Enjoyed our stay
My two sons and I stayed at the Clarkson Guest House while exploring nearby Poinsett State Park for mountain biking, Goodale State Park for kayaking, and Congaree National Park for hiking. Evenings we made a fire in the fire pit in the back yard. The house appears to be mostly 1949 original and is in excellent condition. It's a welcome step back in time yet it has all of conveniences of modern living such as wifi, satellite TV, and AC. Whole Foods and several restuarants were about a 20 minute drive. We enjoyed our stay and would return.
3 couples shared the house for the weekend and had a great time! Great location near Congaree NP.
We spent a chilly weekend with 2 other couples and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Roosevelt was our host for the weekend and had everything we could want, including wood for the fire pit. He was very friendly and welcoming and shared the history with us. This home has a very cozy, comfortable atmosphere and I would recommend it to anyone.
We were very happy to host Billie and her guests at the Clarkson Guest House. They were very nice people who were visiting our area for a wedding. It was easy to communicate with Billie and they treated our home with care. We welcome the opportunity to have them come back again soon and stay with us at
the Clarkson Guest House at Congaree National Park.
Spacious older ranch style home
With three bedrooms, three full baths, one being a mother-in-law type suite, this home was perfect for our stay in Columbia for our son’s graduation from Ft Jackson. It was immaculately clean and the owner was a gracious host. We highly recommend and would stay again if life ever brings us back to the Columbia area.
We enjoyed hosting Jennifer and her family during their visit to attend graduation at Fort Jackson Army Training Center. They were a pleasant family and we salute their soldiers' service to our country.
The Clarkson Guest House has become a popular location for Fort Jackson families and visitors to Shaw and McEntire Air Force Bases and University of South Carolina football games and family events.
We look forward to having Jennifer her family and friends stay with us again soon at the Clarkson Guest House at Congaree National Park.
Very spacious and overall just a great "feel" to the home! The owners have thought of everything! Great location - surprisingly close to Columbia and Fort Jackson! I would highly recommend this home to families!
We enjoyed hosting Suellen and her family. They were visiting to attend graduation ceremonies at Fort Jackson Army Training Center. Excellent communicator, neat and they treated our home as if it were their own. We are proud of their support of our military and soldiers and we would love to host them again at the Clarkson Guest House at Congaree National Park.
We did enjoy our stay at The Clarkson Guest House. It was very spacious, with comfortable beds and relatively quiet (located on a highway in the country). The house is well equipped with kitchen utensils, bath needs, and linens (which are very clean!). Our greet person was very nice and explained the history of the house as well as the where to find items, etc.
Congaree National Park is just down the road, so, convenient after a long day of hiking.
Downtown Columbia is about 20 - 30 minutes but a straight and easy drive to find your destination.
Wonderful guest! They were good communicators who treated our home as if it were their own. We can’t wait to host them again at the ClarksonGuest House at Congaree National Park
