Michael purchased this apartment in 2006
Four couples shared two apartments had a fabulous time in Chicago! This location is EXCELLENT within easy walking distance to many popular bars and restaurants. The property is lovely and worked well for our group. Also close to great walking along the lake. We will definitely be back!
The appartment on the second floor of Villa Verdone was everything we could have wished for: Two comfortable and light bedrooms and a very stylish kitchen/dinig room as well as a cosy living room where we relaxed after our sightseeing/shopping tours througout beautiful Chicago. Michael was very kind to let us swap appartments, because our 17 year old daughter coudn´t sleep on the folding sofa of the smaller apartment. For younger children it might have been sufficient. So everybody was happy and we had a wonderful time.
The owners have taken meticulous care in remodeling and furnishing the four units. It is a lovely place to stay in a terrific neighborhood. Having said that, like most apartment living, you are able to hear sounds from the common areas (e.g. entry way and stairways) as well as from the neighbor upstairs. My wife and I are old enough to be the parents of some of the other guests who were in their 20's and who decided that their revelries from Rush Street should continue as they entered the building at 2:15 am. Oh well, big city living brought indoors which is, I guess, a risk wherever and whenever you stay at any multiple unit building. I know of no particular cure for this issue aside from all guests to be made aware of the affect their behavior can have on others. Also, I echo the comments of Amy W. that the amenities of soap, toilet paper and napkins should be given higher priority by the owners. Again, overall, an enjoyable stay and I would consider going again in the future.
My wife and I selected Villa Verdone due to it's location, but had no idea how wonderful it truly would be. Although situated on a charming tree lined Gold Coast street of million doller estates, we were only a half block from fantastic restaurants, nightclubs and shopping on Rush Street, and the beginning of Magnificent Mile shopping on Michigan Ave is only one block south.
The apartment was decorated in Asian furnishings, original art and a gas fireplace in the bedroom. Kitchen and bath were very new and in granite. We liked the Lemongrass soaps and plush sheets as well. Large TV, wifi, blow dryer and iron were all appreciated and Michael answered all of our questions to help with train info, restaurants, etc. We will visit here again.
Excellent location! The lake was a block away and Michigan Ave. was a mere 1/2 block. Easy access to so many great stores and restaurants. Comfortable bed and very adequate kitchen. We didn't spend too much time in the apartment - but we liked that it was nice and dark, so the kids slept in. The only thing lacking were small things - we ran out of toilet paper and couldn't find any and there wasn't hand soap (there was some in the shower, so we used that.) Other than that - great place!
Excellent bath shower, well equipped, location can't be beat
Fabulous location - between the beach and Michigan Avenue!! Michael was great to work with - answered all my questions and saw to all details and the place was immaculate and well-appointed. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
