Charlotte Street House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 4 Baths (Sleeps 6 - maxmum)

Enjoy the wonderful sunsets. Relax with drinks on the main level deck with friends as sunset turns to dusk and the city lights begin to emerge. Point of View is a prime Asheville location for photographers who want a spectacular view of the city and its background mountains. The New York Times, Asheville Chamber of Commerce, and Southern Living Magazine have all photographed the awesome views. Bring your camera and see for yourself.

Spend your vacation in this 3106 SF, 3 BR, 4 BA finely appointed, private residence located on the side of Town Mountain, overlooking downtown Asheville and the Smoky Mountains. Less than one mile from the town centre, it has some of the most incredible city sunset views in the entire area. There are three decks from which you can enjoy the views. The master bedroom and bath are on the upper level with a deck off the bedroom for your own privacy. Off the main level living area is another deck for private sunbathing and elegant evening dinners. It comes equipped with table and chairs and a gas grill. On the lower level there is a main guest bedroom with full bath and a secondary bedroom with full bath. There is a lower level covered deck also equipped with tables and chairs. If it's raining, you can still enjoy the evening outside.

In front of the house near the main level entrance is a beautiful waterfall that will lull you into the vacation spirit with the peaceful sound of running water. It is shady with a table and chairs for the enjoyment of the sounds of nature...just pour the wine.

We are one minute from the center of Asheville, 5 minutes from the Grove Park Inn and 10 minutes from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. This home is located in a very private setting on 1.25 acres and will comfortably accommodate up to six adults with ample parking. The home also features wireless Internet and a Sonos full home wireless stereo system. The driveway allows parking for up to 12 cars.

About Roy Borden

We discovered Asheville many years ago, but it was not until 2000 that we were able to move here. We were attracted because of its natural beauty, its vibrant culture and its people. We have loved living in our home, but now is the time for us to spend more time with our grandchildren and to travel. We know you will enjoy our home as we have.

Roy Borden purchased this house in 2000

Why Roy Borden chose Asheville

We moved to Asheville in 2000 and purchased our home after looking at many, many homes and condominiums. We wanted a private, quiet setting, surrounded by vegetation, close to the center of town with incredible views of downtown and the mountains. We found that special place in Point of View.

What makes this house unique

This property is very close to downtown. You can walk to town, but advise getting a taxi to come back up the hill. The views as we have stated before are absolutely incredible. You will be amazed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved your home! The views are absolutely spectaculsr. The location is perfect. We felt completely at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, way better than the Grove Park! Thank you!

Perfect in every way...

  • 5 of 5

Point of View was perfect in every way. The location is great, the property is immaculate, and the view is breathtaking. I booked the rental for Labor Day Weekend with three close friends and was pleasantly surprised from the moment I pulled into the driveway. Roy's instructions made finding the place easy, and the detailed instructions for entry, "opening up" the house and using the electronics turned eliminated any chance of problem from what could have been a complicated situation. The house is actually larger than I had imagined from the photos and I was amazed at how nicely everything was maintained. You can tell that Roy really takes pride in owning and maintaining the property. The home and grounds are full of interesting art and sculpture, and Roy and his wife have paid attention to every detail. With three large bedrooms and a pull out sofa, there was ample room to gather as a group or find privacy. I'm not sure when I'll be back in Asheville, but whenever it is, I'll definitely try to return to Point of View for my stay.

Point of View is Fantastic place to stay in Asheville

  • 5 of 5

The view from the deck is beautiful! The inside of the house is so comfortable with amazing decor! The pictures of the house are recent pictures, mattresses and furniture are very comfortable. The decks are well furnished with tables and chairs, the bottom deck is covered with an area to sit outside even if raining.

The location can not be beat. The Biltmore House and Grove Park Inn are about 10 minute drives. Downtown restaurants are barely 5 minutes away.

Asheville is very easy to get around, and Point of View house puts you right in the middle of everything.

We really enjoyed spending time in the house ! Next trip to Asheville we will be staying in this house!

I would like to give 4.5 stars- but that is not an option. Virtually everything about the house was excellent, including Roy's responsiveness to any needs/questions we had. The only thing we wished was that there was a better interior space for all of us to "hang out"- something like a great room. There are a number of smaller areas to hang, but not one big open area. Other than that, everything was great: beautiful views, comfortable beds, cleanliness of the home, great stereo and AV and fantastic location where you can walk to town (~1-1.5 miles) and are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway for some nearby hikes.

Great views and great location

  • 5 of 5

My folks stayed at this place while they were visiting in town and loved the view, the location, and the accommodations. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and common space is great for hanging out. All in all a great place to stay while enjoying Asheville!

Wonderful stay in Asheville

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful house! The house was warm and inviting with lots of space and comfortable furniture. It was very clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. The location couldn't be beat, a quiet neighborhood only five minutes from downtown. The gardens were beautiful and the views were incredible! And the house had plenty of spacious decks to enjoy them.

We'd definitely stay here again!

Everything was as described. Great layout, close to town, and very comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience overall. Booking the property, relaxing on the balcony, preparing meals in the well stocked kitchen, and exploring downtown Asheville were all stress-free. Sensibilities Day Spa and fabulous meals at great local restaurants ensured our laid back vacation was also decadent. If you want a property that allows for alone and bond-building time in a beautiful setting, this is it!
