What makes this house unique

We chose our home for several reasons, the shear breathtaking view being one of the main contributors.

Sitting on the rim above the river, we love to have our morning coffee sitting in the Living Room alcove and watch the wildlife and the fluid view of the Teton peaks as it changes throughout the day.

The natural materials in the cabin truly bring the feel of the mountains indoors and create such a relaxing comfortable, luxurious atmosphere. It really allows us to leave behind the 'hustle and bustle' of our everyday lives while we are there and decompress.

Spectacular

  • 5 of 5

WOW..... what do I say first.. The house is incredibly comfortable to live in, well laid out, well supplied and everything is well maintained. Or .... The view of the Tetons is breathtaking, the view of the valley, the farmlands, the Teton River, and the wildlife made this a family trip we will not soon forget... We had 14 family members and the house was not crowded at all. large bedrooms and bathrooms, all well supplied and maintained. Great job by Doug Gemmel for keeping this property in such beautiful condition. Our family came to Tetonia to view the Eclipse which was spectacular. The large outside deck was a perfect place for the entire family to watch the eclipse. Many thanks..

A little bit of heaven

  • 5 of 5

Due to our late start planning this trip, we were dismayed with the few properties available that would accommodate our group. We settled on River Rim #2, understanding that it meant a long-ish drive (an hour +) to see the sights - Yellowstone, GTNP, Teton Village, etc. Turns out to have been a blessing in disguise, because the "cabin" and surrounding views were more than worth it! The house itself - more like a lodge - fit our needs perfectly, was furnished beautifully, had all the "stuff" you need except the groceries. In the main house, the expansive living room with wood paneling, high ceilings, plus floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the Teton River and Valley was truly amazing. The open floorplan (kitchen, dining area, and living area) allow enjoying this view from all areas on the main floor. The master bedroom and bath are first class, and downstairs the bedrooms #2, 3, and the bunkroom are roomy and nice. The very nice, large deck allowed us to enjoy the views, cooking on the grill, and dining on the deck picnic table...and later on some excellent star gazing! The separate apartment over the garage was an added treat, especially since it is accessible from inside the main house.

As for activities, we enjoyed hiking from the house down to the river as well as just around the River Rim property. Our day trips included exploring eastern Idaho, Grand Targhee Resort, Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park and the Village, old town Jackson, and best of all, white water rafting on the Snake River. Did a lot of wonderful hiking out of both Grand Targhee and Teton Village trails. After each busy day, it was great returning to River Rim Ranch and our comfy home.

The property manager, Doug Gemmel, was extremely helpful with our pre-trip planning and also readily available when we had a few questions during our stay. We highly recommend this property to any family or group looking for peace, solace, and natural beauty while still allowing fairly easy access to all the popular sites nearby!

Absolutely incredible!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful trip and were super impressed with the home. The setting was so beautiful that there was no restaurant that could compare to the view. We grilled out most nights and enjoyed the home. During our stay we went river rafting, went horseback riding and dinner at Linn Ranch, Mountain biking at Targhee, Guided fly fishing, chef dinners at the home. Overall, wonderful family reunion. Book it you will not be disappointed!!!

Fustrated but things happen

  • 2 of 5

The lodge was very nice. the experience was interesting. By Thursday the master bathroom toilet backed up then the kitchen sink, laundry room bathroom and then water was leaking through the ceiling to the basement. We left a day early we were very frustrated but the property manager and the owners apologies and did refund our deposit and three nights. I know this was just a fluke.

Beautiful home with incredible view of the Tetons!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in this home. It was perfect for our large family. The views are incredible! My personal favorite was to have a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the sunrise.

The furnishings were very nice. The family was very intrigued by the expandable circle dining room table.

We had grandparents with us and they loved sleeping in the guest house above the garage. It was there own private place.

Beautiful home with the most amazing views!!

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful, well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, very well laid out floor plan for large families. The views from the large front room window and the balaconies are beyond amazing. Everything was clean and well taken care of. If you did nothing else but stay at the house it would be a fabulous vacation. However, there are many activies in the area to enjoy, short drive to Jackson Hole, WY, Yellowstone Park, and many river raft tours to pick from. My family thanked me many times for selecting this Luxury Cabin. We very much enjoyed our stay July 9-15, 2016. Would recommend this Luxury Cabin to any friend or family.
