Nestled between tall evergreens and situated against the Swan Mountain Range, sits this lovely craftsman style guesthouse, we call our “tree house.”
Guests will enjoy this magnificent peaceful space amongst the tree tops, as a romantic get-away or a small family retreat destination.
With enough room to accommodate up to two couples and three to four children, guests will find a comfy queen size bed, thick queen size futon, a cozy loft for children to play, read or sleep, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a therapeutic steam shower, washer and dryer, and a large deck to enjoy outside dining with incredible panoramic views of the mountains and its wildlife residents. Wireless Internet service and online streamed Netflix movies are also available to guests.
Just outside the door, guests will find immediate access to mountain trails and nearby access to rafting put-ins along the Swan River. Guests are also invited to share the beautiful surrounding grounds, a lovely waterfall studded pond, tree swing, hammock, and private mountain bike trails.
We also encourage our guests to visit with our goats, chickens, and special livestock guardian dogs (just beware of the electric fence), see our four-season greenhouse, and sample our fresh eggs and any of the organic fruits and veggies grown on our property.
This property is incredibly special and uniquely showcases the majestic qualities of each season. On any day one can spot a variety of wildlife traversing the land, sightings could include deer, elk, moose, foxes, bobcat, raccoon, squirrels, bald eagles, ducks, geese, hawks, herons, owls and many other birds, most notably the wild swan. White Tail Deer tend to be the most common but are the most lovely and peaceful sighting. Occasionally, bear, wolf, and mountain lion are seen but our big guardian dogs keep these larger predators off our property.
We invite people to retreat from their every day lives into the wilderness and forested sanctuary we have created at the edge of the Swan Mountain Range. We encourage our guests to unplug from their urban lives so that they might reconnect with their best selves, their loved ones and their source of inspiration. Our natural sanctuary is ideal for reflection and introspection and to reset intentions for answering your soul’s calling. We're especially interested in providing a peaceful and inspirational space for those pursuing creative projects and a desire to connect with the natural world.
Originally from Southern California, we moved to this 20 acre property to create a quiet self sufficient and sustainable life for our small family. We are raising goats, chickens, livestock guardian dogs, and organic fruits and veggies.

We fell in love with this beautiful private property, the wilderness setting, and its unique craftsman style structures, and you will too!
What a wonderful place. Stunning natural surroundings, and friendly and helpful hosts.
Our family of three spent 5 nights at the Treehouse recently - and never wanted to leave! During the days, we explored Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake (and even went to the rodeo in Kalispell), and in the evenings we relaxed on the deck or watched a video in the Treehouse. One night we walked out on the fire road behind the house to watch the sunset turn the sky pink and orange; then watched bats swooping over the pond in the twilight while our daughter swung on the huge swing. And every morning, we ate delicious eggs from Lisa's own hens!
The area is full of fun and interesting things to do - we hiked, kayaked, picnicked, swam, and paddleboarded; saw elk, deer, bison, and antelope at the Bison Range; took a boat tour, and even stepped over into Canada. We had delicious meals in Big Fork and sampled buffalo jerky, local beers, Flathead cherries, and huckleberry taffy.
A couple of practical things to bring:
* shoes such as tevas, keens, or watershoes that you can wear in the many streams and lakes
* earplugs, if the barking of the livestock dogs and the crowing of the rooster might keep you awake (we slept great)
No need to bring:
* bear spray (there's one at the Treehouse to borrow)
* linens, including swim towels
The house is comfortable, clean, and private, with a beautiful view of the Swan Range mountains. And best of all, Lisa's family is warm and friendly, ready with local tips and wisdom.
Over the top impressed! The accommodations were clean, cozy, romantic and just what we needed. I can't imagine why anyone would not want to stay here.
Nestled in the woods at the base of the Swans the Treehouse surroundings were very peaceful and quiet. The location was perfect; a nice launching spot for all of the hiking and play time we were after. The deck made for a restful dinner spot after a long day of adventures and there was plenty of room for us to enjoy a few dinners with our guests. The owner's really know how to lay the foundation for a great experience and we will definitely stay here again. What are you waiting for?
Our stay at the tree house was exceptional! The kindness and hospitality displayed by the owners was very appreciated. We notified Lisa that we were going to be arriving much later than anticipated and she went out of her way to make up the futon and turn on outside lights to assist us. We arrived in the middle of the night and had the treat of waking up and seeing the gorgeous Montana view the next morning, and we enjoyed their complimentary fresh eggs for breakfast. The tree house was a very comfortable home away from home after busy days of kayaking on Swan River and hiking and sightseeing at Glacier National Park. Thank you for sharing your lovely home; we look forward to returning one day!
We were 4 adults and 1 child staying at this property. It was perfect. It was secluded, but not far from shopping in Big Fork. The way the tree house was built and decorated was absolutely breathtaking, capturing all the amazing views. We especially enjoyed the open living, fabulous composite deck for evening meals and morning coffee, and the incredible rainwater/steam shower. Everything was a delight! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Oh, and the fresh dozen eggs upon arrival were scrumptious! What an incredible bonus that was for morning breakfasts.
We stayed at the treehouse with our two young children. We were pleasantly surprised to find toys supplied for both of our children, and accessories for our baby such as a changing pad. It was in a perfect location to escape the town and enjoy the scenery, yet close to a variety of activities. We explored Big Mountain in Whitefish and spent a day in Glacier. The treehouse is absolutely beautiful inside, very clean and the owners think of everything you may need. We were a little bummed that we did not get to experience any farm fresh eggs, but still had a very enjoyable trip. We highly recommend this place for any family vacations, and even romantic getaways.
The "O" family from Idaho
My family loved staying at the treehouse. Lisa and her family were extremely friendly, generous, and welcoming hosts. Lisa was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had and we enjoyed getting to know her. The furnishings and amenities are very nice, comfortable, and functional--we especially loved the lovely steam shower and comfy bed. The treehouse is surrounded by an idyllic setting with views of the Swan mountains and wilderness. My two year old son loved all the animals, feeding the fish in the pond, and exploring the property. We had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it!
Our property borders Flathead National Forest with immediate access to mountain trails on which guests will enjoy hiking, horseback riding, dirt biking, or cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
