About the property

This is a bright 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit at the North end of the first floor. All units at Amelia by the Sea are direct oceanfront with private balconies on upper units or patios at ground level. ABTS is a well maintained gated complex offering pristine views of the Atlantic Ocean.

This freshly painted, tastefully redecorated and recently remodeled unit is a fantastic vacation destination! It is contemporary and stylish with a magnificent view of the ocean. New living room furniture, dishware, flatware, small appliances and a fully stocked kitchen help to entice the senses to relax and enjoy this cottage like setting! A new King sized bed in the Master Bedroom, a Queen and Twin in the Guest bedroom, all with new bedding, allow for dreamy comfort. Three (3) new flat screen TVs have been added to the Living Room, Master Bedroom and Guest Room. For your convenience a washer and dryer are provided in the unit. Each room has a Cable TV. The patio has two Adirondack Chairs plus a tall table and two tall chairs, a great spot to dine or just enjoy an expanded view of the beach.

If you are looking forward to just lounging around the pool, it is located on the ocean side of the complex. In this area, we have community grills with picnic tables and lounge chairs available on a first come basis. There are two very well maintained tennis courts available also on a first come basis. The 600 ft fishing pier is available to our guests with NO FISHING LICENSE required when fishing from this private pier.

Amelia by the Sea is a gated complex with open parking for a MAXIMUM of 2 vehicles per unit.

Directly across the street (walking distance) is the "Surf" restaurant which offers indoor dining or if you prefer, outdoor dining on a spacious deck often with live music. The highly rated, twenty-seven hole Fernandina Beach Golf Course is only a two minute drive from ABTS. Convenient to shopping, fine dining and natural beauty!

No communication and poor customer service by ERA & VRBO

When we arrived were given a condo that was not the same one that we reserved on vrbo. The condo was not nearly as nice as the one that was pictured. It was on the bottom floor like the other. I was willing to forget it and have a good time. The second day we were in the condo we had workers above us the afternoon hammering and tearing up the floor for about two hours. This was on Friday afternoon. I did not complain assuming they were finished. The weekend was great. However, Monday at 8:30 am the sawing and hammering began again. This time I had enough. I called the office and told the manager about the workers and asked why I was not in my reserved condo. She said she did not know workers were going to be above me since owners do not have to tell them! She told me that the condo we reserved was not available due to damage from the hurricane last September. I was never called to be informed of this. I made the reservation in February! She later told me that they will not be working the rest of the week above my condo. She contacted the owner and they gave me $250 off my rent. This was on Monday. I was happy with this. However, on Wednesday the workers were back at 8:30 am ! All morning they were sawing and hammering. I again called and the manager had no real solutions. She then offered to move us to another property. She offered this 3 days after the workers started. We only had 2 days left! Again on Thursday we had about 2 more hours of demolition from 830 to 10am. We watched the workers carry out every part of the condo above us and put it into a truck. The workers did not work in the afternoons 3 of the 4 days they were above us. I spoke to another manager and explained our experience. I told her that I was given $250 initially for my earlier issues. I told her that I thought It would be fair if they would refund half of what I paid them, since 4 of the 8 days I was there I had workers doing demolition above me! She told me they would not take any more off my rent. She said she would look into what else could be done. I never heard from her. On Friday, check out day there were no workers as we packed to leave. I am going to give this account to the owner of ERA at Fernendia, FL. This was the worst customer service experience I ever had! I have rented condos for many years and several with vrob. Communication and willingness to take care of the customer would have solved everything!
