This condo has a fantastic location to Aspen Mountain and downtown Aspen. You can ski directly onto Aspen Mountain from the condo. Or, if you prefer, the Aspen Mountain gondola is a short walk (1.5 blocks) from the condo. If you prefer to ski at Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk or Snowmass you are only 2 blocks from the free skier shuttle.
In addition to its excellent proximity to Aspen Mountain, this condo, with its floor to ceiling glass windows, has unrivaled views of Aspen Mountain, Red Mountain as well as downtown Aspen. Conveniently centered in the heart of Aspen you are never more than a few blocks from world class shops, hotels and restaurants.
The Durant condominium complex recently completed a $12 million exterior renovation (completed in June, 2015). In addition, the interior of this particular condo (B-301) was recently renovated (November, 2015) using luxury finishes, that include quartz counter tops, all new appliances, updated bedrooms, all new furnishings, 4 flat screen TVs, a wood-burning fireplace, skylights throughout, a washer/dryer in the unit, and free wireless high-speed internet.
The master bedroom includes a king size bed, an in-suite bath with a walk-in shower, and a heated bathroom floor. One of the guest bedrooms includes a queen-size bed while the other guest bedroom has two twins that can be combined into a king if preferred. Both bedrooms share a hall access bathroom that also has heated floors.
All beds in the condo have new mattresses, layered in sumptuous linens, followed by pillows and duvets/down comforters; a wonderful and luxurious way to drift to sleep after a day in the mountains.
The condo also includes an outdoor ski locker near the front door. Flexible cleaning service is available (daily - weekly). The condo also comes with a permit for on-site (uncovered) parking.
Complex amenities at the Durant Condominiums include a heated pool and two hot tubs; an outdoor grill; common area laundry; on-site free parking and free wireless high speed internet.
I had been a visitor to Aspen, both winter and summer, for over 20 years prior to purchasing this condo. My family and I use the condo for our personal use frequently and treat it as our home - not just a rental unit.

Prior to purchasing this particular property, we looked at many other condos and homes both in the town of Aspen as well as in the surrounding communities. This particular property met all of our most important criteria - location, convenience, view. Because of its location, we never rent a car when we visit. The airport is only about 5 miles (10 min by taxi) away and everything is within walking distance (skiing, restaurants, shops, grocery store, pharmacy, free Aspen shuttle bus, etc).
Secondly, the views from this property are awesome! The entire west wall of our condo is floor to ceiling glass that provides an outstanding view of Aspen Mountain, the town of Aspen, and Red Mountain to the north.
Finally, the convenience of skiing directly onto the mountain is a huge bonus.
The two big benefits of our condo are being able to ski onto the mountain directly from the condo and being able to easily walk to all of Aspen's shops and restaurants.
Unless you want to spend time exploring the area outside the town of Aspen, it is not necessary to have a rental car.
The condo is beautiful. It was in the perfect location for us and couldn't have been happier with the accommodation. We want to book it again for the same time next year.
My family of 5 enjoyed this beautiful, comfortable and wonderful getaway condo in Aspen. The finishes and feel of the property were so inviting and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable and cozy and the view from the kitchen and family area was wonderful. We roasted marshmallows in the wood burning fireplace and enjoyed the comforts of home with a perfect location to enjoy all that Aspen has to offer. We brought food in and the kitchen offered a wonderful place to cook up some good dishes. This condo even had a washer and dryer if needed. The only suggestion I could offer is that we would have appreciated some condiments, like olive oil and seasonings, glass baking dishes and pot holders. It was really perfect and we had no problems or complaints at all. It was a really great experience that we would most definitely do again.
Great property in a great location. Walk to everything. Amazing views of town and the mountains through a wall of windows. Very nice furniture, big screen TVs in every room, very comfortable beds and nice pillows. Bathrooms and showers were top notch. The unit definitely has a cool factor. Only slight negatives are the stairs to the top floor unit and a small refrigerator. But don't let that deter you, this is a great place!
This condo was in a convenient location and was well appointed. Bedrooms are spacious, living room and kitchen area is cozy. Lovely view.
We (3 couples) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. It's an incredible location at the base of the mountain, and has amazing views. The mornings were stunning as the sun flooded the mountains/town with light. We had a car but didn't need it--we could easily walk everywhere. The condo is beautifully remodeled and cleverly designed to maximize space. The beds are wonderfully comfortable. The one potential drawback is this is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, so you have to be able to handle 3 flights of outside stairs. Also, although the kitchen is well stocked with appliances/cookware, if you want to cook you need to bring your own spices, cooking spray, etc. (minor point). The owner was pleasant to work with and accomodating. There is a property manager onsite if you need anything, but we never had to contact her. Overall, a wonderful experience--we'll be back!!
