We are a family of four: Matt, Fran, Devon and Dillon. We love the beach, and we love to travel! Matt works in IT, is British & recently became an American citizen and loves to surf. Fran grew up in New Jersey, recently retired from corporate life and enjoys running. Devon and Dillon were both born in the Bay Area, but named after a couple of our favorite places in the UK and the US.
Fran Hardcastle purchased this house in 2009
But we love it for its natural beauty, diversity, culture and innovation. Only in Pacifica can you enjoy the ocean waves and surf or whale watch, hit some wicked mountain biking trails and get to SFO and one of the world's most beloved cities in 20 minutes!
We love this neighborhood and were specifically looking here for a home due to its proximity and walkability to the beach. We fell in love with the house for its openness, with its 16' ceilings and circular and flowing floor plan. We can see whales from the front balcony and kitchen window! Also, the house sits uniquely at the bottom of Cattle Hill, part of Sweeney Ridge Golden Gate National Park, so there is nothing behind the house except the Hill. From our viewing platform and various locations within the house, you can see and hear the ocean waves.
We only stayed for 3 nights as we were driving down the California coast with our friends from out of the country. My wife and I, our 2 kids (teenagers) and friends (also a family of four) had a wonderful time in this spacious and well kept house in Pacifica. The house had everything we needed and is conveniently located very close to San Francisco, the beach, and other attractions in the area. The owners were responsive, hospitable and provided a great information packet about the house, fun things to do in the area, restaurants, and other area recommendations. We would love come back to this lovely home!
This house was a wonderful meeting place for our family for Thanksgiving. The house, itself, is great. The owner was easy with which to work and the house was lovely and very "homy". It has a great view of the Pacific. The location simply cannot be beat. It is walking distance to the ocean, restaurants, bars, and shops. It is a quick drive north to San Francisco, but, also a nice drive South to Carmel, Monterrery, etc. We will stay here again I am sure. We highly recommend it.
The owner is super nice and reasonable; She accommodate all our requests. The stay feels like home and we all had great time. I will definitely do it again if I go back to Pacifica.
This house is the perfect location for a Pacifica getaway. Every morning we would start our day with a walk to the small beach down the street. It is a short drive to other locations like San Fran and Half Moon Bay. The house is very nice and feels like your own home. Fran the owner was very easy to work with and left lots of details on what to do in the area. This has to be one of our family's best vacations!
We were delighted with our stay at this home. The house was very comfortable for a family of 2 adults and 3 children. It is very conveniently located off PCH with easy access to SF as well as other California attractions. We could easily get on PCH for a scenic drive to Half Moon Bay, Monterey, Carmel... It offers a view to see the Pacific ocean right from the house and a few minutes walk to the beach makes it fun to enjoy the beach every day. There is also an observation deck behind the house at a higher elevation which gives a fantastic view of the ocean and we were lucky to observe dolphins and a whale in the waters on some days and obviously this depends on the time of the year and weather conditions. The owner is very responsive and takes great effort in making sure your stay is comfortable. We look forward to staying here for our future visits ~ highly recommended!
We were very pleased with our stay. We had six adults and two children under two. The three bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and worked well for our needs. The house was large and well maintained. We enjoyed the large dining table as we could all gather around the table for meals. The location is great for access to San Francisco. A short drive to Golden Gate park and the zoo. It is also a short walk to the beach. It was a very enjoyable week for our family.
My family stayed here for Our Christmas and the pictures do not do it justice. There were 5 adults and one child and we were all very comfortable. Wonderful place to stay!
