Casa Lo de Marcos is a beachfront retreat located in the sleepy village of Lo de Marcos, just five miles north of San Pancho and 30 miles north of Puerto Vallarta. The casa is literally on the golden sand as the patio entrance is 50 steps from the ocean. Enjoy the gentle, rolling waves and breathtaking beach. With the exception of Christmas Week and Semana Santa or Holy Week before Easter, the beach is never crowded. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the pool and raised terrace are available for your outdoor living fun and enjoyment.
The two bedroom casa accomodates 4 people comfortably. The suite has a fully-equipped kitchen, livingroom, two beautifully tiled bathrooms, with a queen size bed in each of the bedrooms. Housekeeping is provided.

We have been visiting Mexico since 1974 and have always enjoyed the people, culture and traditions of the country. Patti and I co-founded La Casa de los Niños in 2005, an after school enrichment program, for the children of Lo de Marcos to enjoy free of charge! The project is a registered US Non Profit Charity organization.
David Martinez purchased this bungalow in 2004
We feel fortunate to have our second home in the wonderful Pueblo of Lo de Marcos. The people are friendly and have maintained the Mexican traditions and customs. It is off the beaten tourist track with a wonderful sandy beach.
While in Lo de Marcos we enjoy the slower paced lifestyle, walking on the beach, swimming in the warm ocean waters, and walking into town enjoying balmy evenings. We also enjoy working with the children, staff and volunteers at La Casa de los Niños.
My new husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it truly was magical. The house was beautiful and spacious, right on the beach. Every night we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. We had a blast exploring little Lo De Marcos, chatting with the locals, and snacking at one of the few delicious restaurants in town. We also were able to take a horseback ride along the deserted beach into the jungle, which was super fun. Check in and check out were a breeze and Dave had some fantastic recommendations on what to do and see in the area. Clarita's restaurant was a fab breakfast spot, then we walked next door and bought fresh vegetables and beautifully hand-painted dishes at the farmer's market in town. I think our favorite part was while relaxing on the beach, we found an older gentleman selling delicious homemade orange and banana bread for only a few pesos. This is the type of place you read about in books. If you want to get away from everything, this is the place to stay. With a taxi stand in town, we got around no problem without a rental car. Highly recommend Casa Lo De Marcos!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Lo de Marcos. The house was well equipped, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. We spent many hours reading on the patio and relaxing in the pool. Being located right on the beach was very convenient for a swim in the ocean or a long walk along the shore. We enjoyed watching the fishing boats, pelicans, and locals net-fishing in the surf, and drifted off to sleep every night while listening to the waves. The Casa is only a short walk from the plaza and grocery stores. There are many good restaurants in Lo de Marcos. The palapa restaurant just up the beach was our favorite as it was very close by and served delicious seafood meals. We look forward to staying at Casa Lo de Marcos on our next visit.
We just spent a totally relaxing week at Casa Lo de Marcos. We opted to forego the usual car rental and took a Compostella bus from the airport. Cross over the highway on the pedestrian bridge from the airport and there's a busy bus stop. Just make sure you get on a bus with Lo de Marcos scrawled on the windshield and pay the driver. One hour later you arrive at the LDM plaza. Essentially all of the town's stores are on or within a block or two of the plaza. It's about a four block walk to the Casa.
Dave (of Dave and Patti fame in this town) was staying in the their upstairs floor suite during our trip. He was very low profile but friendly and helpful in just the right way. We invited him down to chat by the pool every now and then, and that was a real plus getting to know him, the town and the learning center that he and Patti set up and run for the kids of LDM. Without him we likely would have missed the Saturday night taco crawl, the Sunday night dinner at Luna with gypsy guitarists (he made the reservations for us), and not known about some of the other great and different shops, restaurants and people in town and on the beach.
The casa is right on the beach with pounding surf just as advertised. We completely agree with the descriptions and reviews of those who have posted before us. Casa Lo de Marcos is a wonderful place and has a perfect location both on the beach and its proximity to the center of town. Good beds and pillows, lots of comfy chairs and couches, pool chairs, tables and lounges. An FYI: the second of the two advertised bathrooms is actually just outside the beachfront bedroom next to the pool deck area. It's tucked in under a stairway but not quite private from the folks out on the beach.
Lo de Marcos itself is an authentic and unspoiled Mexican town. Gringos have not really discovered the place. The entire mile long beach was essentially empty save for walkers and the occasional horseback riders. Almost no and infrequent beach vendors. The south end of the beach has good enough surfing and boogie boarding but this town and this beach are more about relaxing rather than high energy, adventure recreating. That is perhaps more available and appropriate in the Sayulita area, 15 miles south.
Will we be back? Si.
My week at Casa Lo de Marcos was full of sheer pleasure and relaxation thanks to the wonderful lodging and location experience. The house is spotless, has an open floorplan and the outside patio is where I read for hours and enjoyed my coffee each morning. Seeing and hearing the ocean from the patio sure made me delighted I was located there. You will enjoy the palapa restaurant directly out the gate to the beach. You can eat good Mexican meals there with your toes wiggling in the sand! Loved that convenience very much. A return visit is a must for me in 2013. The owners, Dave and Patti, will make you feel welcome and at home. They are truly angels that walk this earth. The main plaza in town is especially fun to hang out in and see the various generations of locals hanging out enjoying their families.
Our family of 4 stayed here for 9 days recently and loved every single minute. The casa is so warm and inviting, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. We had a few dinner parties with up to 14 people and it didn't feel crowded at all - we ate outside with a couple tables put together no problem. The casa was very clean and on the cleaning days, Clara made us little towel animals. The location right on the beach was amazing - we would put our chairs out and lay on the beautiful, unspoiled beach as well as watching the sunset. Patti & Dave are remarkable people with what they are doing for the town of Lo De Marcos! They truly are an inspiration. The town itself is a very basic mexican town with alot of charm. The booking process was made very easy. Looking so forward to our next visit to this magical casa.
We stayed for two weeks at Casa Lo de Marcos with our two sons aged 6 & 8. Dave & Patti were warm and welcoming. The beach and estuary were beautiful and the bulk of our holiday was spent beachcombing and playing in the waves. It felt very safe. I felt so pampered having Clara clean for us twice a week! Loved the coconut shrimp and wonderful fish at the palapa restaurant a few yards up the beach. Best of all were the people: the locals, Dave & Patti and the new friends and their children that we met.
The casa is located on a great uncrowded swimmable beach with boogie boarding and surfing on the south end and an estero on the North end great for bird watching!
