Charming, newly remodeled 1920s house located in Downtown Greenville
About Sarah Markwell
Hello! September will mark our 10th year here in Greenville. We came to this city by choice and by way of Memphis, Boulder, Birmingham, and Orlando. Two of our three kids were born here, and we have watched this city grow and change right alongside of them. We love being a part of the community of Greenville. I am a live music junkie. All of us also love to run, lift, hike, ski, swim, travel, read, and watch our kids play soccer, basketball, jiujitsu and volleyball. And who am I kidding--I love online shopping and reality tv; my husband loves computers, and our kids love American Ninja Warrior and Netflix. There isn't much in the way of adventure that we won't attempt at least once. My favorite day is a hike with the family (and/or friends) with doughy pizza and a high gravity beer afterwards (live music a bonus). Chris would say that his favorite day is any day that is my favorite day. He's a low-maintenance, easy to please kinda guy. I am also a photographer with a photo-journalistic style, so if you'd like to discuss scheduling some pics while you're in town, just let me know and I'll see if I can accommodate! If I can't, I have photographer friends. Cheers to new adventures!

Why Sarah Markwell chose Downtown Greenville
While we were renovating this property, we were approached a few different times by contractors wanting to buy the house to tear it down and build more high rise condos. This little place is a gem in the middle of an area that is booming with new construction. History is important to us; this house has been loved for almost a hundred years, and with our ownership, it will continue to be so. Here is the legacy of Ms. Mable, who owned the house before us: http://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/news/local/historical-upstate-churches/2017/02/03/mable-clarke-using-food-soapstone-baptist-church-tool-preserve-black-history/97033094/
What makes this House unique
This property combines the character of old with the comfort of new. We took it down to the studs; it is completely renovated on the inside.

This is probably the cutest, nicest rental we’ve stayed in and we use VRBO and the competitor often. The place is clean, modern and walkable to downtown. All necessary amenities are included which is nice. We really enjoyed our trip. The only caveat is there were some downstairs neighbors who were a bit loud. I can sleep through most anything but the noise really bothered my husband. In fairness to the owner, we didn’t report the noise and fortunately for us, our stays only overlapped by one night so the noise was not an issue after the first night.
We loved this home. So cute and close to everything. My kids loved the toys. I appreciated all of the extras
Lovely Place to Stay
My family had a wonderful time here! Very cute inside, perfect location in Greenville for a walk to Main St. Plenty of parking and well appointed inside. We would highly recommend!
Comfortable, Modern, Easy
We had such a great weekend and loved our stay at this downtown home! We had everything we needed and felt right at home. Would most definitely come back! Updated and very clean.
Apartment was beautiful, better than home & owner thought of every last detail! Location can’t be beat-friendly neighborhood & walking distance to all Greenville has to offer. Our first experience at an AirBNB & will never stay in a hotel again. Seriously considering moving here!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this thoughtful review! We love Greenville, and we are so glad you did too!
Great spot. I didn’t realize until we got there that it was an upstairs apartment and the downstairs is rented separately. That being said, other than being able to hear the other guests from time to time at night, it was not an issue and Sarah was adamant we let her know if it got too loud. We were in town for a couple of races and I just wish I’d been able to secure a late checkout because we raced the morning of our checkout. In hindsight I should’ve just booked another night to give us time.
The place is beautiful and very well maintained. We had everything we needed and could walk most places we needed to go.
We are a 5 minute walk to the baseball field and a 10 minute walk to beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy. Keep strolling a bit more and you'll bump into the Peace Center with concerts and Broadway shows. Restaurants abound. City bike rentals at the baseball field and nearby Swamp Rabbit Inn. The Saturday market that runs in the summer/fall as well as the various annual festivals (Fall for Greenville, Artisphere, Euphoria) are also walkable from our property.
