About Christy Stutzman
We are a farming family and this is our homestead farm. Marlin has served in several elected positions over the years while continuing to farm this property with our two sons and it has been a place of solace and peace for our family. We named it Schönbrook, because of our mutual Swiss/German heritage (prevalent in this community), and the name in German means "Pretty Brook or River." Schönbrook is our escape and our happy place - always!
Christy Stutzman purchased this House in 2013
Why Christy Stutzman chose Howe
We love old farm houses and had always admired this farm with it's stately 1885 brick Victorian-style house in our hometown. We loved the rolling hills of the back fields leading down to the river as well as the century old barn that had been so well preserved and decided it would be the perfect place to raise our two sons. We purchased the farm and went about restoring it with much attention to detail and to the original style of the interior. We added touches of French-farmhouse throughout (an homage to one of our favorite historical characters (the Marquis de Lafayette) as well as to our county which was named after his estate (LaGrange). We also added tributes to Teddy Roosevelt (the Roosevelt room is very rustic with hunting decor), our Pioneer ancestors (the Pioneer Hall) who settled in this area while it was still a territory, and to our ultimate hero, George Washington in the Washington Dinining Room which seats 16 at the large French-country style table. We poured ourselves into making Schönbrook Farm & Inn unique, stately and as comfy as possible. It has been a labor or love and we are thrilled to share it with guests as we are able to make it available throughout the year.

Beautiful home and setting! It was a great place to have our college reunion. Communicating with the property manager before and during our stay was always timely and helpful.
Located just a few miles from Amish country was wonderful.
Can’t go wrong with this property!
Beautiful and comfortable. Great for our group and your's too.
This spectacular home still has a few rough edges but none that will detract from your comfort and enjoyment. Owners very helpful and responsive. A very special place that we felt privileged to be welcomed into. Great value!
The home and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We had a sisters weekend that was wonderful thanks to the beautiful, relaxing surroundings and the House Manager who was a huge help with her knowledge of the house and the area!
Amazing and Beautiful Country Home
This home is full of good energy! We enjoyed hosting a family dinner and the kids loved watching the animals. We live in Carmel, Indiana so it was a peaceful escape from the city hustle and bustle! Would stay again! Thank you!
Great gal's getaway!
Really enjoyed it!
What a beautiful and impressive house!
We enjoyed the home and property with our children and grandchildren. I grew up on a farm so it was like a homecoming for me. Our grandchildren enjoyed the animals and the long walks on the property. There is a lot of history in this unique place. We are looking forward to coming back soon for another visit!
