About chris pallett

Extensively published, award winning design projects, and top sales producer with my longtime employer. Originally from Ottawa, moved to Vancouver 17 years ago. Extensive experience in buying, renovating, and selling homes. When I retired from retail a year ago, I became busier than ever, mostly helping clients build new homes, or renovate. I travel back and forth from my home in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver, with most of my design work in the Vancouver area. I am on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, and serve as the ReStore Director.

Why chris pallett chose Central and Downtown Vancouver

I chose this suite because of the great layout with no wasted space. Had a list of 'must haves', and this suite ticked most of those boxes. Came in with the idea of doing a total renovation, which took 7 months, top to bottom. Love the building amenities, and the proximity to everything I need.

What makes this condo unique

Turnkey, with plenty of left- in -place items to make it easy to feel right at home here. Quality linens, lots of kitchen tools for cooking, good CD/DVD library. Sunny days are perfectly spent on the balcony, or just take in the city with your morning tea or coffee. Toasty warm bathroom floor, and rainshowerhead. Books to read, and much information on what to do in Vancouver and area.

Hands down, the best host there is!

  • 5 of 5

You've read all the reviews about how special this property is, how beautifully designed, how well thought out, how well-stocked and well-equipped, how perfectly located it is and how terrific a city Vancouver really is. All of that is true, and then some...

...so I want to talk about our host, Chris. Our stay wasn't a perfect one, and THAT is why this is a 5 star review! We arrived for 8 days and nights of gorgeous weather. Well, unseasonably hot weather, to be exact. So hot that the suite was very, very warm the first night. Chris immediately went out and purchased a second A/C unit for the bedroom so we could sleep in comfort, and we did after that. This hot sun was not Chris's fault, and Canada is not the south where Central A/C is common, yet he did everything he could for us in an uncomfortable situation, and we cannot say enough about this, especially as my wife is not in good health and is easily affected by such things. Do NOT let my mention of the suite being warm dissuade you from staying here. It was a bit loud because of two A/Cs and a fan running constantly, but this heatwave was an anomaly for Vancouver, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, we would stay nowhere else in this glorious city, and that is because of our always helpful, completely understanding host! THANK YOU CHRIS. You, sir, are a class act.

Owner's Response: Thanks Eric and Paula for such an honest review of my property. It is not always easy to predict weather at any time during the year, and Vancouver is now having warmer mid summer days than ever before, but as weather so quickly changes here, the week after you left, was back to normal, and the following guest never used the A/C at all. I knew that in order for both of you to be as comfortable as possible, that that extra A/C unit would be helpful. Much thanks for being so frank in your review, and, yes.... I really do take my guests' comfort as being foremost in my dealings with them...the old adage...do unto others as you would have them do onto you!!!

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous, clean, modern, comfortable apartment with all you need. easy to walk to most places and close to Sky Train. Restaurants, Bars, Shops close by. Lovely hospitality from Chris. We used the communal outdoor lounging area which is an asset in the warm weather and spent relaxing evenings on the private balcony. I would definitely rent this apartment again!

Come back again, anytime...nice guests who leave the suite tidy and enjoy themselves are the reason why I do what I do.

Great Location, Designer Furnishings, Superb Host

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week in Vancouver during the FIFA World Cup and were walking distance to BC Place. We were amazed at the vast choices of restaurants, shopping and sightseeing close by. Jump on the train from the airport and in less than 30 minutes you are a 3 block walk to this lovely property. Rented bikes close by and rode them thru Stanley Park, along the seawall to Olympic Village, Granville Island, and out to UBC. Chris' place has windows that open and the lovely breeze was delightful. Enough can't be said about how Chris has decorated the interior. So many things to mention in that regard I could go on and on. And the best part of it all is Chris. One of the nicest people you will ever meet. Going to Vancouver again and only staying here.

Owner's Response: Such a nice review, thank you. I do know that the single most important part of a furnished rental is "everything", not just one singular item that is good. The location is superb for easy access to convention centre activities, as well as sightseeing and shopping. I do strive to make each and every visit to my suite a memorable one for my guests. Please keep in mind that return guests are always welcomed.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. The A/ unit filter was clogged, which I only found out after you had left this comment. This has been fixed. The A/C is a 10,000 BTU unit, and I have now coupled it with another A/C unit of 6,000 BTU to ensure that the suite stays in the cooler range during the summer heat.

A great stay & a wonderful host

  • 5 of 5

I emailed Chris about my mum & brother staying at his condo for their visit in Vancouver. Not was he only prompt but he went out of his way to ensure they have a great stay. Since their wonderful holiday (all the way from Sydney Australia) they've only raved about the great location & the great condo they had in Vancouver. Could not thank you enough Chris & hope I get to visit it first hand next time.

Beautiful Condo, Great location and friendly, curteous and responsive owner

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently spent two weeks at this gorgeous, clean, and well appointed suite. The building is very secure as is the neighbourhood it is in. For one of the weeks we were joined by our 20 something son, who also loved it. The location is excellent as it is close to everything one may want to do, either by walking or by public transit. We rented a car for one week and Chris made his parking spot in the secured underground garage available to us; can't tell you how convenient this was for our day trips, as you really feel like you are coming back to your home. If you are impressed with the pictures then be assured that the unit IS as you see it; stylish, clean, comfortable and with all that you need. Chris is a phone call away if you need anything. We didn't, so he checked in with us to make sure that everything was going well. He was easy to deal with throughout the whole process, from booking to departure. Thank you Chris! We look forward to meeting up again.

Owner's Response: Thanks Vince, I am glad that you and Louisa enjoyed my home, and your stay in Vancouver. Yes, the suite is certainly well located, and with the new construction almost finished at the Bengal 5 building across the street, and new group of wonderful, high end stores will be locating to this two block mini Rodeo Drive. I was also pleased that you were able to connect with your son, and have him join you. The sofa has always been a good sleeping spot for that extra guest, and I always make sure there are plenty of new linens available to make up that extra sleeping spot. Again, thanks for leaving the suite so spotless when you departed, and feel free to call me when you decide to return to Vancouver. Caio.

Voted one of the most liveable cities in the world. This is a very centrally located suite, with Alberni Street called a mini Rodeo Drive at your doorstep. DeBeers Diamonds, Tori Burch and Prada all located in the building. Seven great restaurants within the block, and 35 in the blocks around. Right across the street from Urban Fare grocery store.
