Charming apartments in the historic Camozzini Palace

Bedrooms 1
Space 60 m²
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Two individual apartments with 1 bedroom + sofa-bed to sleep 2-5 people

The 16th century Camozzini Building is immersed in an ancient and peaceful area of old-town Verona known as 'Cadrega'.

Surrounded by other prestigious buildings it is situated in the vicinity of the beautiful, historic church of S.Eufemia, 5 minutes from the Arena, Piazza Erbe and Juliet's balcony.

This elegant residence belonging to several generations of noble families was built on the foundations of buildings dating back to Roman times (original stones are still visible in the cellars). The typical Venetian features have been carefully preserved ,despite small changes being made due to changing tastes over time.

While the outside façade follows the original style of the late Renaissance, the internal decorations and frescoes were updated during the neoclassical period.

We breathe the same sense of history in the 'Antica Verona' apartments, located inside of the Camozzini Building.

Note: a guided visit to the Camozzini Building is offered to all our guests

IMPORTANT: the owner lives in the same building and is always available to meet the needs of the guests or requests for information.

In the heart of Verona: The apartment has a strategic position in the centre of Verona, halfway between Piazza Erbe and the Cathedral (Duomo). This allows guests to walk to all the major monuments, museums and churches of the city easily, without having to depend on troublesome transfers with public transport or long journeys on foot. For Opera lovers, the Arena is easily reachable on foot in about 10 minutes. The apartment includes heating, air conditioning, TV LCD, washing machine, microwave, hair-dryer, iron and internet wi-fi.

Your Wedding or Celebration Venue: : The apartments are also perfect for use along with the building's central hall or ballroom where additional

accommodation may be required. This very large open hall along with the adjacent rooms have recently been restored to their former glory and are perfect for celebrating a special occasion, special events, wedding receptions or for corporate entertaining.

Some newly weds have found it particularly enchanting and practical to stay in the same building as the reception celebration.

The main section of the palace is also available for exclusive rental use.

About Carlo

Hello, I'm Carlo and I am a painter.

I was not born in Verona, but I have known this beautiful city through my wife Giovanna.

My wife's family lives since 80 years in this old building, and with her, we began accommodate friends visiting the amazing monuments of this city.

I decorated both apartments with paints 'trompe l'oeil' paintings and canvas. My family loves classical music.

In the 'Salone' (the Ballroom) of our building we host concerts of classical music and Opera.

Why Carlo chose Verona

Because ours is not a commercial structure, it is a home.

What makes this apartment unique

The unique benefits include the opportunity to live in the city center without the noise of traffic and public places.

To our guests we apply a discount on the ticket of the Opera performances inside the 'Palazzo Camozzini'

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for a wonderful week in your charming apartment.

It's central location was perfect in this beautiful city.

I loved exploring Verona with so many sights to see.

The Opera was great & your Palazzo was spectacular.

Once again thank you,

Laura & Barbara - UK

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Anticaverona which FAR SURPASSED its very accurate website description!!! Not only is it located within 5-15 minutes' walk from absolutely every place we wished to visit in Verona (the Arena, the famous churches, Piazza Erbe, Roman excavations, the river, the train station, good shops and restaurants and etc.), but everything one could possibly want/need was provided in the charmingly decorated ("period" furniture, "frescoed" walls) apartment-- ample linen, a good iron and board, every type of pot, pan, kitchen utensil, cutlery, cleaning product (even a good pair of scissors!) TV and air-conditioner, fridge, cooker and etc. all worked perfectly.

We were hot and tired after our long journey to Verona and found, welcomingly waiting for us in the kitchen cupboard, a wonderfully generous "starter pack" (coffee, tea, limone cakes, dried pasta, olive oil and balsamic, salt/pepper, and etc. etc.); everything, in fact, which we might need until we could get to the shops. The owners had provided tourist information and useful booklets, maps, restaurant recommendations and even a (useful, as there were two of us coming and going!) spare set of keys!

The owners are warm, charming, welcoming people who ,one felt, wished to make our stay at Anticaverona as delightful and productive as possible and to provide a "home away from home" for us and we look forward to returning to Anticaverona in the future!! (This is one of those "finds"--those "little gems" --that one is almost tempted to keep secret so that it is available for US when we wish to return!!)

Delightful stay in Apartment 2

  • 5 of 5

I stayed for a week in apartment 2, which included a lift to get there. This was important to me because of knee problems. I loved my stay in this beautiful old villa. The bedroom was very large and very sunny with the opportunity to open the windows to the sunshine and fresh air. the king size bed was very comfortable and there was a day bed in the room as well as a chair and other furniture. The apartment has a dining room/living space and a small but well stocked kitchen, including a very welcome small washing machine. Extra blankets, shopping cart and drying rack are also included in this apartment.

The location was excellent for me, being able to walk in different directions every day without putting too much strain on my knees. Verona is very beautiful and this was my favorite town of the 5 I stayed in on this trip.

I was lucky enough to arrive on a day when a piano recital was going to take place on the floor below me and was invited to attend. The room is historically beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the recital.

The very best part of this apartment (besides the sunny bedroom) was the host, Carlo. He is genuinely happy to have guests and eager to please. He has much knowledge of Verona and has thoughtfully provided many guide books and maps for his guests. He couldn't have been nicer and his smile will stay with you long after you leave. If I were to come back to Verona, this is where I would stay for sure.

Carlo was also very prompt in communicating with me before and during my stay, taking time to answer my many questions. I highly recommend staying here.

The stay was better than the description. The location is ideal, in the old city, near of all the interesteds points, and very nice to go arround. The owners were warm and kind and available (disponible) all the time. Of, course, is fully recomended.

Verona isvery atractive city: the steets, the piazzas, the foro romano, their coliseum is wonderfull, and go there to the opera is and amazing experience.

A very special apartment in the heart of Verona

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Antica Verona 2 during the Christmas and New Year period, after a recommendation from a friend who rented the apartment a couple of years ago. The flat is perfectly located in the centre of the old town near all the main sites, bars and restaurants, but on a quiet, residential street - the best of both worlds! It has all the amenities you might need in a holiday rental, including an in-built kitchenette, a spacious living-cum-dining room, and a spotless bathroom. It has been beautifully decorated by the owner, Carlo, who is an artist and lives in the building with his family. Carlo is extremely helpful and gave us all sorts of useful advice on Verona. He also gave us a tour of the beautiful rooms in the palace above the apartment on the 'piano nobile' which are used for operatic and music recitals. Highly recommended.

This place was amazing. It was better than expected in every way! Carlo and Giovanna were some of the warmest and most generous people we have met on our journey, and given that this is Italy, that is really saying a lot. The building is beautiful and it's really remarkable to have so much history right inside the walls. If I remember right, it was built in 1596, which means this house was built when Romeo and Juliet was being written.

Also, the apartment was well equipped, and everything is modern enough and works well. We were able to cook just about anything we wanted, and ended up making the majority of out meals at home… There is a charming vegetable shop about 50 steps out of the front door.

All of the arrangements were a breeze. Carlo was incredibly responsive, and everything went smoothly.

It was just like being at home, except in some romantic version of our life where we live in a historic palace with storybook views everywhere we look and the only thing we have to do is enjoy it!

I can't recommend this place enough!

Clean and comfortable apartment in ideal location.

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is ideally situated being in walking distance of the main sites, restaurants, etc.

We were given a very warm and friendly welcome by the owner and found the apartment comfortable and very clean.

You will see from the photographs of the apartment that the kitchen is small and built into a wardrobe style frame. There are two gas rings and a microwave so adequate for making light meals but not suitable for cooking on a large scale. However, with so many excellent restaurants nearby providing tasty Italian meals, we did not find this an inconvenience.

We went to Verona specifically to go to the Opera in the Arena and found this a magical experience. The Arena is within a 10 minute walk from the apartment so very easy to get to.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and hope to return ourselves one day.
