Chris Carlson and Dorthe Christensen, residents of Canmore for the past 17 years. Chris grew up in Alberta with an RCMP officer for a dad (Canadian Police Officer) and Dorthe was born and raised in Denmark. We lived in Denmark, Banff, Vancouver and Seattle before settling in Canmore while our two daughters were still in school. We have used VRBOand HomeAway for our own vacation needs many times ourselves and know the concerns facing a guest when booking a place.

Why Dorthe Christensen chose Canmore
Canmore is situated just outside Banff National Park, which means it is still in the mountains, but much less busy than neighbouring Banff. The area offers amazing views, fresh air and a lovely, friendly community as well as world-class restaurants and great shopping. Still, it is only about a 45-minute drive to the city of Calgary and all it has to offer, including a great university for our daughters and a major airport for our own get-aways. We love living here and would like to share our town and area with others through our vacation rental condo.
What makes this Condo unique
We chose this condo because we knew it would be of the very highest quality; we know the builder, and bought our permanent residence from them – exceptional workmanship! We loved the location: All other vacation rental properties in Canmore are further out from downtown, whereas this is away from the busy-ness of downtown, but still within walking distance of everything. Our unit is quiet and has a great view and it has underground secure parking, with 2 parking spots. We handpicked this particular unit with all this in mind before they even started digging.... The amenities of the place are unbeatable – the billiard room, an excellent fitness room and a panoramic outdoor jacuzzi. We also really like that the building has Geothermal heating and is built with sustainability in mind. Also, the building has mix of full time residents and vacation properties – they and we value respect and quietness and we may want to live in the apartment ourselves some day.

This condo was spot on! From its location an easy walk to restaurants, stores, and coffee shops, to the amazing views from the windows and deck.
Canmore has much to offer as well, and taking any of the well described hikes or day trips from the owner’s booklet will yield great memories and photo opportunities. The Grassi Lakes hike is a must do!

Dorthe’s condo is beautiful and everything we imagined it would be. She was very helpful giving us ideas about where to go and what to do. She’s a wonderful hostess.
Amazing condo with incredible hospitality!
This was by far the best vacation rental experience we have ever had! If I were being honest, it will be difficult to stay anywhere else in the future. Dorthe is so diligent with her communication. The condo is incredible and the preparation that has gone into making each guest feel welcome and well informed is delightful. The informative binder in the condo is very thoughtful and helpful. The entire condo is well equipped. Besides picking up our own groceries for a few dinners at home there was absolutely nothing additional we needed. The underground, secure parking was an added bonus for us. We felt very comfortable leaving our vehicle in an assigned spot.
Our trip to Alberta was mainly to experience the “tourist” items such as Banff, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, etc., however, we could not have been happier staying in Canmore! Having a “park pass” available for guests to use made our travels to and from the tourist areas even easier. It was nice to leave the hustle and bustle of touring behind at the end of the day and head to one of the local pub’s for dinner and drinks. It felt more like home being in Canmore. The town is easy to get around, we walked almost everywhere. My favorite part of our trip (even after taking in all the beauty of the National Park) was waking up in the morning, grabbing a cup of coffee, and sitting on the balcony to admire the amazing view around the condo. In closing, Dorthe’s hospitality far exceeded our expectations and the condo was better than we could have imagined. We are already planning a return trip and have decided it will be at least a yearly event!
I'm a firm believer in that where you stay can make or break your vacation. This was our first time in Canmore & Banff and this condo made our already great vacation so much better. Based on the previous positive reviews, we decided to book this condo for two couples and our 15 month old daughter. There was a pack and play and portable high chair, which were life savers not having to pack them for a 5 hour flight from Philadelphia. The washing machine was a game changer for the baby, too. There are 2 grocery stores in walking distance so we walked and got groceries to be able to cook breakfasts, lunches, and dinners as needed. The kitchen was well equipped for everything and the dining table was big enough for all of us to eat and play late-night card games. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms are huge, and there's lots of closet space. If there was a smell chest of drawers in the master that would be helpful, but the nightstands worked instead. The view from the deck is breathtaking and the development has many walking paths, all with killer views. There is some construction going on in the development right now, but we never heard anything and it's not in sight of the condo so we didn't mind. The whole complex is walking distance to everything in Canmore, which has lots of restaurants and places to sit outside and have a drink. The baby and I enjoyed early morning strolls into town for coffee and bagels. My husband went for morning runs along the trails and saw some elk. All of Dorothe's recommendations were great as well for local hikes etc. which were all a short drive away and well worth it (Grassi & Sulphur). She even provided bear spray (and we did see a grizzly and black bear!) We had a great time visiting and highly recommend staying here!

Our family of four just returned from a three night stay at Rundle Cliffs, Dorthe was an absolute pleasure to deal with, quick responses and answered all my questions. Their condo is beautiful and fully equipped with everything you need. Comfy beds and big fluffy duvets. We also love the location as we can leave the vehicle behind and walk to town and visit all the great restaurants. We will definitely return!
