|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
From the beautiful stone patio with its bubbling waterfall, firepit and 8-person hot tub, to sweeping views of the Columbia Gorge, to the luxuriously-appointed beds, every one of your senses will be pampered. Casual yet sophisticated, this home's four bedrooms and 3 baths make it a great choice for a family, multiple couples or corporate groups.
The king-size bed in the King Bedroom faces a large window with a view across the Gorge, while the Skylight Queen Bedroom has its own full bath. The Little Queen Bedroom shares a 3/4 bath with the King. Two sofabeds (queen and twin), a daybed and a twin-over-full bunk round out the sleeping accommodations.
A very well-appointed kitchen with full-size, stainless appliances makes meal prep a breeze. In the nearby town of Stevenson you'll find fresh, local produce, meats, a wide array of superb Washington wines and local brews, and just-caught, cut to order fish to bring back for the grill!
But if you'd rather not cook, there are great local restaurants a short drive away. Stevenson is tiny, but packed with shops and services to meet nearly any need, and you'll find a bookstore, a wine bar and a terrific brew pub (Walking Man) that's definitely worth a stop. Regardless, you'll want to hurry back for a toast to the day as the Gorge turns crimson in the sunset.
The location provides easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and more, yet the setting itself is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Surrounded by national and state parks, wildlife reserves and the magnificent Columbia River, with its world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding, you'll still be less than twenty minutes from charming Stevenson, and about 12 minutes from the iconic Bridge of the Gods.
You will find all sorts of up-to-date guide books and hiking maps, but you'll be tempted to stay put in the great room, with its stone fireplace, a 52-inch plasma TV with satellite cable and streaming Blu-ray, thanks to the reliable, high-speed internet. You'll also find a cool little internet radio in the sun room, near the telescope and ping-pong table. iPhone and Android docks will keep all your gadgets charged, too.
Babies and children welcome! You'll find a crib, booster seats, Pack-n-Play and age-appropriate toys and games.

Very relaxing and private. Dated, but super spacious home. The home worked perfectly for our stay.
Our extended family stayed at this house for three nights, six adults and three kids in total. We found the house to be charming, well-equipped and comfortable for all of us. The kitchen was well stoked with appliances, cooking utensils, and even spices. There were plenty of towels to go around, and well stocked bathrooms (we didn't take that for granted), and the instructions on how to operate everything were very clear. Our three year old son especially enjoyed the train tracks, and the older girls liked the ping pong table and exploring the big house. We all enjoyed the jacuzzi outside, located against the backdrop of the beautiful Columbia Gorge. Highly recommended!
This was our 4th time staying at this property because we love the location & amenities. It is located near many hiking trails of every level, Bridge of the Gods & Stevenson. It is easy to find & the property is large so you can spread out without any neighbors close by or hear the drone of traffic noise (though you can hear the train horn). The fire pit was great at night as was the hot tub after a long day of hiking & sightseeing. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc., as well as lots of towels, linens & blankets. It's an older house, but well maintained with room for all. We made very good use of the ping pong table as well. Lots of wildlife on the property (bunnies, deer, hummingbirds & a rare sighting of a squirrel). The house had a starter stock of dish soap & pad, shampoo/conditioner, body soap & toilet paper, but you will need to bring your own laundry detergent.
This was our second stay at the Cascade Retreat in the Gorge, using it as a base camp for day hikes around the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back for a third trip.
A beautiful view of the river cliff face and trees, it really is just like the photo! A very roomy house and very comfortable, great for the extended family getting together and just enjoying each others' company and nature for a few days.
