4 Bedroom, 3 Full Bath, Backs Up To Green Area
We live in a new (finished in 2011) home in Suburban Louisville. On the main floor, the dining room, living room, and kitchen are in one great open concept room. On one side of the great room are the girls' bedrooms and bath; on the other side is the master and master bath. Downstairs we have a completely finished basement, complete with large tv and sectional for watching a movie, a full-sized pool table that can be converted into a Ping-Pong table, full bath, mini-fridge, a guestroom/playroom (this is the 4th bedroom), and 2 offices. Out back is our covered patio with a 500 sq ft addition, complete with a swing and firepit. It's a great place to relax with a glass of wine and watch the fireflies light up the summer night :)

Joel is from Michigan and Suzanne is originally from Louisville. After meeting on Christian Mingle in 2007, we got married in 2008. After living in Texas and Colorado, we moved back to Louisville in 2010. We have 2 daughters. Joel works in insurance and Suzanne is a self-employed stay-at-home mom.
Joel purchased this House in 2012
Why Joel chose Louisville
Close to town, 6 miles from Churchill Downs where Kentucky Derby is held, 2 miles from a major grocery store, but in a quiet secluded neighborhood with no through-traffic.

Owner was very accommodating and friendly. Went above and beyond to meet needs. House was ready and had everything we needed for our stay. Very clean and updated house. Beautiful. We stayed here and went to Mammoth Caves for the day since it was only 90 minutes away.
Thanks for staying and taking such good care of our home!
Nice standing out house, in a good neighborhood
Our overall stay was fabulous. We flew down on a business trip from Portland OR, for the MID America truck show. The owner of the house was super chill and friendly. Before our arrival he went out and got us some water, soft drinks, and checked in with us for any other needs. I Would recommend this place to anyone.
Thanks Sergey, enjoyed having you!
Beautiful home but beware! Neighbor Alert!
Prior to our stay Joel’s communication was great even though we’ve never met or talked over the phone, he was very accommodating through email and text. I checked-in late morning on Thanksgiving Day and stayed through the weekend. Besides having to share the fridge and not having any room in the refrigerator for our groceries the overall house was great. They had everything I needed.
Now, what my family and I experienced next was truly unacceptable. Remind you again, it’s Thanksgiving Day and at the time, I only had two visitors over. My mother, sister and two nephews along with my girls. Only two cars park out front on the street due to their driveway being very steep. Not even three hours into our stay, we get a knock at the door. It’s Joel (owner) and his Father. The nature of their visit was unannounced and extremely awkward. He said, he a received a call that “there were kids were running around in the backyard”. Okayyy....well you do have a really nice playset in the back that my kids were playing on. So, what’s the problem here? it’s Thanksgiving! Without going into a lot of details. There was no issue other than It felt as though, the color of kids playing in the backyard. It only snowballed from there. Thirty minutes after Joel’s visit, I received a text, “did we discussed our no smoking policy inside or outside the house.” “Do you guys smoke? No! Then an hour later, I get a FaceTime call, and several missed calls. After checking my voicemail, Joel asked me to move a car and to also let him know how many cars I think will be over at the house for the next 4 days. Again, It’s Thanksgiving and there were cars parked up and down the street throughout the neighborhood. So, after Joel’s awkward home visit and several odd phone call requests, we were ready to leave. Obviously the constant harassment had made my family uncomfortable and ruined our Thanksgiving.
For some clarity, I stopped back at the house to touch base with Joel and his wife to discuss all that transpired. Call it a misunderstanding or whatever but their actions definitely weren’t justified either. Apparently, their uneasiness was caused by an untruthful neighbor. Now, men lie, women lie, numbers don’t. We got our full security deposit back as their house was left in the same condition it was rented out. Joel was extremely apologetic but the damage was already done as our Thanksgiving was ruined by their constant harassment. Lovely home but would not rent again
With this being our 4th rental in 4 months, with no prior issues, I was surprised to get a text from our neighbor saying there were 5 vehicles parked on the street in front of our house (listing says no street parking) and several kids running around in their yard. I wrongly assumed just Moe’s family (his profile says 2 adults & 2 kids) would be at our home with a max of 1-2 vehicles. So after receiving the text from our neighbor, I came over to the house (first time I’ve communicated with a renter during their stay). I did not want to come over, but given that there were 7 vehicles (instead of the max of 2), I wanted to make sure everything was ok. When I got to the house, there were 5 total vehicles; 2 in the driveway and 3 on the street. Moe said nobody else was coming over, however my neighbor had to knock on the door later that evening asking one of Moe’s guests to move their vehicle, as the other 2 vehicles were back on the street in front of our home, including one blocking part of our neighbor’s driveway. I reached out to Moe later that day (accidentally hit Facetime button) requesting that no vehicles be parked in the street, but got no response. I wouldn’t call this harassment; a simple “ok” would have sufficed. I did return the full security deposit, even though we’re still missing a nice knife from our kitchen set that I’ve since replaced. I’ve thought about this experience a lot, and even though the number of vehicles exceeded what’s allowed on the listing, our house was left in great shape, and honestly, I felt bad for showing up on Thanksgiving day. I take the blame for not communicating more clearly that there is no street parking (1-2 vehicles were still on the street even after Thanksgiving day) and not knowing that he planned to have guests over beyond his immediate family. I even sent Moe money for one night’s rent (to make up for Thanksgiving day) in a package with an item he forgot, but the package got returned to me, as the USPS was unable to deliver it to the address he gave me. To sum it up, our house was well taken care of, Moe and his family were very nice and took good care of our home, and I wrongly assumed that there would be one family at our house with no vehicles parked on the street. I’ve learned to communicate more clearly with future renters about these things to avoid any future misunderstandings.
loved this home. its close to EVERYTHING. Joel was very helpful with any questions that I had. would love to stay here again when we are in Louisville.
Quite a very lovely home!
After being on the road as much as we travel it was a warm welcome to feel like home for a couple days. Home owner was extremely easy to work with and even offered to provide our favorite foods upon arrival.
