About Denise Dunnwald

My wife Denise and I fell in love with the Grants Pass Area before we got married. We now have 2 children and purchased this home for when we can get away. We decided to rent it as a vacation rental and hope you will enjoy the area as much as we do.

Denise Dunnwald purchased this house in 2013

Why Denise Dunnwald chose Southern Oregon

The property is serene and has lots of character. It has magnificent views of the river along with great fishing right out the back of the property.

What makes this house unique

The Views are incredible from any room in the home.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Here's my review of your lovely home, and thank you Denise, it was good working with you.

We recently used this lovely house for a wintertime "Girl's Weekend". It had everything we needed! The beds were all comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with every implement we needed to make meals, we played pool and watched the river flow by. In the evening we sat by the real fire and listened to music from the internet via the television. Everything was in working order and it was nicely decorated with modern furnishings which made us all feel completely comfortable. There is also a private lane to walk on and enjoy the pasture, barns, and trees. It was a place to relax and de-stress! Not only was it perfect for a 7-girl reunion, I would also recommend it for an adult retreat for artists and writers who might need inspiration. I'm going to tell all my local friends about it!

Great stay on the Rogue River

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our recent stay at this home. As a group of seven, there was plenty of space and we loved the location near the river. The kitchen was well equipped and great for cooking for a large group.

Amazing Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

Our group had 6 guests. The house was just the perfect size for us. We were able to spread out and sleep very comfortably. The location couldn't be better as it is right on the river. The views from the house were just amazing. Our aunt & uncle from overseas loved their stay. The laundry room was quite large which made doing laundry very easy.

The house was more than well stocked. We loved the coffee machine so much that we bought one when we got home. The hosts were so thoughtful that they even stocked bug repellent and sun block!

The house was so nice to stay in that we want to come back again.

House was well stocked.

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed staying here. House was well stocked and enough entertainment to keep busy. There were nine of us and it was comfortable. The disappointment was how the area for fishing was overgrown and there were no fish. Too rough waters. We thought it would be different and wasted our money buying fishing permits. The views of the river from the house were good but could have been better if the bushes had be trimmed. Overall it is a good place to stay with a big group but housekeeping needs to do a little more dusting and up keeping especially since we all pay a cleaning fee. Would stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your stay and we appreciate the comments. Unfortunately, you are incorrect about the fishing. This is one of the best fishing holes on the river as there is a creek that runs into it and the water is perfect for Steelhead. The water moves at a good pace, but that is what the Steelhead and Salmon both like. We cannot trim bushes along the river so people can have a better fishing experience. The house sits on the "Wild and Scenic" portion of the Rogue River and is both state and federally protected. The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) does not allow us to trim along the river nor would it have the same feel if we hacked the shore back so we can all cast our lines a little better. Both myself and my sons are avid fisherman and we use chest waders to get out in the water a little bit for a better fishing experience. We have always had great luck up and down the hole. You will also notice by all the guides that stop at this hole for extended periods of time, that the fishing hole produces many fish. Sorry your fishing experience was not as good.

Great location, view, space and amenities.

  • 4 of 5

Great location, view, space and amenities. Other than the weak water pressure of the downstairs shower and slight pet urine smell, we loved it. We loved the master suite and all the comfort of each sleeping area. Owners were very responsive and we definitely hope to rent this space again.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your stay and appreciate the comments. The property is on a well, so the pressure is only as good as what the well will provide. It is significant enough for a good shower, but doesn't give the same pressure as city water. I am not sure of the urine smell. We do not allow pets and the house is cleaned vigorously prior to any guests coming to stay. This is the first we have ever heard this and will ensure it is checked out prior to the next arrival. Thanks again and we look forward to having you as a return guest.

very impressed with the propety

  • 5 of 5

My family loved the property very well stocked, very clean. We loved the view, i would definitely come back. the one bad thing was we arrived at dark and had a little trouble locating the property off the street as the house numbers were closest to the ground instead of being eye level. other then that loved loved this place
