Leland Cottage Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedroom / 3 Bathroom / 2200 Sq Ft Luxury Cottage with Modern Amenities

Our newly built home is conveniently located in the village of Leland, one block from the Fourth Street Lake Leelanau public access, and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, Leland harbor, and Fishtown.

We are only able to enjoy our home for a few weeks each summer so we are making it available to responsible renters who will care for it as we would.

Our home features 3 bedrooms with a Queen Bed in each room and a loft with 2 built-in Queen Beds (see floor plan pictures). There are 3 full bathrooms (one on each floor). The cottage has a wrap-around porch, outdoor furniture, a gas grill, and an outdoor fire pit. Other features include a washer/dryer, HDTV, audio system with connections for your music player, built-in lighting, hardwood floors, tiled bathrooms, and a full kitchen.

About Michael Keen

We live and work in Asheville, North Carolina, but love to spend time in Leland.

Michael Keen purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Michael Keen chose Northern Michigan

We have family in Leland and we have rented several homes in the village before we built our own place. We prefer to be in the village within walking distance to everything that Leland has to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

We designed our place to have the cozy feel of a cottage, but with plenty of room and modern amenities.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family loved our stay at the Fourth Street Cottage this summer! The home is absolutely beautiful and outfitted with everything you need. Location couldn't be better - down the street to public access Lake Leelanau, quick walk to downtown Leland and Lake Michigan. Our favorite thing was sitting on the big front porch reading. The owners have thought of everything to make the their home relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely hoping to stay there again next summer - it was just perfect!!

Great girls weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 8 girls come together for the Toast of the Season wine event. We LOVED the house. It was especially perfect for a group of girls since there were 3 full bathrooms and 5 beds to share. The kitchen table was our gathering place for meals, games, etc. The house was clean, cozy, spacious and was surprisingly stocked with many items I don't usually see in rented houses (an abundance of kitchen utensils, spices, aluminum foil, serving bowls, pots/pans, extra linens, etc.). The best part of renting this house was the communication from the home owner, from start to finish Mike was there to help in any way. I would highly recommend!

Anniversary

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful, well-planned out rental home. Even if Mike is a BUCKEYE fan, he was nothing but hospitable and eager to help at every turn. The home is lovely, and had just about EVERYthing you could ask for (except a corkscrew....we turned the place upside down the first night looking for one!) Leland is beautiful as always, and the fall colors were breathtaking. We had a chance to meet neighbors, passersby, and took in all the sights, sounds and tastes of the Leelenau peninsula. We especially loved 9 Bean Rows in Suttons bay, and Verterra wines. Ask for Andy, he was VERY helpful!!! Thanks again, Mike!!

Beautiful home and setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Fourth Street Cottage during a quick two-night trip to Leland for a wedding. We had a great experience, and only wish we could have stayed longer!

The communication with the owner was great - comprehensive and quick response time. He even texted me to let me know the cottage was ready for us to arrive earlier that expected. The home and Leland were perfect, despite the dreary, rainy weekend we had. Everything, down to the last detail, was taken care of. The cottage was very modern, incredibly clean, airy, and comfortable. It is a very quick walk into town, where you'll find a grocery, shops, and restaurants. We took advantage of the grill and the wonderful kitchen in the short time we were there.

I look forward to coming back again in the future, and would certainly recommend the cottage to friends and family!

Fantastic house, area, and owner!

  • 5 of 5

My extended family of 10 stayed in the Keen's vacation home during the last week in July. The home was extremely clean, organized, and well-stocked. I brought cupcake tins from home, but I didn't need to...surprisingly, one was already in the cupboard! When we had issues with the wi-fi connection, the owner promptly investigated the problem and had a new router delivered by the next day...all from his location in Asheville, NC! The third floor was a great use of space, and the four kids liked hanging out up there. The location to Lake Leelanau was so close that we carried our paddle board the short distance everyday for a paddle on this beautiful lake. Keen Family, thank you for sharing your home with us and being so responsive to our needs. We will be back next year!

Girls getaway to fish and play

GIRLS GETAWAY TO FISH AND PLAY

My girlfriends and I felt at home the moment we open the door of this charming modern but yet warm fourth Street cottage. It was equipped with everything we needed to settle into our vacation in Leland very quickly. The grounds are manicured and complete with an outdoor dining area, gas grill and ready to go fire pit. The walk into historic Fishtown is no more than four minutes at best. The historic community is quaint and every person was friendly and welcoming. We had a group of four ladies traveling this time but this home could easily handle a group of 12. I look forward to coming back to this spacious home with my family in the future. The Owners made us feel like part of the family.
