About the property

This is not your ordinary vacation rental, but a truly hidden gem. This brand new apartment, built in 2016 as part of a very high-end redevelopment project of the city center, is our main home and residence. We only rent it out to selected guests when we are traveling ourselves, about 16 weeks per year, at various times.

Built by world-famous (Dubaï, Moscow, New-York, Paris and more!) architects Valode and Pistre, this is undoubtedly one of Bordeaux's XXIst century landmarks.

You will enjoy a truly exclusive experience here. Whilst being in an unbeatable totally central location, it is extremely quiet, protected and privileged, overlooking the roofs of the historic city center, listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Not to mention the large terrace, a true privilege in the heart of a European city.

We will also enhance your experience with a complimentary weekly visit by our excellent and professional cleaning lady, so that you can always enjoy a clean and fresh apartment throughout your stay.

Our apartment is 83sqm (890 sqft) and opens on a spacious 35 sqm ( 375sqft) landscaped rooftop terrace, with fabulous views, and automated plants watering for your convenience. It's been decorated according to our wishes and tastes (revisited Mid-Century Modern) by a fabulous team of Interior Designers, who have worked on many residential or hotels projects. Fabrics and furnishings are of the highest quality.

Inside the apartment, you will enjoy a vast 35 sqm (375 sqft) living area, very bright with French windows opening South on the terrace, and side windows facing East and West. You get the sunshine in, morning to evening, and can even see the towers of the nearby Cathedral.

Furnished with high quality furniture by Red Edition, or even custom-made items, the living area is extremely comfortable and relaxing. A large screen TV (Netflix and Apple TV provided), CD and DVD players, vinyl records player are here for your enjoyment. Hardwood oak floors throughout the apartment, of the highest standard.

The designer kitchen area is fully equipped with top of the range appliances (oven, microwave, dishwasher, De Longhi expresso / latte coffee maker, and any cooking appliance one may wish), quartz countertops. It also opens on to the terrace.

In the bedroom, you will find a high-end 5 star-hotel quality bed (My Bed, by Sofitel), designer bed linens and towels, plenty of space for storage of your personal belongings (shelves, clothes hangers) and a work area should you need to complete some business duties!

The bathroom welcomes you with soft and refreshing colors, polished concrete floor, and boasts a very large rain and hand shower, a washer and a dryer.

Wifi throughout, designer lighting by Foscarelli, curtains, blinds and wooden window shutters.

Best of all, the outstanding location of our apartment puts you in the very heart of the action!

About Owner

We work freelance and have been living in Bordeaux for ever. We just love the city and couldn't live anywhere else in France !

Our vacation place is Palm Springs, California, where we made many friends and always get back to with pleasure! We also own a "far from the madding crowd" large 2-bedroom and South facing terrace vacation apartment on the Bassin d'Arcachon, in the pine trees, secluded and peaceful, and 12 minute walk to Plage Pereire, Arcachon's most beautiful beach that we can rent out from time to time.

Why Owner chose Hôtel de Ville - Quinconces

This was an exceptional opportunity to live in the very heart of beautiful Bordeaux, with all the conveniences and entertainment at our doorstep! The apartment is part of a redevelopment project in the heart of the historic part of the city, led by world-famous leading architects Valode and Pistre.

They designed a sleek and chic mix of retail stores topped by a few (80 in total) high-end and energy efficient residences, with 8 of them boasting open sky terraces, among which… ours!

What makes this apartment unique

You can't be in a better location to live in Bordeaux like a local, and make the most of your visit. No time wasted in transportation, everything is at your doorstep.

Hundreds of restaurants to choose from, although you will love cooking "at home", with all the appliances provided, and the groceries store 5 minutes away, not to mention the farmers market on sunday morning, 5 minutes walk away too !

Whether you want to watch an opera or a play, go to the movies, shop till your drop, taste all of the world's cuisines… you'll just walk there in a few minutes.

You can walk, run, cycle all along the rover banks, which you'll reach in just 5 minutes walk to Place de la Bourse and the Miroir d'Eau.

However… it will be hard to resist lounging on the terrace on the many sunny days we get in Bordeaux!

Oh… and should you want to visit Le Bassin d'Arcachon, hop on the tram (3 minutes walk from the apartment), head to the railway station (not even 10 minutes on the tram) and get one of the hourly trains to Arcachon (50 minute-ride). From Arcachon's rail station, 10 minutes walk get you to the seafront via the city centre and its stores and restaurants!

We do not have any reviews as we cannot rent all throughout the year and have just listed on vrbo, but the reviews below will tell you what our guests liked about us, when we rented out our Palm Springs, California, property in 2015 and 2016.

Located in a lushly landscaped, safe, gated community. Fun, Mid-century Condo with walls of glass sliders, bright, very spacious, clean; lovely, fully stocked kitchen with mountain views, master bedroom with extremely comfortable, large, king bed, beautiful linens; fully stocked with towels, linens and toiletries. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The real magic happens at the HUGE, incredibly gorgeous pool surrounded by more than 50 palms . . . swimming in the evening when the breezes pick up . . . heaven! Owners and manager are delightful and very accommodating. I had an amazing month . . . a very special vacation! Merci!

The Opera House ("Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux"), the Apple Store, lots of luxury designers brands stores.
