Very nice place nice property home was as described. Nice place to stay near Gettysburg but not in the noise of the town, great for Star watching..
This is the third year in a row that I have brought a group of men out to Gettysburg for a men's retreat. We have loved staying here each time. The old house lends itself perfectly to the historical significance of the area. The landscape behind the property is beautiful, and the fire pit out back has facilitated hours upon hours of meaningful discussion for men trying to become better leaders, husbands, fathers, and sons. Anna is accommodating and awesome to deal with. I will never book another place to stay in Gettysburg for as long as I do these men's trips, and plan to one day bring my own family out to stay here.
Papa and I went with our daughter, son in law and 3 grandsons aged 6-11. Pots, kettles and frypans in the kitchen were a bit lacking for meal preps. The stairs are steep and narrow to the 2nd floor bathroom and bedrooms, which is TOTALLY in character for a home of this vintage. This might however pose a problem for people with small children or disability. We totally enjoyed the acreage to hike, fish, campfire, play games on. . We were there for the Civil War re -enactment and after hours of sitting in bleachers, it gave the boys ample space to burn off energy. Last year we stayed in a lovely higher end chain hotel ....this was a similar value with the benefit of doing some of our own meals, and provided relatively quiet, convenient to Gettysburg, off the beaten path, private setting. My son in law locked himself out of the house inadvertently...the owners were very accommodating getting him back in. Any questions we text or emailed to them were answered immediately as was the lockout phone call! We would all definitely stay here again.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this wonderful property. The 1st time in warm weather. We so enjoyed the pond, fire pit, and open space! The house is adorable and very comfortable. Anna was so accommodating when we forgot to bring towels. We have many great memories from out time there!!
What a warm and lovely home. The character of it just welcomed you in. Our family enjoyed the large table for our dinners and game night. The beds were so comfortable. The pictures of line does not do justice to the beauty of the home. The rooms are large. We loved the two staircases. The fire pit was a nice way of ending our evenings.
Thank you Anna for sharing your home with our family. This home is a true catch for "feeling the experience of Gettysburg".
We got together with 2 other couples to tour the battlefields and your home added to the memorable experience. The house and property were very authentic and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed sitting in the front parlor at the end of a great day on the battlefields. Thank you for your hospitality and we would recommend your home to anyone who wants to truly enjoy the Gettysburg experience.
