6 weeks in January/February 2016 with our Aussie dog & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our favorite time of the day was sitting on the deck & enjoying the forest scenery & the quietness of the surroundings. The walk up & down the paved driveway was a treat & our dog loved it. The house was spotless clean with a wonderful modern kitchen that was so easy to cook in. The beds were very comfy with nice linens. The location was convenient to Healdsburg, Santa Rosa & surrounding wineries. Eric got us set up & was very nice to deal with. We are well-seasoned travelers & HIGHLY recommend staying at this location & hope to return. Retirees from Kentucky
