What makes this House unique
We love to cruise the river and this part of the river has the best sunsets and views of the freighters passing! Set off the road, on the rivers edge, the view is up and down the federal waterway! it is like a private retreat!!

Nice waterfront home. Very comfortable. Definitely will be back!
Such a memorable weekend. First time in Bay City and we loved it! Really enjoyed the house. Clean, comfortable and homey.
Thanks for the great review. Glad you like the place as much as we do. Hope to see you back next summer.
We were attending a conference. It was so much better than renting 3 hotel rooms! we are looking into renting a house at every conference. Many colleagues were jealous.
Very homey, welcoming and comfortable.
We would recommend as a nice family vacation.
A Great Spot for a Getaway
My husband and I took our two kids and their friends up to Bay City for a little break. The house slept all 6 of us quite nicely and could have added a few more too. Within 15 minutes of being there a freighted passed by and blew its horn at us. We were close enough to wave to the crew! The sunsets are beautiful and the kids spent hours upon hours fishing. We enjoyed sitting on the fishing dock and watching the boats go by and the planes fly around (very close to Bay City airport). If you are looking for a quiet spot to reside this may not be for you as there is always some ambient noise either from the planes or the nearby road. Although not quiet, it was extremely peaceful and we would go back again.
Thanks for the review! The sunsets are spectacular. Besides all the boats and small planes passing by it has won our hearts. The wildlife on the edges of the river and fish jumping add a pleasant touch. Thanks for taking time to fill this out.
Amazing sunsets, likely best patio view in a VRBO in a 20 mile radius.
It is a hidden treasure of a location as it is just a few miles off of I-75, last exit right before the Zilwaukee Bridge when heading north. Grew up in Flint and live in Dallas now and wanted to get a nice little getaway place to take my parents who are in their 80's that are in the Flint area and this was less than 30 min from their home and yet has the feel of an "up north" getaway. It is a short drive from a great State Park beach and Bay City has a lot of fine dining and out door concerts that are ridiculously reasonable.
The cottage looks across the widest section of the river in the area, so you almost feel like you are on a lake, and straight across is an amazing view of state CORE land, dense woods, as far as you can see both ways. They have a beautiful backyard and yachts regularly pass by heading to the Saginaw Bay which is a few miles away.
The cottage is very modest and should not be oversold. It is a basic manufactured house but my parents just fell in love with the place and I will send them back. It was very clean and had very comfortable lounge chairs and sofa in the family room with a large TV with all the channels. It comfortably held my parents, my wife and I, and my two daughters that flew in from TN and are in their 20's. We spent so much of our time not just on the back patio but they have a massive wooden platform deck that you can move the lawn chairs out to that is right on this amazing river. It was truly one of the best locations I have ever been to in MI with a VRBO and especially at the very reasonable price range.
It is air conditioned by window unit air conditioners with a unit in the main family room and one in the master bedroom. I would encourage the very nice owners to invest in AC window units in the other 2 bedrooms. Until they do that, just make sure you leave the other two bedroom doors open at night and all is fine. If you do not do that, the floor fans are not enough on a hot summer night but once we figured out to just leave the doors half open, all was fine.
They provide two grills that run off propane which they provide and have a very good outdoor table that seats 8 just as they have in the house and it is great for cooking out with the nice boats passing by and the sunsets. You will not have any regrets about this place and will refer friends to it as I have. To the owners, I would say that the wallpaper is coming off in the hall bathroom and I did not care. It was PERFECT!
Great, secluded get away!
Great secluded spot just a couple miles from downtown Bay City. From the back deck you will only see the river, a passing boat and the woods on the far shore; not a single house can be seen. Big yard for the kids.
Downtown Bay City is minutes away!! Weekly entertainment and outdoor concert stage during the week. Weekends are packed with activities to Art Festival, Tall Ships Celebration, Fireworks Festival, River Roar Boat Races. A full calendar is available online and on site.
